Thanks @Julie Hall - AO Representative, Peak District AO for another well organised day out in the Peak District. Great roads, food, and people. I'm itching to get the Westy back on the road and looking forward to the next already.2 points

Is the pump on flexi-tails to the copper? Maybe they could be lengthened or add some plastic pipe between the pump and the copper?1 point

Photo courtesy of Paula, who probably does not quite realise what she has captured here, it is Mininglow. A Neolithic tomb to some, but a very unique and visible landmark to others, with it's tall trees surrounded by small trees. I am talking stand on the Mam Tor ridge in the North and you will see it, then drive out of Ashbourne in the South and you will see it, also see it from Froggatt Edge in the East. It seems to follow you around the Peak District, Glen and I always point it out to each other when we see it, the conversation goes 'hey, guess what, you can see Mininglow from here' this is like having a photo of an old friend. We don't actually have a photo of it, so well done Paula. Sorry, I'll get me anorak. Here is another photo from Paula with us on the move, it's always good to have other peoples photos1 point

Just think of all the brownie points though @IanK (Bagpuss). The major thing we were missing today was the sun, it was the thing I was counting on to make the views stunning, so please accept my apologies as it turned out to be not the prettiest of journeys. Everything else was a success so one cannot complain. Meeting us at Matlock were Andrew, Matt and Paula, Martyn and Sue, Bill, Michael and Jeanine. The Lincolnshire crew's cars turned up a bit worse for wear after a 2 hour run, I think they came straight through the farmers fields At Sainsburys, Matlock And soon we started being silly and doing the panorama dance. Andrew taught Matt how to do it and for a first timer he did good.. Jeanine's face lit up with delight when she saw our cars for the first time We posed through Matlock Bath and arrived at Homesford, our reservation was situated right next to the log burner and although it was not cold at all Jeanine and I were more than happy to guard it. We all enjoyed our breakfast/lunch/brunch whatever you want to call it at 11.30am. Parked at Homesford Homesford, a quaint little building sat on it's own, it is also a textile workshop, just in case you fancy a bit of knitting (Martyn) The 'Run Without the Sun' came next, through Cromford, up to Youlgreave, Newhaven, down the Via Gellia road, through Winster and to The Whitworth Centre in Darley Dale. Parked at Whitworth It was time for cake and the Clarke brothers were first in the queue, well spotted, they found the sticky toffee cake. Come closer, there's more Paula was showing off and being healthy with her choice of carrot cake that's one of your five a day sorted then! Now we were all full it was time to go home Back in the car park and look what came and parked next to us. Matt was a bit of an expert with Porsches so was delighted to see a limited edition. A young lad was driving it too, who's a lucky boy. Matt, Paula and Andrew followed us back through Chatsworth Park where the sun made a late appearance, so at least some of the views looked pretty. A great day, thank you to everyone for coming and hey, it wasn't bad weather for February was it?1 point

Well, with being in Yorkshire I ordered tea with my breakfast. I lifted the lid to give it a bit of a stir and there was no tea in the tea bag. The tea bag was in the pot alright but it was empty of tea. I know you Yorshire lot are tight but that was taking it to a differant level.1 point

So my free membership thing ran out, then Christmas, then new year and now I'm back and I've signed up as a member. I did the garage floor as you can see in the pics. It's a remarkable difference albeit an expensive one. The tiles are easy to fit especially if you have a table saw to hand. I did manage to cut my finger trimming a tile with a Stanley knife which has damaged the nerve. bl**** annoying and that little cut is probably going to need some attention this year if it doesn't get better on its own (says the doc). Garage declutter is still ongoing. I'm on the lookout for Westfield now. A 2l Zetec seems to be the sweet spot for me.1 point

When I built mine I used an older loom that was designed for what is often referred to as a “clockwork” ignition system - so carbs and a mechanical distributor. So when it came to adding the independent throttle bodies (ITBs) I had to splice the loom in myself. But it wasn’t difficult. It was simply a case of power and earth for the ECU, the fuel pump relay and ignition. Basically 4 wires. Later I replaced the ECU and had no loom. That gave me the opportunity to get on built to suit my own spec which was more involved but still spliced into the main loom in a similar fashion. So “plug and play” will depend on your install - which is something you haven’t given us a clue about? So is it Weber carbs, bike carbs, single throttle body injection, bike ITBs, Jenvey ITBs, Omex ITBs etc. They all have different ECU requirements and can have very different looms/connections You need to let us know what you want to plug into before we can play1 point

With the excitement of collecting the Costin now out of the way and the trailer unloaded last weekend it's back to working on the JW4 again. Last week I had a rather big delivery of laser cut parts so I can make some more progress on some of the remaining jobs. The fire wall panels I'd had cut to roughly the right shape but I'd left a small allowance for final fettling to get them to fit the body profile exactly. Footwell panels fitted as well for extra crash protection. And finally I turned up a some top hat spacers for the steering rack bolts.1 point
