It was only 35 Degrees C when we left the museum for the short trip to our next hotel for the night. Bagpuss approved the Hotel selected by @Greenstreak-Andy D As always on arrival at a hotel after a hot days driving, a few jars of the local cooling down juice are consumed whilst we celebrate and discuss the great moments of the day. Showered and changed into our evening attire, we had another great meal washed down with more cooling down fluid. We then debate the following days departure time, given we’ve got another long day in the saddle to get to the ring. @Greenstreak-Andy D Says we don’t need to leave too early as it’s forecasted to be only 22 degrees at 7:00 😱 I hope he’s right 👍 We had a stroll at dusk after dinner and found a great palace a short walk away : www.schloss-ludwigsburg.de I’ve been melting all night and we’ve got the window open and a desk fan mounted on a chair between our beds 😱4 points

Well things are looking good for our Blyton trackway and sprint weekend. Near 30 Westfields competing in the sprints and a good attendance on the Friday trackday. It would be great if we could have lots of spectators etc to enjoy the weekend and make it a great event. Hope to see you there and remember spectating is free!!!!3 points

We arrived at the Porsche Museum just after 12 and parked in a spotless underground carpark (only EUR 4). Admission was a bargain EUR 8 each. The museum is only ten years old and clearly a lot of money spent on it. I persuaded the lady on the information desk to allow us to park our cars for a brief photo shoot on the foyer outside the entrance door, however her miserable boss said ‘Nein’ as they aren’t Porsches 😱3 points

Sadly we left Austria on Sunday to start our drive home. our route included driving the Fern Pass however traffic was heavy and it was fairly tame compared to the great ones we’d driven earlier this week. Approximately 30 mins on our route on a national speed limit single carriage way, we were buzzed by a convoy of Porsche 918’s and Carrera GT’s. Regrettably we’ve no pics and the one car of us we’ve battery left in the Go Pro wasn’t filming 😂 We did pass them again a while later as they were refuelling and they (or a similar convoy) passed us shortly after when we were ‘watering the plants’. Once across the border ( no ones stopped us or looked at our passports since docking in Zeebrugge 😱) we took the Autobahn to reach our next destination, the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. we did pass several kits on the Autobahn, a couple on trailers and one joined our convoy for a while.3 points

I have now moved this thread over to another forum: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=47&t=1817335 I really appreciate those that have engaged and commented so far, it's been fun! However keeping one thread up to date is all I can handle, so doesn't make sense to keep this one going when I recognise this isn't really the right place for it. See you on the other side!2 points

Hi Guys, Just bought my Westie this week from Andrew at Toybox,my question is, are there any other Westie owners in and around Snowdonia, I'm based close to Caernarfon on the A4085, would love to meet up with any others local to me for a brew and a run into the mountains.1 point

Hi Ken, I'm happy to meet up with you in North Wales. I'm in Whitchurch but spend most of my miles between Llangollen, Ruthin, Cerrigydrudion, Machynlleth, Bala, Llynclys etc. @CosKev tries to keep up with me sometimes but he's just going through an engine transplant at the moment. Craig1 point

As Chris says, Powerline extenders are where it's at. https://www.amazon.co.uk/TL-WPA4220KIT-Powerline-Broadband-Configuration-UK/dp/B01LXOZ4EN/ref=sr_1_3?crid=Q44TNV5JZQOL&keywords=powerline+wifi+extender&qid=1561889185&s=gateway&sprefix=powerline%2Caps%2C134&sr=8-3 Plug the small one in next to your broadband router and connect it to the router with the supplied CAT5 patch cable. Plug the big one in to the garage and it will broadcast wifi. The plugs will use your 240 volt electrical cables in the house as "pseudo" ethernet cables. They work well. The item above uses only the 2.4Ghz frequency. If you are using modern phones or PC's you will want a device that uses the 5.0Ghz frequency so this fits the bill: https://www.amazon.co.uk/TL-WPA4220KIT-Powerline-Broadband-Configuration-UK/dp/B0723C86CX/ref=sr_1_3?crid=Q44TNV5JZQOL&keywords=powerline%2Bwifi%2Bextender&qid=1561889185&s=gateway&sprefix=powerline%2Caps%2C134&sr=8-3&th=1 With regards to speed, you'll never see 300Mb/s on 2.4Ghz wifi. It's a VERY long and slightly complicated set of reasons. Basically ignore the headline speed on the sales blurb for both 2.4 and 5.0Ghz frequencies. It's only attainable in very specific circumstances to do with channel width and number of antennas on both the device and the wireless access point. If you have "fibre internet" at home with speeds anywhere between 20 and 70Mb/s then you should be able to match this over the wireless on both 2.4 and 5.0Ghz frequencies. Finally both those say "plug and play" and they are BUT if you take a moment to set up the wifi plug to match the rest of your wifi (IE set the same SSID and password on the plug) then it will work seamlessly when you move into and out of the garage.1 point

Hi. I have followed this with much interest and I'm grateful for many of the honest posts. I'd like to suggest many if not all will some time in our lives have some challenges. And we are now accepting and discussing these issues more openly which must be a good thing. So let's keep it up and make these discussions acceptable. Not many know I was affected by meningitis a few years back and was very lucky considering what it can do. However I didn't fully escape and have severe hearing loss and tinnitus in one ear. Hearing loss is one thing, the tinnitus which people can't see never leaves me due to the nerve damage and is like being in the car with the window down at over 100 mph. 24 hrs per day. It's seriously loud . Makes being social within a group almost impossible. But what I'm saying is with time the brain can get the upper hand on these things and you can be in control. Keep up the good work and positive thoughts.1 point

Hello Adam. I think people who have met me would say I'm extrovert... So I might cast shadow on your post. I know many lively extroverts who have chronic anxiety, depression and a selection of other challenges mentally. I wish I wS a quiet person.. The only time is when my mood drops but no one sees as I hide away. So sorry you have had some low times... I've had a few recently but the sun really helps. I plan on spending winter in Spain in the sun but I have a new grandchild arriving in Feb so might have to rethink... I miss my car which doest help. She is still in recovery at the local garage since being retrieved from France. Driving is therapy for me...1 point
