  3. I have now spoken to BMTR about the Avon ZZR 8018 and 8019 tyres. They have not seen any of these tyres yet but they appear to be another tyre developed for the Caterham Race Series. They are not soft compound and are a road going tyre in sizes 185x55x13 and 215x55x13. These can be used by anyone and not just Caterhams as OE. The soft ZZR tyre that most of the SS drivers use will still be available as a list 1C tyre.

  5. Tyres were £85 from the other supplier including delivery and good feedback on the bay. Yes, they are 205 50 15's Don. They are AD08r's eBay item number: 113196557683 Tweeks wanted £93 each IIRC and initially wanted to charge postage , even though on ebay they don't charge. Thought by going direct and avoiding the bay , there might be leeway on the phone to them. They said the guys must have imported them rather than got them from Yokohama UK. Adge bought the same tyres and got them supplied and fitted for a similar price as I could get them from Hi Q. So, I didn't buy them yet and will sort them later in the weekend, as I have home breakages to resolve as a priority first now. eBay item number: 310982595873 I guess if you don't ask ........ Waits for @Steve (sdh2903) too arrive with a blinding cheap deal But it will mean free fitting if I could get them at £85, in a way, so will probably do that in the end. Just cant believe the £3.50 a tyre margin !

  6. I've just bought a westfield supplied 6" carbon can and it comes in at 3.7 kgs. I'd say it must be a new supplier as the last one I had from them was considerably heavier (but was a 3" system vs this one being a 2.5")

  7. Just wanted to express my thanks to David at Tillett Car Seats, what great customer service & an excellent quality product, namely the B6's. Hopefully will get them fitted soon as my build progresses :0)

  8. I am friends with Mat at Procomp who originally built the car with his sadly departed dad Ivan for a chap called Pete Rowney. Here is a pic of the original car in Procomp's workshop sent by Mat. The exhaust manifold and silencer is absolutely a superb replica and identical in detail (not shown in pic below)

  13. What an amazing gesture. Such a perfect reminder of how finding 5 mins to go the extra mile can make so much difference to someone else. That little boy will remember that for ever.

  18. I'm still waiting for the cash, so stuck everything on tick for now. I mean, it's a dead cert , so nothing to loose Russian ladies................. yes.................Mine 'didn't ' quite look like the picture I was sent. Allegedly its something to do with radioactivity from working on submarines or something. She had gone from a size 8 to 26 , had issues with body hair and luggage allowances from shot put balls and renamed herself as Bogdan I am glad you have found a lovely russian lady. I am sure I was the only one to not find love there

  20. The day kicked off well when I got asked this first thing morning if I would like to 'feel my leg' by Dave, a girly of my age does not get that opportunity very often, so I had to oblige, oooh it was hot . Honda engines are pretty good at looking after their drivers in the winter and keeping them warm, as demonstrated by Dave, he was toasty when he arrived. Bill and I were busy sharing my hot water bottle to warm our right hand, the one stuck out in the open up on the steering wheel. Anyway, down to business, more to the point down to cake, the homemade, breakfast type, here you go Bakewell tart and treacle tart Dave hot legs had his very favourite rhubarb crumble and custard (it is 10.30am) I love how flexible the WSCC members are, they eat anything at any time of the day, love it. Bill, Dave and Ian joined us at Hulme End, which is closed after today until next February. Note how lovely and clean these cars are. Bill had new air filters on and after talking to Dave he had a new set of second hand lights coming his way. Richard had a non starter and PaulVX was meeting us at The Snake Inn, so off we went. What a great route, it was quiet and the curls in the road just went on and on, knowing that we still had the Snake Pass waiting for us, I have really enjoyed the driving today. Plus it is always easier with a smaller convoy and the Honda boys behind always do things to my head, loved it. I did, however, find the big, sludgy, tractor man and possibly the grottiest bit of road in the world, I mean we even had to slow down a bit for it, tut. Bill found most of it but Ian decided to wear it Dave was doing a line in dried sludge, free to a good home if you want some That put us at The Snake Inn, which was empty when we arrived and full of hikers when we left. We enjoyed a nice lunch over some good car based chat, all next to the real fire, toasty. It's been a brill day out with great driving, chat and food, I even make it so you can all have the pleasure of washing your cars when you get home, and at least it wasn't cow derived. If there is anyone that can come out next weekend I would very much like to put a run out on, but I know a lot of cars are coming of the road as December hits. Failing that the weekend after (Sat 8th Dec) is a tin top friendly doo with a visit to the GBS (German Bratwurst Sausage, stop it, Great British Sports Cars) factory open day, so hopefully see you there.
