  1. As some of you will know I’ve booked a private test day at Blyton Park on 4th March 2019. I’ve spoken with Terry this morning and we both thought it would be beneficial to make the rest of you guys aware of this so you have the opportunity to test should you wish too. So we have approximately 10 spaces available, gates open at 8.00am track at 9.00am There will be a full safety crew and briefing before the track opens. As it’s a private test day all welcome including open wheeled single seaters and I’m told we’re fine with timing. Max 6 out on track at a time and ideally maximum 24 entrants. Camping is available overnight on Sunday 3rd for £10 each. If there’s a few of us overnighting we may pop into Blyton for a pub meal Sunday evening ( just me thinking of my stomach! ) Cost initially is £213.33 for full day however the more people that book on the cheaper it gets, possibly down to £96.00 each if we fill 20 spaces. I will simply divide the cost of hire for Blyton by the number of entrants and refund as appropriate when I have final numbers. Anyone want more info or to book on contact me through here or on 07843699463 or email to mhautoservices@aol.com Marto

  4. Sounds like your wish list is a very close description of my car (which isn't for sale BTW) 2 litre Zetec on jenvey throttle bodies - 172bhp Type 9 5-speed gearbox LSD A few carbon bits (to be further enhanced during my ownership...) RAC roll bar Harnesses Composite seats The only items on your wish list that it doesn't have is a screen and weather gear. For what its worth, I reckon buffeting is just as bad with a screen. I've heard drivers with screens wishing for wipers on both sides of the glass, so you can guess how the aerodynamics work... I wear a helmet if I'm going any great distance, otherwise its a thick beanie hat, some very good goggles and a face-mask if its chilly. With the right aero-screen, nothing lightweight hits you anyway, although I reckon a stone would leave a bruise, even through a thick beanie hat As for weather gear, my bones are too old to be setting out with a strong chance of rain so weather gear is limited to what I'm wearing. One other thing for your list - heater or not - for my use, its not a problem to have no heater, but on a couple of the Peak District runs, I've envied the people that still had feeling in their extremities after a spirited drive over the hills. Gratuitous piccy

  5. @Tom (T3OMF) - Cotswolds AO has the best answer and generally changes most of his bodywork to go from screen to aero My missus moans about buffeting with a screen . I guess I wouldnt hear her without !

  6. I wouldnt be too bothered about an LSD for road use and as a track novice to be honest. With an open diff you're much less likely to be spat off backwards into the scenery when grip is low.

  8. Many thanks for all your replies. I now understand the car to be fitted with a Raceline wet sump, Type9 gearbox, open diff and no swirl pot attached. I did speak briefly to Mike several weeks ago, but that was a while before deciding to buy the car. He did say it was commissioned as a very basic low cost track car. He did say the Zetec was new and he fitted it with the bike carbs. Westfield have confirmed the chassis as a 2002. It is in very good condition so I’m guessing it was all repainted when re-built in 2014.

  10. @Chris Broster - Bristol & Bath AO It was my predecessor who advised we may have failed units available. Unfortunately we changed supplier at the beginning of the month and the items are no longer available. Should we receive any items from our new suppliers that fail our QC process, I'll take photos and list here at a reduced cost. This will be done as and when we have items available. Regards Patrick

  13. @Tommo99 I note on your latest ad that one must have is a windscreen as it’s predominamtly for road use. Well, I wouldn’t discount an aeroscreen! My car was 95% road use in first 2-3 years including Alps, Scottish highlands and Welsh mountain tours. I did 5k road miles a year getting caught in biblical rain at times. Personally, I would never even consider fitting a windscreen after all of that and there’s a few of us hardy Northerners that agree see below for our tour pics and play “spot the windscreen”

  17. Never used, this replaces the short two into one pipe, with cat in the middle that is part of the factory Mega S2000 exhaust. Comes with a bung welded in for the stock lambda probe. Depending how well used your manifold is, you might need to spread the sleeves open a tiny bit more on the link pipe. These were had made by another S2000 owner, before the factory released there’s. They’ve been in use on several cars for years now, doing sterling service. I’m changing manifold and silencer on mine, so this one will never get used. A factory pipe will cost you £326! https://parts.westfield-sportscars.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=824&search=Link+pipe&description=true Or you can have this, for a bargain £125 plus carriage.
