  1. My father taught me how to ride a motorcycle when I was 13, I rode a bike all year round until about 15 years ago when following a slide down a wet road on my knees my family bought me driving lessons for Christmas... So I was over 50 when I passed my test, my first car was an Alfa Romeo Spider which I adored... it was followed by a variety of cars but I always had a love of Alfas. Makes me smile that I had trouble getting insured for my Spider, Saga and Sheila's wheels.. not interested! Almost 4 years ago the Alfa Romeo I loved was hit by a KTM Superduke doing 120 mph, head on. The ensuing fire ended the life of the biker at the scene and my husband 3 days later. I inherited his Westfield and although it was built by him on a shoestring almost 20 years ago I am so proud to drive it and drive it I do - constantly.

  3. Current project, Ford Bronco. Loosely based on the car Ben Stiller drives in the film Zoolander. Modified using wheels and tyres from a Toyota Landcruiser, suspension and body raised, rear wheel arches and doors cut away, bumpers/bull bar and full roll cage scratch built from plastic rod.

  5. Car collected and given a good run out, definitely going to need a pair of gloves next time out, this really isn't the best weather for a good run...hands just about warmed up! But great fun...the M5 driver who tried his luck off a roundabout was left standing

  6. This is the last model I finished. It's a Ford Escort Mexico, converted from a RS 1600 rally car using decals and RS alloy wheels from Motobitz.

  8. For all the people not on Facebook, I'll start to post photos and updates on here as well. I'll start with the Westfield I made a few years ago, it's ready for some work doing now just to bring it up to how mine is looking now and to bring to Stoneleigh again.

  9. 1992 SE Widebody, Crossflow engine with 4 speed type e gearbox, I think these are referred to as the rocket box. Engine has been bored out to 1680, lightened and balanced bottom end, racing clutch, stage 3 head, Full MOT. Full wet gear. The car runs on leaded fuel so you either need to put in an additive or have the valve seats replaced. £5750. Email me if interested. Richard.creighton@talk21.com

  16. Please could the posters of "Happy Birthday" messages please mention a proper name. A @... jobbie will do nicely rather than just a forename. I'm fed up with guessing !

  28. Once I was happy with the layout, the loom was pulled out of the car the cable ties were cut off and everything was wrapped in loom tape. the finished loom. Refitted in the car, just a few clips and some tidying left to complete.

  31. I'd love to say it was my Dad, but I can't really say that he was much of a petrol head to be honest. I think it must be down to my uncle who has had a fast car fetish for as long as I can remember, the first of which was a 3 litre capri which I will always remember as being incredibly fast and with a growl from under the bonnet which scared my younger brother half to death! By todays standards, the performance was probably pedestrian at best, but it was this that got me into fast Fords at first, then anything else after that. Would still love a 3 litre capri for old times sake but the cost of a good one is astronomical these days.
