  2. Don't forget a seat for a well deserved rest. I made a frame for my old Lexus rear seats after scrapping the car. I disconnected the fridge and massage units.

  3. Made the trip to the Tower of London last night to see "Beyond the Deepening Shadow: The Tower Remembers" Well worth the trip, although be prepared to queue for about an hour to get to the moat wall. Not quite as dramatic as the poppies in 2014 but a fitting tribute. We took grandchildren to the Imperial War Museum a couple of weeks ago and they have an impressive display of some of the 2014 poppies outside. There is a similar display at IWM North in Manchester.

  4. I hang my head in shame for having yellows on the back of my car. Even though they work perfectly fine and match the m1144’s up front for good ballence I feel like I should change them just because I must have been a total muppet for fitting them and admitting it.

  6. I've used an old bit of carpet before, but after a while it soaks oil in and if your foolish enough to fire up the angle grinder, when it combusts into a 'reasonably' sized fire , you then learn a new dance. It involves a frantic stare, followed closely behind of shear panic , this leads onto trying to unlock the rear garage door , and with 8 thumbs, turning the garden tap on. What follows is the black mess leaving the front of the garage , as the fire is extinguished , followed by a pile of smoldering carpet being stacked neatly by the wheelie bin Ex missus , walks out the house ' I can smell burning !' Me: ' nah, I cant. Must be someone with a bonfire or something' Ex missus ' Oh, I cant see anything upstairs in the house' Me ' Don't worry yourself. What fool would burn anything in a housing estate ?' Ex missus ' its weird, oh well, never mind' Me ' I decided that want to put proper flooring in the garage for the Westie to park onto, I think the carpet was a bad idea'

  7. Was nice to catch up with everybody, and listen to more "dog" stories from Des and Debs, always funny, especially the hover and tail incident

  8. New nose cone and bonnet and swap the rear arches to a contrasting colour could be one low cost option as your parts will sell to recover some costs . Or look out for a unbuilt kit to buy and do a body swap and sell the components after, I have just done a full body swap for arround £1200 including fixings which compaired to a repaint or wrap is good value .

  13. Try these https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/anti-fatigue-foam-floor-tiles-pk6/?da=1&TC=GS-051817000&&gclid=Cj0KCQiAlIXfBRCpARIsAKvManyTiMctAlFdfQ_8hNVROKVDeFThjQ5mm6JdZ6sPnEIdNtOx3lS4_0UaAgUIEALw_wcB You can either do the whole floor or just buy a pack to use as kneeling and lying mats to move around with you. You could also put some near your bench so when you stand at the bench your feet don't get cold. I've done the whole floor and kept some back for working outside on the drive. You can also insulate the back of your garage door to reflect heat back and put a rubber skirt at the base to stop draft and dirt. Leave the top gap for airflow and petrol fumes....... My garage is insulated and dry lined with insulation and keeps 5 degrees above ambient with no heating. Cheers Jon. Ps I didn't build my car but do enjoy working on it which is inevitable with a Westfield but my garage is a nice place to be now

  15. Well, my Chassis has never been road registered, so it would be easier to go in G for the time being, may road register it in the future, but G seems the best option for now.

  16. Just got home from the show, many thanks to Colin for booking and arranging everything. The weather was best on Saturday with good numbers and a very full car park of classic/kit cars. Sunday was mostly drizzle/rain but still good numbers even though the classic/kit cars in the car park were fewer.
