  10. My Westfield got a decent size chip in the windscreen last summer. I got a local repairer out through the insurance to repair it, but in his words "He'd have to make the chip bigger to fill and polish with repair resin". I wasn't to comfortable with his suggestion and declined his offer to go at the screen with a small screwdriver and a hammer. He suggested polishing it out but said he wasn't authorised to do it. Anyway, after a lot of googling and youtube videos, I bought this of Ebay. Can't remember how much but under a tenner. Literally 5 minutes with a polishing wheel on my dremel and the chip is all but invisible. If you look closeley you can just about see the imperfection but it's 99% better than it was. Edit: was so impressed I did my varifocal specs with this compound too. The specs came up like new.....!

  16. I would be interested in those too. The nose does look good. What is the grill made from I'd like to change my expanded mesh for something like that. I think I've answered my own question. Having a closer look, it looks like Audi style grill.

  17. I had the guy shut off the pump, tap on the window and request me to hold up the can, said he couldn't let me fill it without the correct labels. I'd heard about it before buying the jerry can, but thought i'd try my luck. This madness all came about after https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2012/mar/30/woman-petrol-burns-york-fire Long story short, got a sticker for my jerry can and no further problems. It's utterly stupid really, I could buy a sticker on ebay, stick it to an empty coke bottle and go fill it up. It's about as effective at keeping people safe, as banning the legal sale of knives would be in stopping knife crime. It's all here http://www.hse.gov.uk/fireandexplosion/portabable-petrol-storage-containers.pdf

  25. Absolutely, Patrick has been a breath of fresh air in his approach, but let's not forget Simon's shake up of things, that has enabled Patrick to do the fine work he is doing.

  26. Hi WillC, If you are unable to get this. You can replace the pivot pin on the gearbox with a part from Kit Spares TRA0019, and then fit a standard ford release bearing. I have done this on a few so know it works Malcolm

  28. I'm not the best on engine building, but i know something about engine failures. This failure, looks unlikely to me to be related to oil pressure. When is a lubrication problem in the rods bearings, normally the rod grips to the crank, the rod bends and then snaps in the weakest section of the rod witch is normally near to the piston. Yours, whith what appears to be a perfectly straight rod, and still whith the bearing in place, looks like end caps bolts failure. Either for mechanical failure, fatige, over-torque... or over speed of the piston. But, Again, From only a picture is fairly difficult to say. I would sujjest a closer inspection to the bearings. They will be, of course damaged, but if it was an oil problem, I would expect to see some temperature colouring in the metal as it gets VERY hot just before gripping. Inspect also all the other bearings to find evidences of an oil pressure problem... I would expect to see "traces" of friction already. Good luck with it, and hopefully you find a new unit promptly, but is important to understand what has happened. Hope this information is handy when the time comes...

  34. Problem is we are all individuals. Some of us will take time to see if someone wants something before posting an ad and others will not read any instructions, info, rules or guidelines and post what they want wherever they want (leaving us to tidy it up!) (Edit : most will be somewhere in between) So regardless of what a section is called or what it is supposed to contain, people will be people!

  35. It's easy to see at a glance how many people have viewed a wanted add as the stats are right there next to the post. At a glance I can't see that there's much of difference between views of parts wanted and parts for sale. From my experience though I don't open and read a wanted advert if I don't have the part the person is looking for, whereas for sale adverts tend to contain multiple items so I would be more likely to look and see if there was something I might want to buy.

  36. Just moved this into the website forum. Personally, I would find it difficult scrolling through a list and trying to work out what was wanted and what was for sale unless folks were extra vigilant and wrote for sale or wanted on their posts, never gonna happen, hence separate sections. I also think it's simply the unambiguous distinction between the two that we have separate areas. I also believe folks do look at the wanted posts, I wonder if the system allows for those kind of stats...to see how busy that area is... Got me thinking now. (Nips off behind the scenes to look, hopefully won't break anything )
