  2. A vid from me. Last session of the day. I led the four cars round for a lap or so .. then twigged they were all behind me and the Gopro was facing forward. So let them past and gave chase. @DanDud pulled off for a picnic, Steve H cleared off, so I chased @Michael Whitworth for a bit.. got past and tried to pull away when there was an almighty bang down in the footwell accompanied by something rattling off the exhaust and flying past my head! It was the alternator bolt exiting stage left.. again! You can just make out the nut flying through the air as I turn through Lodge corner.

  4. Hi All, As part of the regular work the committee does behind the scenes, we have recently been discussing, amongst many other things, an update to the forum guidelines. We have now agreed the updated words and on behalf of the committee, I'd like to draw your attention to them. There have been no substantive changes, but plenty of clarifications. Please do have a look - thank you. If you feel these could be further improved or want additional clarifications, please let me know directly.

  11. Maybe, especially if you have the wing support stays as well as the clamshells and someone is considering a set for a project car. Gary

  13. Never met or spoke to you Justin but always enjoyed reading your posts. Hope your not leaving because of a spat with someone with differing views on humour. I know a lot of us on here aren’t the youngest and some views can be a little archaic. All the best anyway.

  26. Hi Geoffrey, It enters via a hidden zip on the front left side (see photo 2) so ideal to reach over and plug into passenger side / centre consol outlet. The heat controller comes out of it's own zipped pocket also on the left and hangs out on its sturdy cable pigtail. (I've pulled it right out of the pocket in photo 1 for clarity). If you do buy one, get at least a size smaller than you think you need. I got a 2XL, sent it back for an XL then sent that one back for a L. It neeeds to be a snug fit to heat you properly. The L is marked as 56 and seems good for me at 16.5 stone. All the wiring is hidden within the vest and there are additional plugs (as can be seen in photo 2) for trousers and gloves if added later.

  27. This is an issue I'm aware of and mentioned upon me starting with the company. Myself and management are looking for a resolution to the issue. I've tried back end to fix it however unfortunately it isn't a quick fix. The postage is calculated on each individuals items volumetric weight, similar process used by air freight companies. We have requested help to resolve this issue. once we have a fix it will be implemented. I do not have a confirmed date. In the meantime, please call or email. If something is wrong myself or a colleague can manually override and amend. Regards Patrick

  28. At last after a few frustrating weeks I’m back on the road As someone with limited knowledge but willing to have a go ,without this resource and the members I’d be lost ( or paying a garage ). One of the reasons I’d always wanted a westfield was so that I could learn the mechanical side of things as well as enjoy the driving . Thanks to you lot I can now do my own servicing, I’ve upgraded my radiator sorted My starter motor and electrical problems and my freewheel is up and running .Id like to say a big thanks to @Thrustyjust who always comes to my help ,his advice has been welcomed on many occasions on varying topics. Mike @Kit Car Electronics For sending me a freewheel package ready soldered with all the information to enable me and a mate to fit it Also for being good enough to give me his phone number on his Saturday afternoon off to help 2 people who didn’t really know that much get it working .It really is not that complicated and a great bit of kit (My favourite upgrade yet ) @Jon Wilkinson who was a Godsend with my electrics ,(turns out he’s an Auto electrician ) Without the above and indeed all of you the forum I’d be lost ,With you I’m gaining experience growing in confidence and ultimately one day may be able to build a car of my own .See you all at Stoneleigh . For anyone that’s not seen a freewheel yet here’s mine get one .. Steve
