  1. After life getting in the way, spent a bit of time and money and it is now running a healthy and smooth 130bhp after a carb tune. New tyres and tracking and now running great.

  2. Don’t forget the front ones are adjustable to take up any small degree of play. (Not worn to the point of rumbling bearings or excess play, but if there’s only a little play, they may just have bedded in and need a tweek).

  3. Absolutely cracking weekend. I'm sure the organisers thought they had invited the circus when on P1 on Saturday 4 of the 8 found the grass or gravel, one of us did 3 laps and one set off on red. Highly recommended for anyone next year. Fingers crossed we get invited back.

  4. Well, by my reckoning, John has done it again! Champion for third time after a late start when the MSA initially denied him a licence. Well done John, maybe now you'll fit some slicks and have a proper challenge running with the big dogs?

  5. Weather is looking good for this Sunday, and there doesn't look to be any peak district run on So thought I'd ask around see if any one fancies a ride out somewhere, I am midlands based so can travel to Wales, Peaks, or the north Cotswolds, If any one fancies it or can share any good routes i'm all ears. 6. I have to say that biggest surprise for me this season was Matt Turner. Consistent front runner, beating Terry on several occasions, doing two championships and driving at the very top of his game. A lot of excellent results this year and very close to being champion. Well done Matt, you've done Yorkshire proud mate😀

  7. If you take the dust caps off the centre of the bearing - they just press in, you'll see a greased up castellated nut beneath with a split pin securing it. (Because the split up can only go in certain positions, it's possible to be slightly slacker than ideal, when first built). Pop the pin out, and try turning the nut by one division and then pinning it up again, see how that goes. (If it's very slack, it might need tuning a couple of divisions.)

  8. The front is a taper bearing, using a castellated nut and split pin so nowhere near that tight. Basically just tighten it until the play is removed then back off until the split pin locates. Plenty youtube videos if you're unsure...

  9. 32mm Scott I did mine the start of the year, I have access to a press a work so able to take in the hub assembly and press out/in. Torque is 330Nm for hub nut on the rear shaft, not sure if its the same torque for the front.

  10. It’s with a heavy heart that I’m going to have to give up ownership of any ‘toy’ car at the moment as we have run out of funds to renovate our house and the Westfield will have to go 😭. Hopefully in the New Year I will have something in place (selling a kidney etc.) to buy another one but in the short term she will have to go. In short, this is an odd car in that it’s essentially brand new and only done 150 miles. I bought it from a fellow member that decided it was a bit too savage and wasn’t for him. I’ve done some homework and realised the Blackbird engine has a reputation in some circles for not being the most robust engine for the Westfield in the lubrication department if not properly engineered. My car when I bought it, not having either a dry sump or an Accusump installation was probably the reason for the initial low mileage and lack of use. Good news is that this is now completely sorted thanks to Andy at AB Performance. He suggested a particular Accusump installation and with his advice on chek valve hardware, adapter plate plumbing electric valve Accusump operation and baffle plate this is now a completely usable road / trackday friendly car. It was IVA tested and properly registered in 2017 so bears a ‘17 plate registration too. Everything (apart from the donor engine) was new at build and high specification. The underside is as clean as the top side!, discs still have hatching marks on them etc.! Spec as follows: Engine 2002 CBR1100XX fuel injected Blackbird engine with approximately 26k miles, Fully mapped Power Commander. Westfield sump and baffle plate, Canton 4 pint Accusump with electric operation plumbed using the best ‘flap’ type low pressure Chek valve, Oil cooler, Fuel pressure regulator, Pipercross air filter, Westfield’s exhaust system. Gearbox Quaife reverse gearbox. Diff Sierra XR4x4 LSD Body ZK Chrome yellow unblemished bodywork, V8 bonnet, Carbon effect rear lights, RAC roll bar, Carbon effect front cycle wings, Carbon effect rear arch guards, Carbon effect boot panel, Double bubble aero screen with carbon mirror, Carbon effect front lights. Interior Westfield padded race seats with yellow stitching, Willans 4 point harnesses, Carpeted, Carbon dash with full array of Stack instrumentation including Stack ST700 Race dash display with config button and dial. Quick release steering wheel. Chassis IVA tested in 2017, correctly registered on a ‘17 plate SEiW Mega chassis with only 150 miles from new. Brakes Willwood front brakes with drilled discs and mintex pads, Sierra rear disc brake setup, Wheels and Tyres Team Dynamics 13x7 rims, Yoko Advan-032R tyres. Suspension Gaz front and rear dampers, Standard track width front. As ever, give me a call on 07814 359423, happy to chat to you. Price is now £11,750

  14. You are correct Luke, the weather is superb this weekend but we are on holiday so there will be no activity from us. We will be back in action on the 22nd though. Have a great day and don't forget the pics! xxx

  15. Day one with registration plates fitted and the westie is in getting some love! Unfortunately my rear springs are a bit too soft and are ending up spring bound when setting the ride height so new springs on the way! To be fair, the car is about 80kg heavier than I was expecting when I ordered the suspension originally. Might have to take a drive up again in the morning if we don't get it all finished today. I say "have to" as though I won't be out driving the car again tomorrow morning anyway!

  16. I've done mine a couple of winters ago. Really easy job with 2 routes. First off, buy some decent quality bearings from (say) Burtons,, then either buy a bearing tool (looks like a big tapeted washer you hit with a hammer) or take your hubs round to your local garage and get them to fit them for you (about £10-£20 depending how tight the garage is) I've replace my offside one twice and gone both routes above, buying a cheap bearing tool from eBay the second time. The key is getting the old bearing out then the new one in square

  18. Northampton Motorsports, I can't sing their praises enough, they sorted my car out when I first purchased it and it still runs sweet now. I don't think that you will struggle to keep up in the Peak District though Nigel, my car makes everyone feel powerful in comparison. power vs rpm.pdf
