  11. So went to work in the car today, the forecast was dry ! As I came out of work it P*****ed it down. I have the half hood I should point out, my side was ok I thought, My right foot was getting wet (pedal cover me thinks) and I discovered later I had wet myself. Passenger side was soaked, now here's my dilemma, my wife and I are planning a trip to Scotland in September. Do I tell her the cars water proof and risk the scorn should it rain or come clean 😁 Rich

  17. Thats a negative red leader. It moves under its own power as of yesterday! It needs a few little bits so I could have it ready in time BUT I’d have to run without an oil cooler because that’s not sorted yet AND if I’m honest, I know what I’m like and if I’m on track with you lot I’ll be caning it trying to keep up with @Chris King - Webmaster and Joint North East AO all day when I need to have a “gentle” shakedown. So a day at Blyton for me first I think. That said, I might come across for some passengering.

  20. I see your dilemma, dont mention it, as long as you have a nice cosy hotel to dry and warm up it should go well and just be fun. However, be prepared to have to 'suck up' and spend money on the new clothes she will want to replace the wet ones.... cos they will have to be new... any woman knows that.

  31. Most of what you need to know is here, a useful resource for new folks and old timers. Essentially follow the "kit car" entrance NOT the public car park entrance. Keep going through the gates and straight up the road until you see a big marquee surrounded by Westfields Cash - bring some. Some area take cards and contactless, there are cash machines and yes, they do charge.

  32. I’m reading that as, oil is pushing out of the dipstick tube with the engine running and the dipstick out. If that’s the case there is too much pressure build up in the sump. Have you done a compression test for the combustion chambers? worn rings, or compared the engine breather piping with another Xflow Westfield.

  33. Double check all your breathers open them up and see if this stops the vapour, as it sounds like a blocked crankcase breather or similar.

  34. The Redtop with the Weber’s will give you a max of 170horses if it’s a standard engine. Personally I would play the waiting game as it’s £10k. Put your offer to him with your phone number. In the meantime have a look at others, especially Stoneleigh .where there’s always a few for sale.

  35. I will also join in and provisionally book a place for James as he is looking to get over for the weekend and do the trackday on Friday and be pit crew for the weekend.

  36. Go on count me in to get numbers up. I tend to drive the wheels off the car without thinking much about lines, apexes or anything else. Sideways / dramatic cornering extreme moments are all part of non competitive off the queens highway fun driving for me. Some track tips would do no harm.

  39. Packhorse flight case. 400 x 300 x 250mm No keys. All the sponge had gone a bit funky so it was removed but there is a load of foam to go back in if you wish. £20.00 Clarke machine polisher 230 Volt. £84 from machine mart. https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-cp185-sander-polisher/ Mine is the CP180 which is basically the same but the CP185 has a slower bottom end speed. Comes with two sponge mops but one would only be used on a red car. Wool mop and three lots of polish. Over £130 worth if bought separately. £50.00 I would prefer to bring these to Stoneleigh so it saves on postage and gives me some money to spend on crap that my misses doesn't know about but could post for extra.
