Kiki is all trimmed up washed and ready to go. Tash is washed with new cold preventing clothing. I'm not washed yet but it's raining hard enough today so I should be ok. Bought a can of water proof spray so Tash is gonna spray me in the morning so I should stay dry all day. Santa's sack is being filled by elves as we speak so I think we're good to go.3 points

It won’t be clean for long, given the usual state of the peak roads 😎2 points

If you are going to attend and take part in your first track day then firstly I would make sure your car has had a recent service, any oil leaks fixed, recent brake fluid change and make sure you have a descent amount of pad and Tyre life left etc. Dont worry about spending money upgrading the parts on your car before you go but make sure the car is in good order before you go, you know common sense. You hear so many say they get through a set of pads and tyres on a track day, and while this is true with some track day veterans you are very unlikely to do the same on your first track day. Most track day organizers have instructors on the day (usually free) and getting an instructor alongside you in your car telling you where to brake, where to keep your foot in and position your car etc will be the most sensible thing to do and you will be amazed at what you, and your car can do when you get your lines right. The other thing is keep calm, I have seen so many people on their first track day nervous as hell and it shows when on track. Dont worry but just get used to the track first, do a few laps at moderate pace, track day rules means no overtaking in the corners and if the other drivers obey the rules you wont need to worry about what the other drivers are doing behind you as they should position themselves safely. If the person is clearly faster than you the track marshals should see this and you "should" be shown a blue flag, if this is the case then just keep your pace the same and when on a straight pop your indicator on to show that you are going to pull off the racing line and let them by, they will appreciate that, once done if they are struggling to overtake you then just let off the throttle a little to enable them to pass. If you notice someone coming up fast behind you in your mirrors and there is no flag then just do the same, indicate and then pull off the racing line calmly when its safe to do so. Once you get used to the layout of the track, then pick up the pace a little at a time, no one is timing you and its all about having fun. If you are at a large circuit like Silverstone GP then because the track is so wide you can get a false representation of speed and you can easily go barrelling into a corner faster than you feel comfortable doing. So its important to just build up slowly. I always found that for a new person on track, the best thing to do is to go out on the warm up laps (most organizers do this) this is 2 or 3 laps where everyone gets to check out the layout of the circuit at a moderate pace. Then as soon as you are able get an instructor in with you. He will tell you how to get your car around the circuit quickly and safely. Then when you break for lunch see if you can get the same instructor to hop back in the car with you when the afternoon session starts he can then tell you how you are doing and see where or if any improvement can be made. The most important thing is to have fun and to build up at your own pace. Dont worry about being overtaken.. after a few track days this wont happen so much.2 points

@Scotty72 I'd put other clothes on as well as a hat! I can't believe the Lady who requires heated gloves in a car with a heater, is suggesting you dress in just a hat! She's clearly not had enough cake!2 points

To All WSCC Members, Firstly, I would like to personally thank every individual that I have spoke with and had to pleasure to meet during the past 12 months. This year has been amazing and year or growth and personal developments. Ups, downs, smiles, laughter and lots of memories made with a few swear words in between.. The journey has been very positive and I'm extremely appreciative for the help and support which has been shown to me. Big thank you to the clubs who welcomed me on my occasional tours. Hopefully I can get out and about a bit more next year. Any excuse to test drive the demo Thank you to each and every customer who has ordered and supported the factory. Greatly appreciated. We as a department are striving for continuous improvement and I hope it is noticeable. I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy Christmas and fantastic new years. Thank you Best Regards Patrick2 points

“`But I don’t want to go among mad people,’ Alice remarked. `Oh, you can’t help that,’ said the Cat: `we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.’ `How do you know I’m mad?’ said Alice. `You must be,’ said the Cat, `or you wouldn’t have come here.’ Alice didn’t think that proved it at all; however, she went on `And how do you know that you’re mad?’ `To begin with,’ said the Cat, `a dog’s not mad. You grant that?’ `I suppose so,’ said Alice. `Well, then,’ the Cat went on, `you see, a dog growls when it’s angry, and wags its tail when it’s pleased. Now I growl when I’m pleased, and wag my tail when I’m angry. Therefore I’m mad.'”1 point

I heard the story from Trevor and couldn't believe it. Up at daft o'clock, drive car to Oulton, track day at Oulton and then drive it home, I think that is a license to turn up in a mucky car. You and Trevor are mad, which does help with tomorrows activities funnily enough.1 point

I hope to be coming along to this one (Santa suit arrived yesterday) and joining you all for at least some of the route. Hopefully I can bring an Elf with me as well! Bit concerned about the talk of clean cars though, mine hasn’t been washed in a long time! If its overcast weather maybe nobody will notice 😀1 point

Not sure if you have this sorted but we can get hold of the HiSpec kit with 260mm 1p discs or 275mm 2p discs (floating), Both are designed for use with a min wheel size of 13". The 260mm option uses single piece 260mm x 20mm discs and the Billet 4 Hispec Caliper and the 275mm uses 2 piece floating discs with a 26mm thickness and uses the RS114 Hispec Caliper. The floating option is quite a bit more money though. If you want to make sure of the fitment we can supply a template you can use to check clearances etc. If you are interested let me know.1 point

I’ve got a brand new set of 15” Pro Race 1.2’s in 4x108 fitment, 7” that came with my new kit. They’ve got Toyo Proxes TR1R’s on (from memory) and haven’t touched the tarmac at all. They cost me over £800 from Westfield, but I know I won’t get that back for them. Item located in Chelmsford (Essex).1 point

Oh and controversially if you do get other club members to show you the ropes, make sure you choose the fast ones! Pointless picking up other people’s bad habits 😄1 point

Hi Nick, good decision, they really come alive on track. Personally I'm not a huge fan of "Airfield days" so I'd be looking at somewhere with plenty of run off should it go awry, Blyton Park and Bedford are ideal to pop your cherry. Some (most?) organisers offer tuition - I think a full day is probably overkill, they come in 20 min sessions usually, so I'd probably do 20 mins early in the morning and 20 mins in the afternoon once you know the track. If you do a day with some other club members I'm sure they'd happily take you out to show you which way the track goes and possibly come out as a passenger to give you some tips. Have fun!1 point
