Day 2 was an easy 150 miles or should have been a water leak on the thermostat housing saw some lateral thinking to sort out and then we were ready for the off , not before an interesting chat with a gentleman who was heading off to Italy in his classic Morgan, “because one has to do these things” 😂 Any way after chatting we said bon voyage and made our way to Harrogate where after finding a parking spot we headed off and strolled around the valley gardens which are still impressive even after so many years. As we left Harrogate behind the rain started so we had a wet half hour to Rawdon and our abode for the night, soon to be joined by Jim and Laura5 points

It ended up with 9 cars and 16 people. We had Andy and Sue, Andy and Ann, Andy and Pete (are you keeping up?) Bill, Richard, Trevor and Kirsty, John and Jacky, Michael and Marie meeting us at Sainsburys for a quick take away brew and tyre kick before we set off on the B roads avoiding the Bank Holiday crowds, arriving at the wee stop which also conveniently provided a good photo opportunity. The route was twisty and scenery was excellent. The nutters did the panorama dance first Before I could photograph the real stars of the day With Trevors car having just done a meaty trackday at Cadwell last Thursday, John's car being set up remotely by @IanK (Bagpuss) (well done Ian) and Billy's car being the King of Carbs, everyone's car was running well and spirits were high. The cars The drivers High roads, twisty roads, cracking scenery and a dynamic TVR car show coming in the opposite direction. I was driving single handed at one point as there were that many TVR's to wave at, the group reckon about 60 cars. This is not a picture of them We soon arrived at the cafe, slightly early, so thank you and well done to everyone for your promptness today. The view from the cafe The cafe, with Trevor and Kirsty, note Trevor is still smiling from his passenger lap in the Lobster at Cadwell, it sounded like quite a ride!!! Bill left us at this point, bye Bill I was hemmed in so John and Jacky led us out of the car park I was supposed to take the lead from there but the instruction was easy and John carried on, ok? er, no. 'Turn right at the T junction at the end of the road' but in Barnsley language that interprets to 'take any right that you like the look of' to cut a long story short, John and Jacky were found safe and well some hours later. We won't mention it because what happens on a meet stays on a meet. We all got the the cake stop along a high road with dramatic rock formations and far reaching views The cafe, where it was warm enough to sit outside and eat cake John and Jacky did join us eventually, hooray for sat navs. John is still facing in the wrong direction Great roads, good food, excellent company and what absolutely lovely cars you all have. Thank you for coming today everyone, I hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have. Some last few photo's from the lunch stop. Richards car John, Andrew and our car Andy and Ann's car Andy and Sue's car2 points

Thanks for a top day gents! Especially Andrew for the bits, complete day-saver. Thank you. Will write more later, but for now a short vid before I lose motivation to edit Datalogger showing 1.85g at points (and that I'm being a massive nunney as @Archibald Meatpants suspected so loads of time left 'on the table').2 points

Not been started for at least 7 years (I think) and it’s now running! I am so pleased 😀 Changed the oil, coolant and drained the old fuel out. Oil looked a bit second hand and the old fuel was brown ! Flushed the fuel tank and fuel lines through with some fresh fuel cranked it with the fuel pipe off, reconnected them, it turned over about three times and fired 👍 Tomorrows job is get the brakes working again and find reverse as I can’t remember where it is 🤣 all forward gears are selectable though.1 point

Hi Simon I have the Powerlite 09 an have been using its equivalent unapproved one from the same suppler for several years without any problem. The Cranking is fine and the only time I have had any issue at all was when having starting issues as they do flatten more quickly than a normal battery, just due to the lower Ah rating. Absolutely nothing to worry about in normal use though. And they are so light you will think its an empty case Ian1 point

I don't know the answer to this Terry but I suspect a call to Mark at Westfield would probably be the easiest way to get the info you need.1 point

If you sprint / hill climb the lion battery needs to be from an MSA approved supplier1 point

Wellllllllll…….. My version of the day: I rose at 04-30 on the road by 4-45, had a good run, but that's an early start to the day, and I think I was wilting towards the end. First session, two casualties. Stoney's car shed a cycle wing and Mikes VX came back on three pots. Stoney repaired his wing, Mike not so lucky.. possibly a broken valve spring or a stuck / bent valve perhaps. End of play for Mike. I had a couple of gremlins. I'd overfilled the coolant, which at one point decided to find it's own level by venting it out.. mainly into the passenger footwell. I drained it down to where it should be and that was OK for the rest of the day. My other recurring problem is the alternator bolt said bye bye at some point.. again! Replaced it and fitted two nuts.. see if it can shed them! Had some really good sessions on track. A couple behind Adam, and with a little help from the traffic I managed to stay in touch for a few laps. An early session with Stoney in the shed of redness was fun too.. will get them "tubed" at some point. Sadly towards the end of the day we were sat in the paddock, and noticed it had all gone quiet. Ross and his Caterham were missing. The car eventually appeared on the back of the recovery truck. Broken prop shaft! It's done a fair bit of damage to the car, but thankfully Ross's legs were spared any injury. (He's put some nasty pics up on FB, Ross Murray) The only positive he has was it was nearly the end of the day, but the really bad news is he was entered into the Mag se7ens race at Oulton on Monday. It sort of knocked the stuffing out of me, so considering I'd had a pretty good day, I gave up at about 4-30. We never really got much of a train going.. didn't see much of the yellow brigade? .. just the way it goes sometimes I suppose. It was a busy day, but I didn't feel it was too congested on track? Be good to hear what others thought. And finally.. what about the weather! Despite Archiepants presence we definitely had Andrew1 point

@Terry Everall - WSCC Competition Secretary & @John I take your points, though the other championship is just for fun. You are of course reducing our classes enjoyment of the weekend by splitting us all up and taking away any chance of a class award. I give entry some thought but to say I’m disheartened is an understatement. Marto1 point

DTA e48 Ecu which ran my injected red top. We changed it for an S40 as we thought it was the cause of a cut out but then found it to be the battery isolator at fault not the ecu. DTA did test the ecu and said it worked but was behaving slightly perculiar. They said they could fix but recommended new over the fix. I don’t have a loom it’s just the base ecu. £30 to reflect the fact that it may need a repair although it did run my car just fine. Collection from Sheffield or buyer to pay postage.1 point
