The General Election was called because the Conservatory Government was struggling to sort a problem nobody had asked them to create---Brexit. Brexit arose after PM David of Cameroon asked the voters if they wanted to Remain in EU or Leave, and the voters apparently got it wrong. After DC resigned a new PM, Mother Theresa, tried and failed to sort the Brexit. Then it was the turn of another new PM called Boorish who was so famous he was known solely by his first name (this is the case with all truly well known people; Elvis, Prince, Bjork etc.). The Parties had different plans to appeal to voters:- Conservatory--—Leader Boorish said his new Brexit plan was ‘half-baked'. Many observers agreed. It just needed slightly more cooking to be satisfying and nutritious for the whole nation. The hope was that an exhausted nation would vote Conservatory to end the brexit purgatory and forget 9 years of wage stagnation and funding NHS at half the historic average yearly increase. The Purgatory Party stood down to give Conservatory a clean run at their target seats. Labour---Leader Jeremiah Corblimey (he wears cor-blimey trousers and lives in a Council flat) said he’d negotiate an improved Brexit deal, then let the voters know it’s rubbish and recommend staying in EU. Hope was that extra NHS funding promise would swing the vote for Labour and voters wouldn’t focus on vast spending commitments and possible tax increases. UK had never had a Marxist Socialist PM who'd attended terrorists’ funerals before, but there was a first time for everything. LibUnDems---Leader (girlyswot) Jo Winsome said she’d Revoke Article 50 and stay in EU ignoring 17.4 million voters from 2016 because LibUnDems know what’s best. Hope was that all the Remain voters would switch to LibUnDems to sweep Jo to power. Scottish National Party---Leader, Nicola 1, wanted to stay in EU, and Leave UK, delivering an Independent Scottish Country accountable to no-one except the unelected bureaucrats of Brussels. Greens---Leader J R Hartley wanted to solve problems by going back to a simpler time called the 15th century. Brexit Party---Leader N Farago wanted Brexit delivered (unclear what that is and Deliverooo couldn't help). A General Election is usually about Defence, Tax, NHS, Police, Schools, funding Local Government etc but this one is defined by Brexit. A TV station planned a debate between the leaders of the two biggest parties, Conservatory and Labour, but Jo Winsome demanded to be included despite only gaining 12 MPs in 2017 (and Jo losing her own East Dumbartonshire seat in 2015--regained in 2017). Jo had cleverly calculated that if she could merely increase her MPs by a multiple of 28 then she would be Prime Minister. There was no flaw in the arithmetic; only in the voting logic based on all past history of elections. Jo was very polite and insisted the Party drop a slogan rhyming with rollocks after arguing that an anti-Democracy stance was offensive enough. The EU Budget Deficit Rules unambiguously stated NO COUNTRY SHALL EXCEED 3% GDP AS YEARLY DEFICIT (unless that Country is called France). This was a drawback for Labour, and Jeremiah, as their spending plans might exceed the limit (secretly JC wanted out of the EU to have free rein over Government spending). Current PM Boorish made a commitment to stop drinking alcohol until Brexit was sorted, which is expected to be very soon (Brexit already in the oven). This greatly reassured the electorate as it meant he’d only be boozing during the rest of his 5 year term as PM (if successful). History showed that all great British PMs in the past had been great imbibers. Voting day is 4 weeks tomorrow---here's hoping it all turns out for the best. =====================================================================================2 points

Greetings from Poland ! (sunny ) Another great tackday in Westfield , even with success - Ist place in class (2 litre NA engines from 90 years production, FWD + RWD , sport prepared) . It is more than I was hoping for in this Year. Great car, so far very reliable (although needs some nuts and bolts tightening beetween trackdays ) . Great cart, but more I drive it , the more I can see it needs some really good suspensionn adjustment , personally I have not much experience in this area. Hope to find some guidelines in this subject ,here in WSCC Forum. Drive and track : https://youtu.be/1dD6CDPDdFg Trcak from above: https://youtu.be/uGC3FFUEXWk Oh, and some lawn sightseeing (training part ) https://youtu.be/DBcrPuZGPM82 points

Reminds me of the Aussie saying: "If you want to go into the Outback take a Land Rover. If you want to come back again take a Toyota." I have a defender...1 point

My friend has just sold his car and has a screen and mounts available. They are as new but I am unsure of the price. He can be contacted on 07828150301. He is called Rob.1 point

Absolutely no surprise, I found lots of parts missing from my DCOE 40's, apparently people used to do stupid stuff to Webers back in the days before the internet, when rumours and old wives tails ruled. Old school equivalent of fuel saving magnets.1 point

Yeah, had an XC90 R Design a few years back, superbly built car, and the most comfy seats of any car I’ve ever sat in. Followed it with a Discovery 4 HSE, before it was even six months old, as much as I loved it, I’ll be the first to admit it numerous electrical glitches, the most annoying being if you aimed any sort of high pressure hose directly at the drivers side window, (if I recall correctly), the rear near side window would drop down automatically and go in anti trapment mode, meaning you couldn’t fully shut it again till the drivers door had dried out. (I did eventually manage to find out how to override the anti trapment feature, (it wasn’t obvious and nor was it in the vehicle manual). But the damn thing would do it occasionally in really heavy rain and wind, too. You’d come back and find the window part down. A colleague got a Range Rover Sport at the same time as I had the Disco, we used to compare notes, his long term unresolved electrical issue was a failing navigation dvd drive! To rub salt in the wounds, the local (Cheshire selling to mainly Cheshire Set) main dealers were awful. In the end, I found a more commercial dealer that did mainly agricultural stuff, and service forecourt full of muddy farm land rovers aside, they were a million times better. (Though never did solve the window drop thing).1 point

Airflow was balanced across all 4 chokes (I'd done that with my syncrometer) but I was worried they were running lean. As the car had sat before I bought it, all the jets, emulsion tubes etc needed a good clean. He stripped them all down, tweaked the mixture, checked for air leaks and adjusted the floats. Then rebalanced and reset the idle and checked the exhaust gasses for carbon and CO2. He also spotted that one of the bolts that locks the venturi in place on one choke was missing (not something I'd have spotted!) that would have contributed to it running lean. My chokes are a bit large for the standard cams (but good for top end power) so she won't pick up completely cleanly below 2500 but he's sorted the pops and bangs, no more spitting back through the filters and no power drop off above 5500 revs. She runs so much more cleanly now and sounds awesome. All in all a £115 well spent!1 point

I'd like to see him in a Le Mans LMP1. I'm betting the lap record for both quali and the race would come down by quite a bit...1 point

Agreed he is a fantastic driver. How great if he was allowed to drive other cars such as historic race cars at Goodwood events. His love of driving would be one to see as he adapted his undoubted skills to a blower Bentley 🙂1 point

And BIG well done to Lewis from, he WILL go down as one of the all time greats, and he flies our flag to boot.🇬🇧🍾👍 It was also great to hear all the tributes to Niki, saying that Mercedes and Lewis could not have done it without him😢1 point

He is a natural driver. As others have said, it's impossible to compare with others of the past with any authenticity because so much has changed, but Jim Clark will always be my No.1 for natural ability is everything he drove. Fangio was before my time, and Schumacher was a cheat in at least one of his championships and several races, and certainly did not command the respect his ability deserved for that reason. Bottas seems a decent sort with few signs of tantrum, but Verstappen's behaviour this past weekend lost all respect from me, sorry. There was a rather mean-spirited interview with Jackie Stewart on 'Today' this morning. He could hardly bring himself to praise Lewis's success without implying it was mainly the cars that were responsible. Poor show 'Sir' Jackie, and very well done Lewis!1 point

He is a great driver, no question. Whether he is "the all time best" really isn't possible to judge. There have been many really good drivers over the decades, and you can only really compare one with another if they drive, or drove, against each other and even then it depends on how good their respective cars are. However, in Louis's case, it is significant that he has won world championships in 2 different makes of car, and generally speaking has been quicker than his various teammates. So he beat Alonso to the championship and Alonso had been a champion; he was generally quicker than Rosberg, even though Rosberg beat him to the championship one year the records show that Louis had a lot of bad luck with reliability issues and it has to be said one or two self-imposed accidents; and against Bottas, although Bottas has won races including of course the latest one, more often than not Hamilton has beaten Bottas in the races. Personally, I'm a great fan of Hamilton. The German shoemaker was undoubtedly a great driver. and I would be delighted if Hamilton can get one more world title to match Shuey. Mind you, Max and Charles are both going to be mighty quick and difficult to beat in the next few years, given comparable cars in performance terms.1 point

love him or hate he's claiming a position as one of the F1 greats and flying the flag for GB1 point

Hah, don't worry Adge, pretty sure if new built cars were let in most would be struggling to beat me at the rate I'm going anyway, but it's OK, I'm sure I can try to win it in a few year's time instead!1 point

Would enter, but the rules discriminate against cars less than three years old Tongue in check comment I may add!1 point

deffo enter, sadly many of that do (or have done) the big mileages aren't necessarily eligible due to being AO's, on the committee etc. so there's always a chance1 point
