  2. Hi everyone, been hanging around the site for a year or so looking and reading up on Westfield’s. Not a mechanic in any way but have basic knowledge ( pre cursor to loads of (stupid ) newbie questions) but had itch for one that needed scratching. North Preston so will be attending local meets and runs out. Only looked at two cars and I know people say look at loads but once I saw this one I knew it was the one. First time in one today loved the short trip can’t wait to get it un-sorn taxed and on the road. Hope to meet and catch up with you guys soon, and to look after and keep it as pristine as it previous owner Jim Cunliffe of this forum. Thanks Jim. Obligatory picture in new home

  5. Hi SB01, Ownership can be done easily on a budget for some, close to a small lottery win for others lol.... You can easily do more than the original car cost if you buy at the bottom end and then upgrade engine etc, but that is the thing that appeals to some, whereas in my opinion, if you just want to enjoy time on the road and not in your garage, than buying something that ticks all the boxes without a lot of upgrades is the way to go. Loads of options out there and some very good deals to be had if you work out what you want first. Buying at the bottom end of the scale, like I did, can be a real minefield, but there are some real gems to be found too, so you don't need to spend a lot to get a LOT back in fun return.... Buying off here for example can see quality cars at good prices. Wherever you go to buy, the seller should come across as a real enthusiast and know the car inside and out - if you come across any seller who seems vague or not very knowledgeable, then walk away... Insurance wise, it is particularly cheap IMHO, when you consider what you are actually going up the road in, but obviously that is on limited miles. Obviously a lot of Insurers out there, but IMHO its best to go with a company that actually understands what a Westfield is, which is half the battle. I started off with A plan and have never looked back..... HTH, Mart.

  7. I won't be going do not worry. It's just a shame I don't get the full benefits. But after 10 years, the car will be registered by the end of this month.

  11. We'll be having the first run of the year this Sunday, 12th to The Motorist. It will be the same as the last time we went, meeting at Rothwell Sports Centre, LS26 8EL at 12 noon, so not an early start. We'll follow the same route heading out towards Selby and on for a coffee at The Motorist.

  23. I hate reading this. family saying basically "we love you that much that we want you to be unhappy and miserable"... (and I don't like bikes AT ALL). However, most of this people ends finding happiness buying a Kit Car... that is just as fun, as exciting... and dangerous. πŸ˜‚ (shhhhhh, we won't tell anyone).

  24. Insurance on these are relatively low - it will fluctuate with how many miles you do, where you live etc. but its at the lower end of insurance costs. Give us a shout when you're looking for quotes as we do build-up cover as well as road cover Good luck! Carlie
