  1. Hi All Westfield Owners, Everyone Westfield Sportscars would like to say a massive thank you for all members who came out and attend the show and came to our stan. It was fantastic to see such support and meeting new and existing customers. Your plot in particular was very impressive. Loved the huge range of cars I put a lot of faces to names, who I have spoken with since the start of the year. Really good chatting about your cars and other topics. I greatly appreciate all the kind words and well wishes I received. Made me feel very welcome. Have a fantastic week everyone and if you need any support or assistance, please feel free to contact me or the Team. Regards Patrick

  2. Thinking of buying a new Westfield/Kit? not sure if the money that you are investing in it will be protected? well have no fear, these cars live on. My Westfield has been up on the ramps at my local garage today for the MOT, so I took the rare opportunity to photograph the underneath of it and I was very impressed. My car is 16 years old and has travelled over 50,000 miles, in all seasons including on salty roads. Glen wipes it clean with a cloth soaked in WD40 and follows it up with by wiping it over with a cloth soaked in ACF50. Any rust spots that appear are treated with De-Rust and painted in Hammerite. With no rusting wheel arches to worry about and a modern engine under the bonnet you can own an unusual car without the issues that a classic car may bring. I believe the value of my car is slightly more than what I paid for it 5 years ago and apart from an initial set up spend at Northampton Motor Sport it runs economically. The MOT was passed with no advisories and the certificate shows this years mileage to be 7271 miles. Buy with confidence, these are just the best and most amazing cars.

  4. As someone who lost someone who was connected to the bomb; i see no problem with a union jack or st george... This city is a proud and humble city.... and hopefully leading technology with the links between westfield & the universities will make this world leading

  6. I’d see it from the other side of the coin. Lets fly the flag a bit more often.

  7. I'm sorry Terry, but this rule is clearly intended to make adjustments to the target time when the track conditions are not "ideal". There was clearly nothing untoward about the track that impacted on the times recorded, and it should therefore not be applied in this case. Tony

  8. @marcusb, pretty sure those pixelated ne'er do wells are known to me. I shall now pop behind the scenes and consider the unspeakable things I could do to their profiles...

  9. Just taken out 12 months cover with AutoAid. They seem to have a promotional price for new business. £48.31 to cover me driving any car (taxed, insured and mot'd) So that's the Westfield, my Pick-up Truck the wife's car etc Full UK cover, usual roadside assist, home assistance and full UK recovery anywhere to 1 destination. Free cover for legal spouse (or the equivalent in same-sex stuff) again for any car she/he is driving Recovery also includes caravan (or a 3 metre trailer) which will be useful for my circumstances I've never had personal cover before, we have something through our bank account. For this (introductory price) is seems decent value. Just thought it was worth a mention.....

  10. Hello all. Just a post to make myself known. A bit of a petrolhead for the last 55 years I am so very lucky to have been able to indulge in many sports cars over the years. Mostly my own - but a few I managed to persuade various companies to buy as a company car! Mainly during the indulgent 80s! I had a Westfield in 1989-92 a 1700 big valve xflow SE. I had this car race prepped for Hillclimbs and sprints .... Prescott, Loton, Harwood,Curborough etc. Bitten by this bug I then went single seater for three seasons in a 500cc and then an 1100cc Jedi. Wonderful times - but I overdid the meetings and my wife gave me an ultimatum ..it’s me or the car. What a close call that was!! I then rode bikes for very many years - a stable of fast road right through to vintage! This led me to a Morgan 3 - modern version. Another dream come true - but sadly this car was launched with little development and proved to be a disaster! But the Morgan’s link persisted and I had a few four wheelers. Now back full circle to the idea of a Westfield. It was great to see so many at last weekends Stoneleigh show. Very impressed with the current build quality of the cars on display. So...what to buy? Now at 70 my thinking is a moderate powered car. For touring, club meets/ tours/ events/local runs. So, 2l Zetec? My budget is £10-12k and am hoping to get a nice car for this. I am a fussy ###@&*** so must be a car in excellent condition. Any advice, thoughts , guidance would be welcome. cheers and thanks for reading - if you got this far! Neil:)))) ps I live in S Warks

  11. Still seems unfair when a few weeks ago, at my first speed series weekend and first events at Anglesey, I pushed myself and car hard enough to beat the Longton class record, but could of scored more points last weekend in the same CONDITIONS by going slower.

  16. Stu, you might be correct. My 1989 car was sold to a chap from Belgium and registered with no problems. It was a few years ago though.

  18. Here are a couple of random comparisons of competitors who did both of the events at Anglesey so far: Car No. Driver P 1 P 2 T 1 T 2 T 3 T 4 T5 Best Anglesey International Circuit, Sunday, April 7th, 2019 144 John Wadsworth 120.73 120.70 118.79 118.78 119.76 118.49 118.49 N/R 1 49 Anglesey International Circuit, Sunday, May 5th, 2019 4 John Wadsworth 117.23 117.62 115.72 115.64 117.23 116.60 115.64 Anglesey International Circuit, Sunday, April 7th, 2019 118 Martin Rowe 103.90 103.98 104.19 104.67 104.49 104.14 103.98 Anglesey International Circuit, Sunday, May 5th, 2019 10 Martin Rowe 104.06 102.47 102.82 111.82 104.05 104.73 102.82 This data indicates to me that the track conditions were pretty much similar, so I must conclude that using the times recorded by the WSCC entrants on the day to determine if the track conditions were "unfavourable" does not stand up to scrutiny? 20. The trick seems to be to get ownership transferred to the Wife ( or civil partner ) , as they alone hold the power to keep the car spotless and clean . By vertue of old chinee proverb No cleany No nooky !

  21. I think Julie keeps a painting of Rita, covered in ever more mud and muck as the years pass, up in the attic. It’s the only way. I’ve been on Peak District runs where we look like our cars were parked behind a herd of cows in a wind tunnel, and Rita is near spotless!

  23. At Stoneleigh somebody asked me how I keep my car so clean, my answer was 'the first thing to do' ''is to marry Glen' they were a bit disappointed with that answer The real answer is, lots of time and lots of elbow grease, once you get it clean it is easy to keep it clean on a 'little and often' basis

  24. And I can vouch for the service as well. I've been recovered twice with them, and both times it was within a reasonable time frame and without issues to get the Westfield on the low-loader... as long as you mention that your car is a kit car and needs a special vehicle!

  26. I’d edit the title to ST170 or 2.0 Zetec instead of Duratec - as some will see it and not read further. Although it was badged as a Duratec, the St 170 is really an uprated Zetec design and thus a Zetec manifold will fit (maybe need port matching) but a Duratec will definitely not. hope this helps!

  27. Whilst I hate to be “that” person, can I recommend that anyone with footage shares it privately without announcing the fact via social media and the net. Really wouldn’t want anyone getting in trouble “after the fact”. Much of Stoneleigh is in a prohibited airspace zone due to the local airport, I believe there are also local restrictions applied by the organisers themselves, or at least there were, last year.

  28. I don’t generally do cleaning... but peddle bike cleaner, something like muckoff and a brush is good on the fiddly bits of my bike. TFR can be a bit much and can strip the passivate off zinc plated parts... also upset anodised bits.

  29. I just use soap and water with a brush then I just spray and wipe with this. https://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/polishing-waxing-and-finishing/quick-detailers/berry-blast--quick-detailer-and-clay-lube/ad-berryblast-500 I don't understand all the chemical stuff but it smells nice, seems to keep it looking ok to me, plus I like it.

  34. On the way to Stoneleigh yesterday! Binding front left caliper. Auto Aid wanted to send us back to Glasgow. B&B where we are staying said that one of their guests was going to the show and had a car full of tools and was happy to help, so Auto Aid transported us there. Working by cellphone torchlight we got it sorted - the Westie will go to the ball (and hopefully get back to Glasgow for a brake strip down)!
