  1. Morning all. I went for the duramat tiles in the end.. They had an offer on this week and went for blue and white check for a bit of colour. (I'm going to regret the whit but they were cheaper than grey and I didn't want black). If I'm lucky they will arrive today. I've got the dilemma of do I stay in and wait and it not showing up or risk venturing out and missing the delivery. Toybox have 2 v8s that I'm waiting for the spec on. I've also got a load of work on the house to get sorted which may delay the purchase unless one comes up that the mrs and I fall in love with. Photos of garage when tiles arrive will be done. I know you all like that sort of thing.

  2. Over the years, I've found myself wanting to drill and machine lots of small bits of plastic and aluminium - particularly now that I make cases for various electronic projects, so I've treated myself to a Proxxon MF70 micro mill that I plan to convert to CNC. It's VERY small, but has a good reputation for accuracy and the conversion to stepper motor drive is well documented already. Still, thought I'd post it on here in case anyone else is doing the same...

  4. No, it's a bit of a rubbish cafe, nice location though, we can go if you like for just a coffee, umph, it's dangerously close to the tunnel

  5. I am being optimistic for tomorrows weather and should we get to Hulme End and it be iffy I have plan B up my sleeve for lunch on lower ground. Paul VX is joining us for lunch later in his M240i (VX is SORN). The Tea Junction will close as usual in December and January, when it reopens in February Georgina from Wetton Mill cafe will be running it, lets hope it has the good, homemade fayre on offer that we are used to. See you in the morning xxx Edit. This is the forecast for the Snake Pass, released at 5.30pm today, not too bad. Tomorrow's Pass Forecast 5:30pm Mainly dry with clear spells in the west through the early hours but eastern hills looks cloudier. Then a bright morning with some sunny spells, the best of these in the west, with rather more cloud in the east with the odd shower around. Clear spells and a few showers continue through the evening.

  6. No, the mount that bolts to the carbon and stainless Westfield cans is the equivalent of the tab that's welded on to the silencer in your photo. You can see the bit I mean in the photo below, it screws straight to the end of the silencer, using the same dome head Allen bits that hold the silencers end cap on. It then sits underneath of the rubber bush, at a downward angle, which in turns sits under of a black finished steel bracket that looks very similar to what you already have. As the mount is welded stainless, IIRC, shaped to fit the silencer, and handed left or right, I'm 80% certain they come with the silencer. But probably only Westfield can tell you for sure if that's still the case. (Though I have to say, the one in the photo above looks fitted a little tight to the tub for my liking!)

  7. If you are still looking I know of a possible Sei car , crossflow on a q plate , he also has a C20XE engined car too although not sure on age of that one . Not sure on date registered probably would be 88 or 89 . Chassis is the best I have seen on a car of that age , in good mechanical condition . Let me know if of interest and I will pass on the owners details .

  8. Indeed, a chip in my full face helmet, in the area corresponding to where my forehead would have been, with no helmet on, had me feeling quite sick the first time I saw it. At a minimum, I'd have needed stitches, but even if it hadn't knocked me out cold, I can be fairly sure I'd have been dazed enough to have struggled to keep control of the car at the time.

  9. I have always driven on the road with just a pair of sunnies or safety glasses, but won’t do it again as there is now a hole in my carbon fibre headrest on the passenger seat from a stone. Terrifying to think what could have happened!!
