Well yesterday I just insured my third car with A-Plan! The Westfield (3.5L V8) is going into storage for a while and A-Plan were able to provide a policy for this despite it being away from my residence. They gave me a competitive quote for the Cobra (also a 3.5L V8). And finally my brand new Porsche 718 Cayman 2.0L flat 4 with 300bhp (which I picked up tomorrow from the dealer ... and yes @Julie Hall - Peak District AO you're welcome a drive in it!) was given a very competitive quote which beat all those cheap dodgy policies on compare the insurance type comparison sites. Very impressed with the service so far and when the Range Rover comes up for renewal I'll also be contacting them ... although with four cars being insured I'd expect a very nice discount, some fine wine and a burger at Stoneleigh @A-Plan Insurance THATCHAM 🤣3 points

Also have the option to have your initials, first, last name or full name printed onto the cover - This does come at an additional cost. To start the ball rolling with the new option. I would like to keep the same offer that was advised earlier this month. 6147006 - Westfield indoor semi fit super soft indoor car cover - £155.00 including Free mainland UK. Initials or name added for no extra fee. 6147007 - Westfield XI semi fit Indoor car cover - £175.00 including Free mainland UK. Initials or name added for no extra fee. I've recently renewed and downloaded ALL my A-plan docs! I've looked at little closer at my breakdown cover and started to worry, that I'd not been adequately covered during my last 3 Euro trips and have just spoken with Carlie ( @A-Plan Insurance THATCHAM) for clarification. Whilst the docs state: I'd prefer the nearest 'suitable' garage to be my own! I'm delighted to report, Carlie advised otherwise (I'd been 'boy looking' to quote my wife!)! The deeper T's and C's state: Hence Carlie wouldn't take any more money from me to improve my Euro Cover as it's already perfect!2 points

@Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO I've had a reply and it looks like he has changed his name by d poll I wrote: ''Hi Dude, Ive seen your westfield for sale on the bay nice looking car, Ive had a robin hood before which I loved but wrote it off last year after I tried to over take a car and mis judged it, anyway always fancied a westfield and should have more power than my old robin, can you tell me more info about it whats the engine and whats the power mate? and whats the price outside of ebay? youve said 3800 mate but what can you go down to for cash? not bothered about mot I know somebody. Thanks mate'' and he replied: ''Thank you for your interest. Sorry for the late reply. The WESTFIELD SEW is still for sale and available for viewing in Dingwall, Highlands Scotland. In very good looking and working condition. It belonged to my brother who unfortunately passed away a few months ago. All UK paperwork available and in my name, HPI clear. I reside in Germany due to work commitments. The reason I am selling is that it costs too much to change the registration from UK to German papers as well as the delivery fees to Germany which are considerably high. My last asking price is £3800 including delivery to any UK mainland address. Where abouts are you based? I look forward to your reply. Kind regards, Thomas Jager''1 point

Yes, if you have an older car, or have done modifications to the wiring loom on a newer car, cutting plugs off, stripping insulation etc, its very easy to let the smoke out! You know the feeling, you wire something new in, turn the key, and bam, the smoke leaks out of the wiring1 Well don't panic, just top the smoke back up again, and everything will work fine.1 point

Everytime I park mine up, I strip it down to its bare components, engine out, gear box off, rear clip completely removable, sides off, nosecone off, remove all 4 wheels, take the steering wheel off (not quick release so that will slow them down further), unbolt the seats, take the ECU out, remove the diff and propshaft, take the headlights off, unbolt the aeroscreen, take out the gauges and carefully remove the dashboard, unbolt the roll cage, unclip the harnesses, take the bonnet with me obviously, take the steering column and rack off and finally remove the fuel tank. You can't be too careful round here.1 point

It appears so, my point is that a license fee pales into insignificance compared with a race suit, boots, helmet, HANS and an ARDS test (looking at this from the point of view of a circuit racer).1 point

So you (anyone not precisely aimed to someone), are competing with a £15k car. Having slick sets worth £2k a season, going to events to the other side of the country with car and trailer and campervan, wife, kid and dog... and all the kit... but then £40 or £50 quid at the start of the seaon are a deal breaker... Amousing. 😛1 point

I rang the number on the website went through what I was looking for then I was re directed to the northern office in Oxford, where I had to go through the details again. I'm still actually waiting for the chap I was dealing with to ring back about no claims bonus and an actual quote, its only been 2 months, of lost business, of which Hastings direct now have.0 points
