  2. The very lovely and friendly Derek Overfield from the Robin Hood Owners Club has organised a weekend gathering for all kit car owners and the date has been set for the 15th and 16th August, 2020. It is at the Grand Central Railway Station, Quorn, Loughborough, LE12 8AG. The car park will be dedicated to kit cars, except for disabled visitors, and is huge, accomodating over 200 cars. If you arrive in your kit car then you will be entitled to privileged rates on the trains which are nearly half price. The Tin Shed bar and marquee will be open during the event and there is a possibility there could be entertainment on Saturday evening. The Butler Henderson Cafe will be open for food and hot drinks both days. Camping for caravan and trailer tents can be accomodated on the car park, there will be a small fee for hook up. There is a possibility of using a field next to the station for tents but this is subject to confirmation at the moment. There are overnight toilet facilities at the station and one shower. Entry is FREE for kit car drivers and their passenger I am sure you all have lots of questions but this is not my event and I do not have any answers. For now please put the date on your car calendar and tell your friends about it. I am sure lots more information will be put out there nearer the time, it is something to look forward to next summer. Mmm, I wonder where the nearest Premier Inn is? πŸ˜€πŸšΏ

  4. One of our well loved members, has a mild mannered passenger (who never drives their Westie). He had a previous life in advertising and world wide adventures. I've been sworn to stay silent for too long and can no longer keep his exploits secret any longer. I suspect I'll be stonned to death by cakes shortly........ After many years of secret filming I will now share the adventures of Tango Man: More to follow over future weeks, including Tango Man's other worldwide travels, and more recent adventures closer to home............

  5. Hi all! After about 40 years hankering after a sevenesque car, I finally took the plunge at the weekend and I'm the very proud owner of a gorgeous Westfield! I've always been a petrol head and have recently put together a track day R53 BMW Mini (that my eldest is now inheriting). Being 6ft 4 I wanted a wide bodied car and ideally a 2.0 zetec or redtop, and I also like the more modern cycle wing look. After much searching, I finally found one I fell in love with, a '96 SEIW in yellow and carbon fibre with a 2.0 blacktop, twin 45 Weber's, TD 1.2's, Gaz coilovers etc and loads of history. John, the previous owner (a really nice guy!) was a long term member of the WSCC and recommended I join. I'm sure people here will know the car. She's not perfect or a show car, but she's all mine! 😁 I'm looking forward to meeting some other owners (weather permitting!) and picking your brains when I inevitably start fettling, fixing and upgrading! Great to be part of the Club! Rob

  8. Thanks! Great memory! Yes she was indeed owned by Carpet Stu, John mentioned him when I bought it (but I couldn't remember his name!). It still has the carbon mods fitted. I'm treating her to a new coolex 55mm rad at the weekend (running a bit warmer than I like) and I'm currently trying to track down an earth leak.. 5 days in and the fettling has started! 😁

  12. Welcome! The car's been through several long term members, if it's the one I think it is. If my (poor) memory serves, wasn't it Carpet Stu's in the early/mid 2000's, who oversaw a lot of Carbon Mods additions and general upgrades?

  13. I do remember the car because of the logo (Jordan F1 livery) but can’t remember the member. Hardly a surprise when I can barely remember what I had for breakfast. Welcome on board and have a great time!
