Hi here’s a couple of pictures of our westy full doors sfs half hood with easy out zips if you zoom in on the ferry picture you can see how it attaches we did 3500 miles round Europe and even in torrential rain We stayed dry ( just confirmed by my wife) and the air flow with the half hood meant no misting up of the screen and doors I do keep a couple of microfibres cloths handy as back up in case they’re needed1 point

Here's hoping that all the rain will be used up this week - it's been a wash-out summer so far!1 point

Ha! I get back from Spain the night before, so preparation might be a bit last-minute 😉 Looking forward to it, thanks for organising and arranging for the good weather 👍😁1 point

Saturday night get-together is the bar at the Barony Castle Hotel. Table booked for at least 12, meals are priced same as pubs in Peebles, big carpark well off the road, and just a couple of miles out from Peebles if you prefer to taxi (those staying in Peebles could group together and get a 6+ seater taxi?). 12 sleeps to go! Cars and paraphernalia sorted yet?1 point

Great idea, totally agree on the extra material going forward idea, Ideally covering the two triangular rear vents on the V8 bonnet to the front, and tucking over the top of the bodywork at the rear, to keep rain off the boot lid joint. Be aware that there are two heights of windscreen and Jap roll bar in common use on the FW though; the original height, (which I have) and the taller windscreen version that's common on the Sport 250, but available for all Westfields.1 point

Yes , I did get some steel ones made . They were made by Steve Davies who used to frequent this forum but no longer has anything to do with Westfields as far as I know. Given your location I would speak to Luke Alger1 point

We met Martin, Richard and Tash in Baslow where the tarmac was dry until we got to the reservoirs at Ladybower. There is a reason why the reservoirs are there, it rains, but with the quiet roads we were making good progress and kept going roofless. We drove past a car on it's roof with 2 lads looking rather peeved about it, that Mortimer Road takes no prisoners. I found the limit of my tyres on a tight, blind bend with a deer waiting for me around the corner - interesting to say the least. Martin's Duratec nicely growled behind me, not a tune that I am used to as we have no Duratecs in the Peak District. We arrived at the Carding Shed and I must apologise to Matthew as his is the only car that I didn't get on camera. There were 10 cars, not 9 as photographed. 40 people sat down to a Full English Breakfast and by the smiles on their faces they all enjoyed it, I did mine. No-one on this table liked Black Pudding so an imitation Blackpool Tower was made out of it, I must sit with you lot next time as I could have eaten the scraps, it was tasty and good quality. We took the tour of the garage next, maybe I spend too much time talking to Westfield builders and rebuilders but I thought it might have been a bit more technical. It was still interesting listening to the stories of the people behind the cars and it does make owning a Westfield feel like an economical hobby. Bet you never thought you would hear that! Anyway, Dave was happy And Paul had found The Manchester dangler Up Car Club After all the goodbye's, we set off roofless with Martin, Richard and Tash in drizzle and very soon found the dry tarmac again, which turned to full on sunshine by the time we passed the reservoirs. We called in Calver Crossroads Insomnia Cafe to top the sugar levels up. Richard and Tash Richard and Tash guarding the cakes It was lovely to meet Martin and his classy looking car. He has worked hard to update the car from Pinto to Duratec and it shifts. It was lovely to see Richard and Tash again with their rally days stories of The Mortimer Road in the dark, no wonder you were sideways!! Great fun. Lastly thank you to Robin for being a super, top bloke and organising this day for us all, your efforts are very much appreciated.1 point

Some more of the SDV specific parts would be nice to see too. For example the Mazda SDV front upper wishbones are on the web shop but not the front lowers, or any of the three rears and the rear lower camber adjusters. Front upper ballpoints are also shown but not the lowers and then there's also the extension loom for the wiper motor. I notice the manifolds for the 1800 engine are also showing but not the 1600, or have these now been discontinued with the other SDV upgrade parts? Does the web-shop also have a facility to show current stock levels against parts?1 point

It also depends on the position of your steering wheel. Mine sticks out a bit. I am 6ft(ish) tall and have pushed my jk seat forward a bit, tilted it backwards a bit (bit of wood at the front end), have a flat floor and fit just fine! I'm a bit scrunched up and that might not suit everyone. Just to repeat - get yourself along to your local meet and try 'em all out. Big Ron in Yorkshire has a narrow and fits in his with a bit of a squeeze. He's just huge!1 point
