  1. yes @NigelO it was @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary that taught me the rule 'why choose when you can have both' and I am a good girl and stick to it rigidly. I think ice cream was involved that day too! I sat in Sainsburys car park in my Westfield, ready for the off, AndrewBC fired up his 3.5 V8 at one side, and oh my, AndyR fired up the Cobra 3.5 V8 at the other side. I could just have sat there for the day dying of CO poisoning, but hey what a way to die. Andy's very, very lovely Cobra, brand spanking new and thank you very much for bringing it out today. Nigel, Andy and Ann, Andy and Andrew met us at Matlock Nigel was on hand with his usual photography tips 'Get on the floor, Julie' We wiggled a route for about a hour North which included the Snake Pass and to be fair it was expected to be pretty busy on a sunny, summer, Sunday afternoon. We arrived at the Snake Pass Inn, which is always quiet because the walkers don't come in until mid afternoon, after their walks. Snake Pass Inn A lot of the trees have been cut back to reveal a bit more of a view from the car park. It made sense for AndyR to leave us here as he has come from that direction, so the 4 Westfield's went chasing cake, and it put up a bit of a fight. The new cafe has opened on the Monsal Trail at Millers Dale, so we went there, but the car park was full with nowhere to even shoe horn a few little cars in. On the quieter and pretty roads we back whacked across towards Monyash to bring us to Tagg Lane for cake and/or ice cream. Thank you everyone for coming all the miles that you do in your beautiful cars, it has been a lovely day xxx

  3. Another great day out in Derbyshire, spoilt in places by the sheer number of cyclists (and at one point, idiot car drivers too - one car driver actually got left behind by a cyclist down a hill....) Great seeing Andy's immaculate Cobra - makes a change from "the other Andy's" V8 (although the Cobra definitely needs a lot less silencing... ) Julie's intended cake stop was thwarted by a full car park, so a detour to Tagg Lane was swiftly executed - the choice was ice cream or cake, but Julie substituted "or" with "and"...

  4. Slipped anchor at 05:30 this morning for a lovely little run around north Wales. Since the revenue-hungry North Wales constabulary decided to spoil the evo triangle with average speed cameras, the above three towns have become my B-road choice of triangular excitment. This mornings run was particularly nice due to the superb weather. As ever, I had the roads to myself for the vast majority of the time. The only downside was the Ponderosa wasn't yet open for a pit stop on the way home.... Mornings like today are why I have a Westfield.....

  8. Just home and sat down in all 217 fun miles today. Unfortunately Les and his son were unable to join us at the last minute so 3 cars headed off from Grantown East on some cracking back roads for an excellent run today A big thanks to @Chris King - Webmaster and Joint North East AO And his good lady for welcoming us and topping us up with tea and coffee , hope you enjoy the butteries and shortbread 😁 to Gary and to David for their company , banter and local knowledge of the back roads and I must admit to “being temporarily unaware of my location “ for most of the afternoon which culminated at David and Elaine’s for coffee before Gary and ourselves headed for home, splitting again at carbridge and Gary heading for the Laggan road for the third time today!!!!! We turned off and headed for home .... but .... confession #2 we stopped off at Grantown East for a cheeky lemon meringue pudding pizza mmmmm before our last leg home Anyway thank you all for making a great day out

  12. I know, frustrating. And I thought I was being clever getting it on Prime today, ready for the morning. Itonly sunk in when I got the "it's out for delivery" email, just doesn't say when, could be any time today. Oh well, at least I can crack on with the Honda!

  14. Lovely! And thank you so much for an unexpected treat 😁👍 As always, every time I happen to team up with any member of Clan McWesty, it’s a warm welcome and a friendly smile. Such a fantastic group and a credit to the club.

  16. Thanks for a great day out and remind me that my alternator belt needs tightening before the next trip 😂 I really couldn't believe that idiot car drive @NigelO ... even when she eventually overtook it was at the worst place when there had been plenty of other, and wider, parts of the road beforehand!

  21. from sunny Scotland and happy hunting when the time comes, meantime don’t be afraid to ask any questions we’re a friendly bunch here, like a big family rather than just “a club” as for power ( and I’m putting my head over the parapet here) you don’t need masses of power to have a very quick car, good, balanced suspension is worth quite a bit of horsepower, as said earlier come along to whatever events / meets are near you and get a feel for different options

  23. That's great Gary. I'm going to try to make it to Grantown East early too, so I can have a much needed coffee before we start! But if we don't see you at Grantown, we'll meet you at Newtonmore Co-op next to the Balavil Hotel. David
