Thanks indeed to you all for taking the time to post! What a fantastic adventure and brilliant write up. You are all a shining example of what makes this such a great club. And as a reward @Geoffrey (Buttercup) - North Yorkshire AO I will guarantee that as long as I’m the webmaster and you’re an AO your photo limit will be as much as you need 👍4 points

Someone is selling off loads of Tornado aircraft parts on ebay. My son bought a couple of bits that he hoped he could use as rear camber control arms on his CRX, but I don't think he can make them fit. Anyway, I've just searched "Tornado" in ebay, under aircraft parts, and there's tons of stuff. How about an engine? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aircraft-Tornado-RB199-Rolls-Royce-Engine-comes-complete-with-Cover-Ex-MOD/392217660135?epid=5030422829&hash=item5b51fe8ae7:g:AxoAAOSwH4dcQI30 Just thinking it would be really cool to have something off a fighter jet fitted to my car. Adjustable link thing bought, (two) pictured below:1 point

Hi all, just a reminder of the next Warwickshire meeting is on 20th June from around 7.30pm at The Falcon, Birmingham Road, Hatton, CV35 7HA. We may have an additional visitor to the meeting as Patrick, the Westfield Sportscars parts manager has indicated the he will attend, possibly in the current factory demonstrator . However, the weather is not looking too promising so it may be tin top time. We have no choice at present so definitely tin top for us . So if would like to put a face to the name at the end of the phone then please come along as Patrick is on a quest to meet members/owners at as many regional meetings as he can. See you Thursday!1 point

No it was a noisy day, don’t think it’s exhaust side now as that’s pretty quiet now I’ve repacked it. But the throttle bodies nearly burst my ear drums Yesterday having it mapped. I have brought a piper cross induction kit, if I can get that to fit it may do the trick👍1 point

Today I have been mainly joining the ranks of two Westfield owners! Home again after collecting it from a friend who’d decided to sell. Now I can stop making myself ill trying to get the “beast” ready in time. It’s a car not totally unknown to the club, though hasn’t been seen much for a few years. A lovely crisp, revy and light, so very light, 1.6 Sigma engined car, that’s a hoot to drive. Will need a few jobs doing before I sell it after the Honda’s done, ut it’s a cracker in the mean time.1 point

Yes, one of the biggest draws of the drift days is that you are able to learn in a purpose adapted car, on someone else’s tyres!! In the drift case, is usually been sticky fronts, with reinforced heavy duty van tyres on the rear, massively over inflated compared to normal. The whole idea is that the cars will break traction relatively easily and speeds that are easily contained and (comparatively) safe. Straight cut type 9 ‘boxes with the long first have normally been used, too, so you spend most of your time in first/second. And even then, things happen quickly while you’re at the wheel getting used to such a different driving style, so it certainly doesn’t feel slow!1 point

The Westfield drift days, at least in the past, have used a factory-supplied car so no need to thrash your own....!1 point

Car now back home after new crank and rebuild - crank seal decided to fail or wasn't fitted properly so had to go back for that to be sorted - now just waiting for me to get it run in and then rolling roaded. Then back in for some track action 😎1 point
