That's right, I bought a stroller! Picking it up today. Slightly different one to that photo though. Took the Fezza out for a 'final hurrah' last night, my word I'm going to miss that noise. Please excuse Jane's warblings We'd not long been stopped by the police who were clearly on a fishing expedition - they were circling round a roundabout near a pub which had just hosted a car meet, with the ANPR cameras on checking for lack of MOT, tax, etc (start of the month, great weather). I'd just had the car MOTd the same day and the officer's opening line was 'So do Ferraris not need MOTs?'. At this point I relaxed, knowing I'd done nothing wrong! Turns out their system doesn't update in real time, only once a day, so with the MOT online checker it was all good. He thanked us for actually stopping rather than just legging it, and was complimentatry of the car. So, one chapter ends, and the other starts with a train journey down to Birmingham this morning...5 points

Well, things didn't go according to the original plan today. But only because another one was formed 😁 This came up at a price I couldn't refuse. Needed to move fast so still have to shift the Fezza, but have a deal agreed. This is the 650S, an evolution of the 12C. Same chassis and something like 85% the same components, but with a few important tweaks from lessons learned from the previous version. First impressions are that it's everything a supercar should be - looks amazing from every angle, comfortable and easy to drive normally, yet an absolute weapon when you press on! It is completely next level from the Ferrari, so much faster and more refined. The extra 10 years of technological development is quite clear. My dad likes it too, he was well chuffed to have a go!2 points

Only right to pop back into Tagg Lane Dairy on our way home. The convoy of 4 was now 3 as @westyjord87 needed to get some work done. The remaining 3 enjoyed some familiar roads. Car was rather grubby, once home. It has covered circa 1580 miles since it's last wash though! As were my shorts! We used the Whatsapp live location to assist navigation throughout our trip along with Tomtom and two sets of car to car headsets. 3 of us are back home on this shot.2 points

Booked a day off... Went to work as usual but spent the day on the Westfield. Replaced the rear poly bushes with Nylon. The last track day at Abingdon I was suffering with lack of rear grip. . It was as if once I really started to push hard on the rear it Would just give up and try and change direction. When I had it apart the left hand outer botton bush looked to have been chewed, allowing all sorts of geometry changes under load. It’s the one which still needs to be rubber or poly, not nylon. Not having time to mess about with scientific playing with one variable at a time I’ve waded in full on and changed everything. I’ve added some more rear camber, a bit less toe.. On the Milton Keynes handling course the rear feels to have loads and loads more grip. Hopefully it has not at the expense of turn in which I had abundance of.... roll on Blyton.1 point

We were quickly loaded into virtually the same spot on the same ferry that brough us out last Tue. To avoid @westyjord87 's car being tampered with by 'Doggers', we made sure he put his handbrake on himself this time! Never mind Alexa, we liked the lamp on the ferry, though given the more liberal culture in northern Europe, we didn't leave it on the 'dangerous' colour for long! We were blessed with another gentle crossing. Amazing to see how the sea has been poluted by windfarms!1 point

An appalling state of affairs, Bernie, and one that should not go unchallenged. While they turn out mob-handed for RTAs when, once assessed, a couple of people would do, I would not accept that attitude without a bl**** good go at them. At least a complaint to my MP (for what good that would do when he's David Lidington), and letters to the local press. I do not subscribe to Facebook, but I think I might open an account for the purpose of slagging the constabulary on their page.1 point

Heard numerous stories of folk being robbed who have CCTV evidence, when presented to the police they get told " very sorry but we do not have the resources to follow this up, here's your crime number for the insurance claim " One case in particular was the theft of a £ 2500 outboard motor from a friends boat who had clear CCTV footage of the culprits plus the tools they had used for the job and left behind , same reply from Mr Plod " not enough resources " In other words , don't wast our time , we are much to busy collecting revenue from proper criminals1 point

Very sorry to hear that you are still suffering from this, John. I thought it was cellulitis, but why does it keep recurring? As I understand it, cellulitis can be treated with quite a range of antibiotics, and in view of the fact that it keeps recurring I wondered if the GP has considered trying a different antibiotic? All best wishes from me, anyway.1 point

Hi John, a lot of good advice and as others have said you have a few too many underlying health issues which could be affecting your ability to deal with other health issues. You didn't say where you were bitten, in this country or abroad as that can have a big differential in what you may have. If you were abroad did you have any vaccines etc. My advice is to be a little less understanding with your Dr. GP's are wonderful but limited with what comes through their doors. I would ask to see an Endocrinologist who will do a battery of tests on bloods your GP will not have requested. They will check everything is fine at a hormonal level, with the exception of the swelling legs Thyroid issues could explain many of your symptoms. After that ask to see a specialist in tropical medicine as suggested they will see things your GP has no idea of. It will be a process of elimination for sure. Unfortunately there are too many GP's who will look at your health record and dismiss other things because of your weight, I have been there as I am similarly short for my weight. Again keeping an accurate diary of everything will help the medics as well and be really detailed, what you eat each day, what you drink, exercise. All these things will show if there is a trigger food for example. When you go to see the GP or specialist take your notes and also a partner, wife or mate who can prod you as sometimes you are too busy listening and actually miss saying something important This could take a long time to get to the bottom of but you have to start somewhere on that process of elimination and diet is probably the best place to start and will help your other issues. The key thing is do not give in or get downhearted there are wonderful medics who will not dismiss you because you are stout and will get there1 point

Well, thanks again for all the ideas chaps It's given me a huge range to mull over and it's really opened my eyes to what's available, a lot of stuff I'd not even considered! There's a bit more to this than I've mentioned so far, but I've decided what to do... In short I'm hoping to be able to work back up through some of the cars in this thread in the future, but for now the divorce I'm having to deal with (and the fairly unsavoury circumstances surrounding it) means I'm unlikely to ever be in this position again. So I've decided to go balls out. You only live once and all that. Have some final arm-wrestling to do with the dealer on the finer details, but should be collecting this little fella next week all being well... I currently have an F430 Spider which I had planned to hang onto as an investment, but honestly I don't really enjoy driving it. The coolest thing about that car has been letting mates drive it, random strangers asking to take a look (and seeing how chuffed they are that the answer is always yes!), my mum getting really excited by the bl**** wonderful noise it makes - but it always felt a bit fragile and as an 'investment' I didn't want to drive it as much as it deserved. It would have ended up being sold as part of the divorce settlement anyway so seems pointless to hang onto it. So for now I might as well chop that in and go for something that's a bit more 'me' - nerdy rather than flamboyant, amazing engineering, slightly more understated and more usable from day to day. I test drove a 650S and it felt a bit too hardcore. Insanely fast but perhaps a bit too 'focused' for road driving. This seems like a nice balance. There are many horror stories about huge warranty bills and massive depreciation, but going into it with open eyes, a lump of cash in reserve just in case and a top warranty from Thorney Motorsport, I'm hoping I can just enjoy it and deal with any issues pragmatically should they arise!1 point

In the majority of cars, 60mph average is probably too fast. However, in something like a Westfield, particularly a well sorted and powerful one, there is a trick you can use if you really want to. Take a picnic with you, and stop at a convenient point between each pair of cameras, and have a sandwich or a bag of crisps, and maybe half a cup of coffee or a cold drink, then carrry on until the next stop. You are very unlikely to average 60 mph then!1 point

OK, Ballot Paper has arrived so it's decision time. Even got some nice Back Boris badges from Peter Bone and Bill Cash. I know he's marmite, and a significant risk but it's Boris for me. Not sure I can support Jeremy since it was reported he deleted all his social media comments from 2016 to hide his Brexit views. (If Boris makes a mess I may have to remove this entry!) Interesting proposals for senior posts by the EU: Ms Lagarde for the ECB. No banking or economics background and found guilty of financial negligence in 2016. Ursula von der Leyen, seen in Germany as their weakest Minister and under investigation against massive contracts awarded to consultants. Josep Borrell, less than a year ago the Spanish Foreign Minister was fined £26k for insider trading. Roll on Brexit.0 points
