  2. Don’t worry - JC will have us back to the 70’s quicker than Dr Emmett Brown in a DeLorean - free everything, no need to work, just sign on 🤣

  4. Big hike in licence fees. Increase in permit fees including grass roots events. Everyone must have a licence even if the event is just a club event! (There are free licences for the simple club events but looks like they are more than covered by all the other increases. Next year will be a bad year for motorsport in the uk, not only will these changes reduce newcomers, they'll lose existing competitors. goodness me!

  5. The R.A.C. classic car rally is back in Leominster this year, based at our local classic car auction and starting from the high street. Here's photos of some of the cars and the "catalogue barn" at the auctions - the white car at the front is an MG TD special [ https://www.brightwells.com/lot-details/100011929 ] Gary

  12. Very true @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO, I am heading up the Chester to see Dad and 'popping over' to Chesterfield to collect on Saturday...return and swap over in/around Chester. Yes, ex-mil, but as said many times, my men only followed me out of curiosity...

  14. Just bought a set of these as well - heading up to Chester next Friday to collect, swap out my Nankang Ultrasport NS-2 on Sat and then drive back to Bristol! Judging by the weather forecast I should be able to 'test' them...

  17. its less than one tree per person in the UK. Why dont we all plant a tree every time our free broadband isnt working. Or pehaps a new bank holiday from Labour on 5th May that is plant a tree day. Its all buzzcocks just especially buzzcocks this time around. Its chips every lunchtime from the kids put in charge of school.

  18. Our Christmas meal is on Tuesday, December 3rd. The Red Fox at Thornton Hough, near Willaston, is our venue for this year. Have a look at the online menu (it's nice) and let AO Mark know if you are coming as booking is essential. Partners welcome, Westfields optional, having a great time - no doubt about that. Note that due to the Chrimbo party there is no December club night at the Tudor Rose. The Mince Pie run will again be between Boxing Day and New Year's eve and will of course be weather dependent, isn't that a surprise. Don't worry if your car is SORN or subject to Chrimbo upgradeitise, there is always someone with a spare seat. But not maybe with a heater so wrap up warm. We always find somewhere nice and snug for that festive mince pie or bacon butty. DT&P will be advised by text. If you aren't on Mark's text alert system, now is the time to do so, let him have your mob number. Next year will be great, lots of runs, meets, shows and meals. Our famous, if not infamous, Y Ddraig Goch will be a two day event in May. Now in its 12th year, it's probably the most popular and best supported event we do. And that's due in no small part to Jeff's fantastic route planning, how does he find those roads! There is also talk of a european trip, France, Italy, Switzerland, so don't miss that, it's in the planning stages at the moment. Lots to look forward to, so join in the fun.
