Weather was holding and with rain forecast for the next week and a half decided to get myself out. Spean Bridge to Banavie back road to avoid the World Mountain biking and turn right on the road to Mallaig. After Glenfinnan take the turning off to Lochalaine all the way to Strontian and back around by the Corran ferry through Fort William and home. Some great views but as ever when the road is great you never stop so piccys not as good as they should be!!2 points

In glorious sunshine, we cracked off and did 5 brilliant passes we started off climbing and descending the Stuben pass circling around we climbed up above the snow line on the San Bernardino pass stopping at restoranti ospizio taking all the back roads we dropped way down into the valley rounding around airolo we climbed the passo del chiara and passo del lucomagno then finally over the oberalp pass to the train at realp and onto our hotel at Obergesteln Words really can’t describe the beauty that we saw today or the way the Westies were received by all the locals wherever we have been and today was Switzerland Italy Switzerland Italy Switzerland..... brilliant2 points

Patrick from the Westfield parts department is hoping to join us at the meet potentially in a westfield demonstrator. though the weather looks a bit iffy at the moment it's looking promising for the weekend, lets hope it stays nice for the whole weekend and we can have a descent turn out. Hope to see you on Sunday. Thanks Rhett Location Sunday June 2nd, 7pm at the Dudley Arms, Himley. DY3 4LB.1 point

Firstly, a special thank you to @syman84 for inviting us to Michelle's 40th birthday last night, it was a great party and the live band were fantastic. The last time we met Michelle's dad we were at The Strines, it was freezing and he was in a turquoise Robin Hood, about 4 years ago, so it was nice to catch up with him too. I only wanted to go 5 miles for some breakfast, how difficult can it be? read on. We met at Ashbourne for a quick gather together before heading North to Tissington (or not as the case may be). We had a spare moment so we did the panorama dance red cars ruled today, Chris and Mo arrived Martyn and Sue arrived as well as Andrew, Trevor and Kirsty, Andy and Ann, Matt, Richard, Stephen, Andy and Sue, John and Jacky we nicely set off on our short and unremarkable trip through Ashbourne I indicated right to turn into Tissington, but no, no, no, the road was closed due to the well dressing being on. Parking was in an adjacent field - in a Westfield? I don't think so, plus imagine the crowds, no, no. We continued, which was actually the route I had planned for later, so Glen and I racked our brains for somewhere suitable to take 10 cars, we carried on the route and STOP STOP STOP we met this fine fellow An irate farm contractor, who met 2 of his work mates coming in the opposite direction in equally large vehicles. The road sign states 'unsuitable for long or wide vehicles' he had no brake/reverse lights, no tread on his tyres and the number plate is half hidden, and then he had the audacity to get out of his vehicle and tell us to back up, but only after he had aggressively reversed and braked hard towards me. I had nowhere to go obviously and had to sit there and gulp. Long one short, Glen got out and told him what an unpleasant man he is, I had kittens and we all turned around and went on a different road. Phew. We decided to divert to Wetton but unknown to me (I had just given birth to kittens! cut me some slack) Richard had started to overheat and Trevor stayed with him. Richard appeared later and Trevor and Kirsty ended up at Hulme End ????? Wetton After being suitably refreshed and back on track we set off around the lanes of Dove Dale To arrive at Willersley Castle, and what a beautiful setting to take our beautiful cars. The view over the river Derwent from the Castle After lunch we risked a drive through Matlock Bath and it paid off because the traffic was flowing well and the road was lined with motorbikes and tourists, pose time! With the warm weather we decided an ice cream farm was required and went to Matlock Meadows, engage panorama mode again the bonnets came off and the ice cream was consumed, the conversion flowed making a lovely end to a rather challenging start Richard 2 cakes, and he even bothered to pay for them this time Mazda, Zetec, V8 and Honda take your pic Thank you to everyone for coming along today, hopefully you have enjoyed it as much as us, you are fun lot and make us laugh so much xxxx1 point

If in doubt, declare! You’d be surprised how little financial difference it makes to premiums. Throttle bodies is certainly one I’d notify, change of Tyre type, not so much, what is normal, after all? Steering wheel, if it was expensive and especially if on a quick release, then yes, I probably would.1 point

When I took my grandson out for the first time he was only 7. On the way he asked how fast we was going and I jokingly said 100mph when we was at 40mph. When we returned home his mother asked if grandad went fast, “oh yes” he said “grandad went to a 100mph” 😂 You should have seen her face.1 point

There are parts of the manual suggesting that a VIN number is not required on a Q Plate car... Introduction b. Vehicles having a Q plate registration when presented for MOT are to be treated as follows: for emission purposes only, they are to be considered as first used before 1 August 1975 for all other testing purposes they are to be considered as being first used on 1 January 1971 Section 0 - Identification of the vehicle A Vehicle Identification Number (VIN or chassis number) is required on: kit cars and amateur built vehicles first used on or after 1 September 2001 all other vehicles first used on or after 1 August 1980. It lacks clarity because a post 2001 Q plated kit car could be in scope or out of scope of the 'required on' section. Certainly you could argue pre-2001 Q plates don't require a VIN Jim1 point

The Album also depends upon your age as music has so many memories attached to it as well. For me the Album I probably play the most is Goodbye Yellow Brick Road by Elton John from the time I met my wife and played on a cheap in car cassette player always been a favorite. The other is Paranoid by Black Sabbath. As Dave said albums do come in and out but these two are constants.1 point
