Oh I love a good competition, the winning value has been hovering just below the 4000 mile mark for a while and then at the last minute it got beaten, very entertaining. The winner is @MattV with 5461 miles. Second place is @matthew902 with 3802 miles. Third place is @AndrewBClarke with 3359 miles. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone for taking part3 points

Looks like a nice install, but yes, please, connect the blanked of the rad to the tank... you have a nice air trap there and is never a good idea. As allways I´m late... But you can get OAT in any colour... And actually any Organic antifreeze would be chemically compatible... including the G1xx from volksvagen (I´m just on the process of changing the coolant on all the engine variants we handle...) However, and given that this cars never will see any form of Ice and snow (appart of @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary's car), and will rarely live in a garage with -5 dregrees, I would go for minimal ammount of mixures, and I would always use deionized water... (even better if you just avoid the use of any form of glycol and go for something like Water Wetter or Mocool) with really good anti-corrosion properties, and less shielding for the heat transfer than the Glycol. Just an idea for next winter flush!2 points

John - I echo your comments about 2 wheel trailers reacting to blow outs. I had one and I like you, didn't end up in the ditch.2 points

I have for sale one Brian James Clubman 1500 trailer. For those not familiar with the Clubman range, this is a twin axle trailer, with brakes on all 4 wheels, spare wheel, open, with ramps. The bed is 4 mtr. x 1.70 mtr. Note, this is ideal for a Westfield, Caterham etc., or a classic car. However it is the narrower bed, so most tin tops will not fit on it unless they are small. Heavy duty jockey wheel fitted. Also manual winch. I want this gone, so priced to sell at £1,100 or very near offer.1 point

While my Bonnet is off and as I was bored today I went into the garage and decided to take the radiator off .As I’ve said before I am a total beginner to thie mechanical side of things but found it surprisingly easy and enjoyable .I’ve got an oil cooler mounted to the front and as I wasn’t sure if the existing fan ,brackets ,thermostat ,and hoses would work on the Coolex rad ,I decided to jump in the car with it and drive the hour to Nottingham to their Premises . When I got there, the owner ,Steve was on reception .He was a true gent and showed me the Coolex rad and answered all my questions. The Spall fan on my old rad was slightly bigger than the radiator itself and he said it would be possible to weld a couple of brackets on to make it work if I wanted to leave it with him .I said I’d happily go for the rad with fan fitted option however Most of the staff were at a car show in Birmingham with the entire stock of Radiators with fans already mounted . He offered me a cup of tea and said if I didn’t mind waiting for half an hour he would get a radiator welded up with a couple of brackets and fit a fan .When the new radiator appeared he had fitted the thermostat and blanked off the return tube on the top ,my old one had a screw blanking it off . I just thought I’d say a big thanks to Steve and give him a mention ,in a day and age of internet sales and correspondence it’s good to know you can still turn up ,walk in and receive such good service . Im planning on fitting it tomorrow so may have a few questions1 point

I have 1400 k series partially lightened flywheel with a Helix updated clutch cover and paddle centre plate but not ceramic material Has worked well for me over a number of years I can fish out the paperwork for you if it would be of interest to get the correct part helix numbers? You now have at least 3 different options to consider! G1 point

I had a rev 2 Turbo - contrary to the above I found the back end quite planted, and that was on T1Rs back in the day! Very fast, sounded awesome, easily tweaked, not super reliable (Mine anyway) sounded like Darth Vadar breathing down your neck.1 point

Spot on. Didn’t know the names of the wee Lochs though. Localish for me as well as I am at Spean Bridge and is a much better way for me to go when I visit my mum than the other side of Loch Ness. I am sure we will meet soon.1 point

Check with the court but I have a feeling that as the claim was a success, you should get your court fees back as well. Have the court followed up confirming your award? If not, you should ask them for a copy of the judgement. Either way, well done for getting this far1 point

@Westfield Parts Dept Many thanks for prompt delivery. Ordered late Thursday evening, arrived this morning 10.30 . Really pleased with the quality of the shirts, the website description doesn't do them justice IMHO. That's Christmas presents from my grandchildren sorted, I'll get what I want this year!1 point

Yes indeed, spoke to Simon earlier today on a prompt from other folks and wished him well.1 point

Oooh! Wow. I never usually win anything. Thanks to my fellow Lincolnshire members, and @Julie Hall - AO Representative, Peak District AO for arranging the meets which in large part have contributed to the mileage. Can’t wait to get back on the road and put more miles on!1 point

Just noticed all three winners are from Lincolnshire area so a win for the Lincolnshire yellowbellies.1 point

Well it happened! The rebooted Bristol and Bath area meet started again yesterday with a fine gathering (Thanks Rob and Steve) at The Riverside Inn, Saltford. Introductions and car histories were discussed as well as plans for the winter upgrades. Still working regular meet day/night and Xmas drinks. Any plans for shows and track days welcome too? More to follow regards chris1 point

Ever tried a photo of the rear view so you can see all the leaves being scattered. My rear view mirror always shows a beautiful shot if I only I could capture it?1 point

I've just submitted my MOT certificate - one of my fears about buying a Westie was that it would just sit in the garage collecting MOT certificates with very small mileage increments. Perhaps it's the "new-ness" of the Westie experience, and maybe it's the draw of some rather entertaining runs over the Peak District, but I seem to have done rather more miles than I thought I would...1 point
