Keep up the great work Geoffrey and gang. We've really enjoyed every minute of this fantastic trip. Your photos and videos have made it feel like we were there with you, so a big thanks to all of you for taking the time and effort to do these updates as you went along, and sharing the ups and downs with us (literally and metaphorically!). We're just sad it's all over! David4 points

In my several trips through France, we hardly ever saw children. We thought that they must have been eaten, too! This thread has been one of the all-time greats - a consistently good read and as involving as a build thread. Well done, everybody. Simon4 points

If you get stuck you can get a company like ' Hartlebury propshafts' to cut out your centre tube sections and fit new H/duty ones. I did this and never twisted one after.1 point

Thank you Lord. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to test my wet weather gear today, ready for the YDG. Thank you for the perfect deluge and flood, as I was leaving home, which exposed the leakage points, of which there are many. Thank you for dumping the gallon of water that had collected on my half hood onto my seat as I squeezed into the car. Finally, thank you for bringing out the sun and blue skies as I arrived home. Amen.1 point

It's certainly a bit marginal either way given the circumstances and part of the track it occurred at (there really isn't a lot of room there at 100mph). From a rules perspective though... by the letter of the law after reading it, it does look like an unsafe return to the track. Do I agree with it? No, I think it's a silly decision. I don't get the amount of uproar targeted from different camps at the drivers/teams. Lewis is totally entitled to ask the question (Seb would do - in fact has done - exactly the same), Mercedes are entitled to refer it to the stewards for review (Ferrari would also do exactly the same without a doubt). The entire sport is based around teams/drivers/engineers pushing to the limits of the rules to get any advantage they can and this is no different. Anyone that thinks the other side would do anything different if the tables were turned is mistaken. At the end of the day the only people responsible are the stewards, and they made their call based on the FIA regulations. They are the things that need looking at as even though they have been allowed to declare more "racing incidents" of late, it still feels pretty rigid (even the appeals process for example). Personally I wish the panel of 5 experts at the track had carte blanche on rulings, with it legislated that the rules are there 'to guide their decision making' but not to enforce it. There is enough of them to work on a solid consensus, and it would allow them to consider the racing impact of marginal calls. However... despite saying all this (and Seb's protestations) looking at the slow mo inside his car I do think it looks like he lets the car drift out a bit wider than it necessarily needed too to "regain control" which just happened to stop Lewis passing as well.1 point

We travelled through various French villages and tried to keep of main roads where possible. One village appeared to be very poor in parts and one extremely wealthy. The first village in the video really does not show how "rustic" it was but I would have loved to have stayed there the night.1 point

The climb to the bridge took us up to 6807 feet and yes it was hard going and emotional as I had a special reason to climb a mountain, many years ago my mum and dad toured Switzerland by coach , my dad said he would come back and climb a mountain , alas this would never happen as he was diagnosed with copd and his climb would always be a dream until he passed away, So with my dads camera we climbed that hill and I know he walked with us we all have our reasons and motives that drive us on and this moment was for dad1 point

This was my most emotional bit of the trip. All my life I have wanted to climb up a mountain / big hill but never had anyone willing to do it with me and never seem to have the motivation to do it on my own. When this opportunity came up I knew I had to do it. I am fat and the weather was so very hot and I know that without Gary's help I would have really struggled more than I did. I felt and still am so proud of myself for completing the climb. I got to the top and became a bit emotional and the same at the bottom so thank you Gary for sharing my moment with me. Our goal was the awesome 1621 feet long, newly opened Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge in Switzerland. This has broken the record for the world's longest pedestrian suspension bridge. The bridge offers hikers views of the Matterhorn, Weisshorn and Bernese Alps. We where given a police escort through the town to guide us to a parking place, and we where allowed to park in the police station carpark. The police and Paul Summermatter gave us such a brilliant and friendly welcome to their town. As we climbed heard avalanches, avalanche charges been set off, cuckoos and all sorts of birdlife. We also saw deer and a Chamois antelope on the snow. We passed a shrine to Saint Bartholemewe who is the Patron saint of Travellers half way up the mountain. One couple lost a dog and we don't know if they got it back but you could hear them calling for ages. When we arrived back at the start we where given such great hospitality in the cafe and we wish to thank Paul Summermatter for his great hospitality. Anyway I could write for ages about this most memorable, moving and fantastic time but instead here are a few pictures.1 point

What a brilliant day. We went to a friend of Garys who has a small Whisky distillery on his home. He also owns a brilliant pub and a fabulous museum. Gunter made us feel so welcome and he even made us all lunch. Gary signed a lot of whiskey barrels that he had made years ago and I felt really proud for him. We then had a blast into the mountains and myself and Dave headed into Italy. It was absolutely brilliant and we just went exploring without satnavs for a few hours. Anyway here are a few pictures.1 point

Not one MP at Westminster can be believed or trusted. Not a one. Crooks, liars and thieves, every one of them. The whole thing has been a supreme waste of time. Bojo is a reprehensible human being on every front, but not one of them can deliver Brexit in any form. May was undone by a bunch of well-dressed self-serving power hungry berks who weren’t prepared to negotiate to get the best deal and only have their own benefit in mind and couldn’t care less about the public. Worst joke ever. Monty Python said it best (apologies for the caps): WE WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGIZE FOR THE WAY IN WHICH POLITICIANS ARE REPRESENTED IN THIS PROGRAMME. IT WAS NEVER OUR INTENTION TO IMPLY THAT POLITICIANS ARE WEAK-KNEED, POLITICAL TIME-SERVERS WHO ARE CONCERNED MORE WITH THEIR PERSONAL VENDETTAS AND PRIVATE POWER STRUGGLES THAN THE PROBLEMS OF GOVERNMENT, NOR TO SUGGEST AT ANY POINT THAT THEY SACRIFICE THEIR CREDIBILITY BY DENYING FREE DEBATE ON VITAL MATTERS IN THE MISTAKEN IMPRESSION THAT PARTY UNITY COMES BEFORE THE WELL-BEING OF THE PEOPLE THEY SUPPOSEDLY REPRESENT NOR TO IMPLY AT ANY STAGE THAT THEY ARE SQUABBLING LITTLE TOADIES WITHOUT AN OUNCE OF CONCERN FOR THE VITAL SOCIAL PROBLEMS OF TODAY. NOR INDEED DO WE INTEND THAT VIEWERS SHOULD CONSIDER THEM AS CRABBY ULCEROUS LITTLE SELF-SEEKING VERMIN WITH FURRY LEGS AND AN EXCESSIVE ADDICTION TO ALCOHOL AND CERTAIN EXPLICIT SEXUAL PRACTICES WHICH SOME PEOPLE MIGHT FIND OFFENSIVE. WE ARE SORRY IF THIS IMPRESSION HAS COME ACROSS.1 point
