Now I asked last week and was told it’s all “due” in on time. No surprise phone calls today to advise that it isn’t ready. Was a bit shocked so sent a quick email to see if it’s all ok. Apparently so! Lets see what tomorrow brings. @IanK (Bagpuss) the wallet is next to useless after paying the final balance and Xmas shopping lol.3 points

Clan McWesty: Strathfillan Wigwams aka Just a Bunch of Cowboys! Hi ALL I'm writing this to you on behalf of Gary Taylor our new AO, saving him just having to repeat the info that I'd send him, and the fact that the Strathfillan Wigwams are managed by the organisation that I work for! Many of you will recall (if you read your emails and/or check the forum) that we agreed to look at a new venue for our annual June long weekend and the Strathfillan Wigwams came up as the most agreeable and I was to chase it along and I have. A few members have said that they've stayed there before when in the area and it's very good. Details can be found here: https://www.sruc.ac.uk/info/120216/strathfillan_wigwams I spoke with Rena (the campsite manager) today and we're all go for Friday 21st June check-in to Sunday 23rd June check-out (2 nights). Rena has set aside 7 wigwams (W14-W20) and 2 lodges (Firewater and Beaver, snigger snigger) for us but has said it's not a problem if we need more as there are still other wigwams available for now and also pitches for tents. Okay, so for the details and points to note: PLEASE check out the webpage for the campsite from the link above to view the wigwams and lodges and decide on what you personally would like to book and also look at the attached 'hand drawn' plan for bearings. Members have mentioned that this would definitely be a nice alternative to basecamp for tours on roads that we haven't done before. 1. Wigwams (sleep up to 4 if I recall) have basic beds and wee fridges (a slight improvement on Applecross). Lodges (sleep 4-6 if I recall) have en-suite toilet and shower and also microwaves and kettles. 2. There's a shower/kitchen block for well .. .. for showering and kitchening! Kitchen has cookers and microwaves. Showers are £1 for 8 minutes .. I only take 4 minutes so if someone wants to share!!! 3. There's a small shop on-site that has a wee bit extra BBQ food, sweeties, soups, pot noodles, etc .. but I don't think any drink? 4. Every wigwam and lodge has a BBQ pit out front but it might be best to still bring our communal BBQ for our gatherings. 5. I suggest we each bring our own grub (even if just for the second night) and it can be kept fresh in your fridges. 6. We should still take up our Clan shelter but may struggle to pitch it by the wigwams. 7. We can go out for breakfast or the wee shop does hot rolls/coffee in the morning if we give Rena notice! WHAT YOU NEED TO DO NEXT! 1. You need to call 01838 400251 and ask for Rena, then mention that you are part of the Reid group for 2 nights, 21st/22nd June! DO NOT call the 0131 number on the website!! 2. Have a chat with Rena as to what you want ie a wigwam, a lodge or a tent pitch. Note for all you campers - we're not supposed to put up tents next to the wigwams but Rena may be able to allow you to put a couple up. 3. There is a deposit to pay so have your payment details handy! I think that's all for now. Any questions, just get in touch with me. That is all! Rab1 point

Our Christmas get together will be on Saturday 15th December. We will go to the Weatherspoons in Scarborough for something to eat before venturing down to the amusements for bowling, terror tower, penny pushers, and ice creams. We will meet at Weatherspoons at 12 noon. Parking is only 50 yards from the pub. Prior to this, I will be travelling up to Darlington for breakfast if anyone wishes to join me in my tiptop. I will be back at my house for 10.30am. Anyone local can meet at my house for coffee prior to leaving for the pub if they wish. Who is coming. Me. Jude. Gary. Malc. Di. Dave.1 point

Well the Supertrapp arrived and I made a bracket for it and bolts it on and all went very well. It sounds great sitting in the driveway but I'm not taking it for a drive today because the temperature is currently 15° F (-9°C) and that's just too cold for it to be any fun. I weighed the old silencer and brackets and of course did the same with the Supertrapp and the total weight loss ended up being 5.2 lbs (2.4kg). Once I've driven it and put it on the dyno and tested it I'll report back. That could be awhile as it's full on winter here but if I can pull it off soon I will. dave1 point

Well the flooring is here and we are supposed to be in Krakow for a long weekend with a rabble of friends , but the latest wife got struck down with sickness on Tuesday and she is still pretty poorly. So, my delivery driver from work drops the flooring off and she is crashed on the sofa........... i think you may have an inkling on what happens next. Yes, as per my previous post, it is raining and I am not one to really want to sit on my back door grapes, so I started and got about 2/3rds down. Easy as an easy thing, but I bought a upvc cutting disc from Screwfix to cut them. What happens then is you loose all vision for the grey fire that appears to fill the room. Not wanting to open the garage as the dehumidifier is on, I soldier on in pea soup vision I have also joined @Steve (sdh2903) club of angle grinding my knuckle , which is not a great thing to do really, but I didnt want to feel left out of his club. Come to think of it, its a daft club to be in as it bl**** hurts I then resorted to a laminate cutting hand saw and it makes less mess , no smoke bombs and also currently no fingers have claret leaking from them. First picture has a bit of a haze about it, weirdly and that was after I had left the room, had dinner and washed up Tomorrow consists of moving the tool boxes and shortening bench legs while it rains and if it stops raining , then push the Westie out and finish under there. Its not ' quite' the sizing they suggest , but I will put some alloy angle against the wall to hide the gap and still allow for expansion. Oh and also take the other 2 cutting discs for UPVC back to screwfix as they lied about being a cutting disc, they were fire discs Oh and Christmas job finished a little early again1 point

As said blankets etc. Ian's a master at packing your bits in a van as TJ said. Don't forget to take as many photos as you can of cars in build in the factory (doesn't matter what model), they were an invaluable reference for me. Not so valuable as the forum obviously . There was a car on the lift when I went, Ian raised it so I could go underneath and take some shots, as well. Enjoy the day.1 point

I took loads of blankets and towels , which ironically after 2 1/2 years just emptied the crate they were in last night, unused , as the factory didnt advise on the bodywork not being ready when I collected 'half' my car. So, maybe ask them what they have as I needed nothing towel wise as Ian has the worlds largest drum of cardboard for stuff and knows how to pack a van with his hands behind his back. But do take straps to hold the chassis down from bumps in the brummie roads.1 point
