I've received this reply from Rob Hitchman from The Air Ambulance which I thought I would share, to say Rob was more than happy with making the front cover pic in an understatement ''Hi Marcus, Thank you for being as good as your word, very kindly arranging to send me a copy of the club's magazine. It arrived yesterday (Saturday), and to say that I was stunned and astonished to make the cover would be an understatement! I'm humbled to receive a copy, and I'll cherish it as a very happy reminder of summer 2019. Thanks again for your generosity and thoughtfulness. It really means a great deal to me. I wish you every success for the club and its events, this year and long into the future. Best regards, Rob Hitchman, Air Ambulance Volunteer.''4 points

Well that was fun, setting up a new laptop, not my idea of a nice Sunday evening but it gets me to here. We met at McDonalds, a very soggy McDonalds, but it was warm and friendly inside once everyone had turned up After Martyn2breakfasts 😀 finally finished eating, we went to a very quiet GBS and made straight for the Escort Nice interior, you would feel safe in that I asked for the bonnet to be opened, but disappointingly the bay was empty An example of the engine was in an adjacent Zero. It is a 2.5 litre Duratec which are normally found in heavy vehicles, they are imported from Mexico, it has their own design water rail (no expansion bottle) and their own design throttle bodies. The ECU is either Emerald or Life. An overview of the factory area, Escort on the left and the Zero containing the engine on the right. I feel very uncomfortable calling it an Escort, it would be like calling my car a Lotus 7. Outside Andrew and Clare were looking very lonely in the car park Next, we went to the Thaymar Ice Cream Farm for a hearty lunch and ice cream of course. I was highly delighted when they got my order wrong and fetched me an extra ice cream. Here is a tip, order a Rocky Road and a Raspberry Ripple so the waitress writes it down as 1xRR, 1xRR, you will get a double raspberry ripple and they will bring you an extra rocky road. It was lovely.4 points

Lovely day out and a good spread by GBS. Shame about the weather but it brings another dimension to driving a Westfield. On the positive, at least there was car parking space this time! Just need a careful right foot and a drying room when you get home. Luckily for us, right foot was well behaved and we have an AGA so quickly dried up. Severe lack of photos as we rely on Julie, so here is the one I have. Should have taken a photo of that AC as it was fantastic. Great company and fun. Thanks all.2 points

I didn't to be honest, I've had to take my car off the road for a while, hopefully when I get time I'll see what I can do. Cheers1 point

Yes it needed MOT, but a non cat system as it was a 1994 engine1 point

A replica is on PistonHeads at the mo for £100k. This is the ‘real thing’ at an approx value of £500k. The chassis is original and the bodywork is made using the original as formers. The customer has the original bodywork stored. New Duratec 2.5ltr turbo plus running gear. Owner is going to drive it and not hide it away. Fantastic workmanship with Ali covered ash frame. Wire wheels etc. After test drive all coming apart again for painting. Oh to have the spare cash.....1 point

Should be able to make a detour to join you (stopping in Harrogate, overnighter for training course early start on 3rd) What's the start time?1 point

Looking good. My turbo 1.8 engine had 800cc injectors and idled fine1 point

You should change the title and have this moved to build threads. Interested to see how you gte on with the injectors. I had 550s in mine and they were a bit of a pig at idle, but I think it was down to a crap ECU and poor mapping. How many KWs are you aiming for...?1 point

It's certainly a bit marginal either way given the circumstances and part of the track it occurred at (there really isn't a lot of room there at 100mph). From a rules perspective though... by the letter of the law after reading it, it does look like an unsafe return to the track. Do I agree with it? No, I think it's a silly decision. I don't get the amount of uproar targeted from different camps at the drivers/teams. Lewis is totally entitled to ask the question (Seb would do - in fact has done - exactly the same), Mercedes are entitled to refer it to the stewards for review (Ferrari would also do exactly the same without a doubt). The entire sport is based around teams/drivers/engineers pushing to the limits of the rules to get any advantage they can and this is no different. Anyone that thinks the other side would do anything different if the tables were turned is mistaken. At the end of the day the only people responsible are the stewards, and they made their call based on the FIA regulations. They are the things that need looking at as even though they have been allowed to declare more "racing incidents" of late, it still feels pretty rigid (even the appeals process for example). Personally I wish the panel of 5 experts at the track had carte blanche on rulings, with it legislated that the rules are there 'to guide their decision making' but not to enforce it. There is enough of them to work on a solid consensus, and it would allow them to consider the racing impact of marginal calls. However... despite saying all this (and Seb's protestations) looking at the slow mo inside his car I do think it looks like he lets the car drift out a bit wider than it necessarily needed too to "regain control" which just happened to stop Lewis passing as well.1 point

Probably a cliché, a car in the hills playing Matt Monroe, but yes, that's it. Just need to swap Buttercup for a Lamborghini Muira and watch out for bulldozers.1 point

Good day! Amazing how stepping away for a while can make things easier. Bit of thought overnight and away we go. First up, comparison of old vs new injectors. Can injectors be sexy? Not sure. But the new ones are pretty damn awesome. Got the fuel pipes off so I could get the injector rail out fully, clean everything up, grease and install the new injectors and reinstall. Boom! Simple as that. Also, the boot of my camper makes an exceptional portable workstation. So, onto mapping the ECU. Followed the fairly straightforward instructions, clenched my a hole super tight and turned the key. Fired straight up. Woo hoo!! Its not running right, pretty obviously as it's on a base map, but it idles and revs fine, so hopefully I can drive it for mapping soon. Awesome!1 point

Thanks coming everyone. It was very soggy and well done to Andrew and Clare for coming in their Westfield. Martyn and Sue, John and Jacky, Des and Debs, Barry and Andrew, and Chris all had a good look around a very quiet GBS. The Mk2 Escort shell was on show and there was an example of the engine in a Zero. Afterwards Barry and Andrew ran off to the chippy while the rest of us went to Thaymar Ice Cream Farm for lunch. I am very sorry but I am without a laptop at the moment as mine has died, I am borrowing a neighbours laptop and for the life of me I cannot access my photo's. When I can get at them I will post them up, but other people might put a few on. Excellent company and garbage weather xxx1 point

Good luck to @IanK (Bagpuss) and hopefully you won't be as exhausted as @BillyPee, I'll get me coat 😃1 point
