  7. It is great to see what an outsider see. While I was doing the visit trough the parts of the factory I'm really used to... I was wondering how the others would see it. I'm pleased to know you had more enthusiasm than me on it (I'm on the 100 picture too :P)

It lasts around 2 hours. Due to the early start, I will be at the Red Kite (WF4 3BB) at 8am, leaving at 8:15 aiming to get to the Carding Shed for 8:45. @Dave (OnliestSmeg) - Manchester AO is organising a meeting point for people coming from his side. The Carding Sheds address is, Washpit Mills, Green Lane, Holmfirth, HD9 2RD. There are 2 car parks, we will park in the top one, newer and better photos. The road in is a bit "dodgy", so be careful. If anyone else wishes to join, extra places can be paid for on the day. Thanks to all who's coming, and looking forward to a good morning.

  10. Yesterday evening saw the North Oxford Group enjoy our monthly meeting at the Rock of Gibraltar pub at Enslow. The weather was definitely suitable for Westfields and, despite several of the group being away on holiday, four of Kingswinford's finest came out. We sat outside and I ended up chatting to a couple from Mid Wales who were visiting Oxfordshire for this weekend's Countryfile Live show at nearby Blenheim Palace. We soon got onto the subject of good Welsh roads over which to enjoy sports cars. I am pleased to report that I knew every single one that he suggested (I'm down there a lot for scenic tours and stage rallies)! I then had a longer chat with another couple who had been driving by and saw the Westfields parked outside. They have a Lotus Elan +2 and the gentleman was looking for something a little more track focused. He was aware of Westfield Elevens and was appreciative of a good look over mine and seemed to be heading off to consider either buying one ready built or considering building his own! I have discovered with my car that not only do you buy into Westfield ownership with an Eleven but it's close similarity with it's Lotus inspiration taps you into another vein of interest - and the two marques seem to sit comfortably together (unlike some less well conceived replicas of other "classics"). 12. We have a few Cheshire members (and ex members) on bikes, it is more complicated, that’s for sure, on shared runs. And as we’ve learnt, never at night!

  14. Yea, I know.. about 400 miles? Its about 3hrs on a good day for me. It always surprises me when I meet people there, that have travelled longer, from north of the circuit.

  16. Sorry to re-float this... but, appears, once again, that class A has a harder Target times than C in one of the days. I'm not sure what maths are you using guys, but the formula that is giving as a result that a roadgoing car with road tyres should be faster than a roadbased-modified car with non road tyres, is obviously wrong...

  23. Thank you all for the ongoing interest and for your patience. I'm waiting for exact prices. We have a location in the north and south. I chased confirmed costs this week, the moment I hear any news I'll update immediately. It will be this year with more planned for next year.

  27. That's a lot posher than we used to have in the Royal Navy, when I served in Faslane we had AFD 60 (Admiralty Floating Dock No. 60), we were able to take our Sub's out of the water in short order if required (and because they were still technically still 'afloat' we didn't have the bothersome regulatory issues with Nuclear Licensing) Ironic that 26 years later I'm working on a programme in Rosyth to dismantle our old Resolution Class Submarines, but we're doing that in a conventional dry dock ! Nem.....

  29. I was a wet behind the ears fresh engineer having worked for about 9 months at Spax after finishing university (Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering.) Little did I know that i’d Quit 9 months later, do 2 other damper design jobs and then return 18 months later. And stay.. The Westfields back then all had Spax, up to about 1999-2000.
