Today was hot , very hot, blue skies all day and temperature hit 40 degrees, all cars were just under 100 degrees, hottest conditions I’ve drove in, the gear stick was too hot, cars keys were too hot to touch when I turned engine off. I fixed my speed sensor but in doing do touched the brake disc with my finger which made a noise like bacon frying😂 we drive through a beautiful area called Parc Naturel Régional des Vosges du Nord with some great twisties but got stuck behind a timber wagon not stopping to let the train of cars past. so we pulled over for lunch at a mountain top cafe and those who ate regretted it after the bill came, very expensive. Me and Nakki were sat close to a German Man who was stood by his motor bike in the shade and he fainted and dropped to the floor like a bag of spuds due to the heat, I helped him out and made sure he had not bumped his head when he fell, all was ok. The last half of the journey we made regular stops for rehydration. When we arrived at the hotel Temper tantrum terry had not booked guaranteed parking so cars are round the corner but are in a secure underground. Koblenz for two nights - quite close to the ring 😎5 points

First MOT today and first pass. On Sunday, I ran as course opening car on the Maharajah's Tour (a 70mile scenic tour around Oxfordshire finishing at a great little car show in the village of Stoke Row. The rest of my photos from the day were cr*p. I relied on my mobile phone but the lens was dirty and, in the bright sunshine, I could not check the images well enough.5 points

Very nice! Here is Flo my 5 year old loving the Winter ride out. I use an inflatable 'Bumbo' booster seat from Halfords and switch the harness behind the seats to make sure they are closer on the shoulders. Her two favourite phrases are 'Louder, Daddy, Louder' and 'Put the pedal to the metal' - obviously I have no idea where these come from?5 points

@Chris Broster - Bristol & Bath AO Perks indeed. I had the zetec. Went for a haircut everyone in the shop loved it, all came outside and had a look. Then went for a drive round the local area. Fantastic evening for it. Shame I'm now stuck in the office. Maybe one day I'll get my own I didn't take an images this time. Next time I'll be sure to take a few. The first few times I took a car out for a drive it was pictures galore. I'm wanting to take my boy out in it. Would love to see his face light up.5 points

Just a point regarding the Photographer, Ian Dowding who covered the Shelsley 21st for us last year is there on Sunday, if people want Westfield pictures he will be happy to oblige and is a Loton regular so knows his way around. Craig2 points

It's NEVER too hot for a Westfield, are you nuts? A jacket, mon dieu! Shorts and a little t shirt, loose linen shirt to stop burning... Yes I was also a biker! Only pulling up in the shade Betty Swollocks. That's why I drive a wez! Ps. I don't have any... You know whats2 points

I've been out in the Eleven in the past week - including running as course opening car on the Maharajah's Tour (a 70 mile scenic tour in Oxfordshire). Usual summer attire for me - shorts and Hawaiian shirt and the only issue is where my head sticks well up in the airflow over the wraparound aeroscreen, I end up with hair like Jedward! A 61 year old man with a comb in the door pocket to supplement the Dzus fastener removing key - whatever next! Simon1 point

I remember driving my V8 in this weather, the heat from the engine and the hot sun beating down in traffic was horrid. However, with a lovely cool Zetec and amazing airflow the FW is a joy to drive in this weather :-)1 point

What provocation? Seriously, how does a rational explanation get construed as provocation?1 point

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone @Keith the Teeth @Alex Gaskin (and Dad) @cphelps @graham frankland @MarkBishop - it was a great day out at a great venue - one to be repeated next year. Impressive driving from all competitors and interesting to see how times improved so much across the weekend - Adam must be happy with his fastest, it was certainly stonkingly quick to watch. Great to see such team spirit from Graham letting Mark drive his car. Here are my photos and video footage of the day, finally uploaded to youtube - sorry for the sound, I must get an external mic for the iphone. I think I got some footage of all of you. I look forward to seeing you at other events; perhaps one day my car will be in the paddock with you. Dave1 point

Today we have had a run out to the Black Forest area and it truly is a lovely place, plenty of twisties and we visited a mountain lake called Mummelsee for some Black Forest gateau😁 The temperature this afternoon was 38 degrees so extreme weather for both us and the cars which were getting a bit hot but all was good. Terry was getting a bit agitated so he had to use some of his special cream we got for him 🤩 I also found a rather large sausage which Wayne has taken a picture of. Tomorrow we travel to Koblenz for a two night stop.1 point

I have to agree, it was the best day in the Peak District for me in along time! I got the car home under its own steam and not making any funny noises 😊1 point
