After my eye surgery I was struggling a bit with the sun in my eyes, so I made a sun strip from duct tape. The glue just couldn’t handle what Adam had in mind.3 points

Charged the battery, cleaned the plug leads, cleaned and warmed the plugs then it eventually started. New plugs, leads and caps to be ordered.3 points

Calum, some of you will know him, has been for a number of years now, neglecting his Stoneleigh duties and has been working with disadvantaged and disabled children and young adults at Chickenshed. Right now (and as ever) they really need funds to keep things ticking along and have signed up with The Big Give; any donation you make before 11 December will be doubled! Here's where you donate Here's a bit about Chickenshed and The Big Give Here's more about Chickenshed I know we all give extremely generously across the year to our own and Club interests and have just given a small fortune at the awards do and are regular contributors to Air Ambulance at Stoneleigh; but if one does not ask... Thanks so much in advance2 points

Popped down to Oulton Park yesterday with @Meatibald Archpants and Lionel for a bit of lappage. Yes, that thing in the middle was my track car for the day. Behold the MicLaren. Or Ladybird. I've still not decided for certain: Yes, that is a Nissan Micra. It's completely standard. And yes, it is the 1.0L, with an astonishing 59bhp, ish. I paid £250 for it and yes, I had only driven it a few miles on the road before I decided to venture to Oulton for a track day. It'll be fine, they said, it's Japanese. And it was! Sea sickness pills mandatory, because this is the 'S' model which 'benefits' from no anti roll bars whatsoever. A buttload of toe out up front and 70psi in the rear tyres took car of handling duties. Until, for some reason, the left rear lost all pressure mid-corner at Shell hairpin. Weird. Still, I managed to limp back and luckily had a spare! 108 miles completed on track, no mechanical issues then drove it home afterwards - brilliant!1 point

Deposit taken. A sad day but its going to someone who recognises its qualities and I am sure will do well with it.1 point

Just came on to recommend Paul.1 point

That's kind of what I had Paul, but they implanted a synthetic lens and kept my natural one in. Then laser on top. Getting better gradually though!1 point

Do you need to fit a litter bin to Lionel? . what was going on there? I take it Clio drivers see themselves higher in the peck order than MX5s.. they don't like to be passed? Did the Micra manage to embarrass anything on track @AdamR1 point

@Julie Hall - Peak District AOYes I met Michael, he's a nice guy. He said he enjoyed meeting you all at GBS. I've joined his facebook forum and it seems like they're always out and about... Some lovely cars there, but I had a proper drool over the Tango man coloured mk1 Escort, what a stunning bit of kit... I'm putting it in my letter to Santa, I wonder if I've been good enough 🤣 Another one of 24Seven Photography's shots1 point

In addition to @Julie Hall - Peak District AO's great write up as usual above, some of us set off slightly earlier! Playing 'musical cars' to get the Westie out, whilst the family is in bed. I'd arranged to meet @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary at Hulme End at 8:00. We used Whatsapp as usual to sychronise our arrival. One of us doesn't have a heater and hence would rather keep moving. As I could see Dave's progress, I'm able to adjust my speed to meet his ETA. Given we don't normally enjoy the roads to GBS. I'd picked a different route through the Peaks. The roads we're rather damp. I smiled as I refuel approx 5 miles from home as I could see that Dave looked to be doing similar in Leek. You can't get much more synchronised than that! The roads were quiet given it was early. As I made the finally right turn for the long straight to Hulme End, I spied Dave's solar canon headlights in my mirrors a good way back. Perfect timing as ever. We met briefly to get head sets set up and I swapped my googles for shades. We then drove through Darley Dale and Chesterfield arriving a McD near to GBS before Julie as you'll have seen above to be met by Robin and Andy R. Andy R's new tou looked and sounded great on the short run to GBS We were well fed and watered at GBS as always: Dave and I travelled home in convoy in reverse to the journey there. The skies were getting darker but I got home dry. Note, the journey home didn't need gloves either! I've just clicked over onto 17,000 miles. Not bad for a 4 year old aero screened, heater less car! I clearly don't need the battle of the Odo's to encourage me to use mine1 point
