Hi Guys/gals Just a quick hello really to introduce ourselves. Totally new to the Westfield/Kit Car world, having previously raced Mitsubishi Evo's in the main. Were looking to enter a Westy into Time Attack next year, so i would love to pick peoples brains for opinions, suggestions and reccomendations if thats ok. Weve been kindly invited by Westfield to visit the factory on August 10th to see how they are produced and sit down to discuss options etc so looking forward to that. Many Thanks in advamce1 point

Our first camper was a self-built MWB LT35 (Sprinter) and found that big in some circumstances. The new camper we've started building is on a 6.5t Fuso 4x4 chassis, and that's still only just over 6.2 metres. That one you're looking at is 7.5 metres, and due to the north-south island bed, there's an awful lot hanging out past the back axle - and then hang bikes on the back or a-frame something? - it's got more a**e than Kim Kardashian! Is there anything you can compromise on? East- west bed? Wet bathroom instead of separate shower? Anything to get it shorter. Something that long'n'low restricts you to campsites - wild camping in sweet spots up the back of Scotland would be differcult.1 point

A good compromise for transport when you're pitched is a pair of e-bikes. Easy 30-40 mile range with good paniers will cover all your basic shopping and sight-seeing needs.1 point

Took me 6hrs to get back to Newcastle in the tin top. Weather and driving conditions horrendous and M1 at a standstill or crawling pace for hours. Glad I wasnβt doing THAT run in the Westy! But was well worth it as it was a cracking weekend! Edit typo - was 6 hrs. But felt like 8!1 point

Hmmm I wonder if there would be a way of setting up the boardroom to automatically post reminders of calendar events say a month before and then two weeks before so all events could get equal promotion.1 point

Or what about a wscc organised event at Curborough or Llandow??1 point

Speak to Motorsport events ltd, the run really good track days and also have individual private tuition on track away from the main body of cars which may suit better1 point

If he still has a driving license, then I don't see why he couldnβt do a track day. I donβt remember being asked health or age questions, although an organiserβs disclaimer is usual. If a track day is too adventurous, maybe a local friendly open air kart track might let him have a few laps, by himself of course, not with a swarm of Lewis Vettels. Good on you and good on your dad. If he finds an MG TC in the back of his shed, tell him Iβll look after it. Growing old is mandatory, growing up isnβt. Good luck.1 point

Just drop Patrick or Jason an email with the stuff you were trying to order. I've had this a couple of times with discount codes and they've always sorted it afterwards if I've sent the email in during the discount period.1 point

Hey Everyone! The sun has been shining (mostly) and everyone's been moaning it's too hot (tradition) but I have started seeing my local Kit owners out and about! So if you're looking at getting your pride and joy out for the summertime, almost finished building or perhaps it's still in bits! We have more Kit Car schemes than ever available to us and policies from fully comprehensive cover to laidup/build cover - so there should be something for everyone Now the bad news: I am on maternity leave still so you can't have the absolute pleasure of speaking to me on the phone - I'm still online supporting though as I have a genuine love for the clubs and still want to look after you all. My team in the office are just as awesome (or nearly) and will look after you - 01635 874646 if you want a quote, or to request a call back pop some details in here: https://www.aplan.co.uk/common-pages/get-a-quote?root=1109&page=1695&int=809 Much love! Officially ready for the season! Was up at track developments today near castle combe. Geo and corner weights done. 560kg with 1/3 of tank. The car was a bit darty when pushing on. Turns out it was quite toe'd out. Corrected to a bit of toe in and weights sorted out. Cars more settled now. Dave really knows his stuff I would definitely recommend.1 point

Driving home from North Yorkshire at daft o'clock with my headlights on and there was a noticable wobble as the light shone on the traffic signs. Had a good look at it today and where it was welded last time it has weakened again, you know it will give way at some highly inconvenient moment so it is off π’. Rita is off the road.0 points
