For our recent "Sausage Tour" I needed a new luggage rack to fit my MSA roll bar as the old rack was to wide to fit. So this is it.......20mm Aluminium box section and 12mm aluminium tube. Bolted onto the roll bar struts with exhaust clamps and still having access to the fuel tank filler, the rack carried approx 20kg of luggage for over 1000 miles. Best part.........it only weighs 2kg!7 points

I thought I'd give my own mojo a little lift here and remind myself and anyone who's seen my car before what's been happening to it over the last five years of ownership. It's a 1989 narrow body SE, crossflow powered with a solid axle, chassis number 955. This car had laid dormant between 1999 and 2014 when I became it's new owner. It's taken the past five years to turn a wheel again due to all the reasons that we encounter, life, finance, more life, less life, fewer finances, circumstances and the often present lack of mojo. This year I was determined to get it back on the road and enlisted the help of a local sports car specialist who have a history with kits and specials to give it the once over and get it MOT'd. A few hiccups along the way just working through 30 year old wiring but it's now running and driving. As always, there's a list as long as our collective arms of things to do, but at least I can enjoy it now. It's become my runaround for local trips. Here's the car the day I collected it. and just last week. I've a blog post where details appear and I really ought to follow the examples of others and list the costs, even though that gets frightening!3 points

Chris, The car at Silverstone and all Chesil cars past and future have and will have painted GRP bodies. The car on display was the prototype Chesil E which was originally built in 2002 and retro fitted with the the motor and batteries. Simon3 points

At first glimpse I thought it was Clark Howe’s newly restored Speedster. 😀2 points

a lovely looking car and it’s always a way to revive/ lift “ mojo” as life gets in the way for that reason I keep my build photos form collection to completion and the holiday pics when your drive drops or the weather isn’t playing ball it gives you the enthusiasm to push through it a run out for a coffee or to a favourite place does wonders aswell, even on your own, we all need a lift from time to time heres one of my fave pick me up pics-and one from this year1 point

Giggles, yep can be an absolute nunney with the risk of damage. Maybe try your local independent garage or service centre?1 point

My 18 yr old daughter wanted to try a trackday a few years ago, only 2 months after she passed her driving test. So took her with me to an airfield trackday and took her a passenger at first to see if she was ok with the speed we go at. That was ok with her so I asked the organisers (Javelin) if she could drive round the taxiways to accustom herself with the Westfield at a slower speed and they were ok with that. In the afternoon she was confident to drive on the circuit and she did ok, I was proud of her, even though she got into couple if spins. Now, if you approach it in the same way at Abingdon airfield with MSE, I'm sure they help your dad out, just ask them. Look after Dad and make his day.1 point

As you've discovered, it's really all about the layout and the storage . I took a career break with my wife in 2003 and lived in this for 18 months: At a little over 10m, it took some careful planning... We later swapped to a 6m Hymer A class, which I'd argue is the perfect size for 2, but when kids arrived we changed to caravans. Much as I like the current caravan, I'll be changing back to a 7m motorhome as soon as the kids are bigger and finances allow. No matter how much you research, you really wont know what suits you best until you try - so really assume the first one is just to allow you to work out what the second one should be...1 point
