  3. A false economy I’d say. It’s a chicken and egg thing, there are officially so few Rivnuts so as to make it easier for the average builder to get away without buying a tool. However, with a decent tool, I eventually got a Memfast one, and wished I’d done it years and several builds ago, after using the pop riveter style one for a long time. You realise just how many fastening would be much, much better done with Rivnuts. Everything from fixing the das to the scuttle, to securing the fuse boxes to the footwell cover plate, to the tunnel cover panels, and that’s before you even g t to mounting brackets and things on the chassis.

  6. I really try not to say much on Brexit as others have said its so divisive, this is worth a watch you can see the embarrassment on the people its aimed at, there seems to be a lot of sense spoken in my humble opinion and its a real shame that article 50 does not clearly lay out how to truly exit rather than open negotiations. Its a sad inditement to the EU, it should not be frightened of countries exiting and joining if it truly is to the benefit of all. I'm not saying it is or isn't. I do agree any negotiations if given timelines goes down to the wire and I hope that sense prevails

  7. Took a booze cruise to Calais yesterday, lovely day, nice French meal, friendly locals. Came back with 88 litres of wine for £250.74, and free P&O return. Of course at that price it's only the good stuff. Still want to leave the EU though!

  10. Apparently they do. Ive only used once a propper kit supplied with the SPAL fan... and it went absolutely all right, but is true that i do normaly use plain zipties with rubber grommets and 2 metal washers, and they allow a better adjustment as you can click every 0.5mm rather than every 2 or 3 mm for the "fitting kits" I do have a spare rad, and if adam has a fan kicking around Im happy to do so even before he is finishing his build. Will keep you posted!

  11. Thought you might be, but didn't want to jump the gun! That would be really handy. I do wonder if half the issues aren't the method per say, but the shockingly poor quality fixing kits that you tend to get supplied. Kind of ironic if plain old tie wraps, used with the right grommets, washers or what ever do a better job!

  12. I'll do one when I fit my fan, will be using items supplied by Maurici and under his guidance. For reference, the fan on my previous car was fitted like has been discussed in this thread, no issues even though it had worked loose. I fitted a new rad and re-fixed it with the same method, that didn't come loose at all and that was with a fair bit of track abuse (kerbs etc)!

  14. Just watched episode 20 tonight, so it should be on general release in the next day or so. It’s so nice to know someone has built a heavier “small car” than me! I am beginning to wonder if the original A series might have had a better power to weight ratio! But the shear engineering involved - wait till you see the alternator/AC pump set up is staggering!!

  17. Here’s my suggestion. Mrs May stops being called to the EU at short notice. Write this message. Dispite our efforts, and our close friendship, we feel at present we are unable to reach an acceptable relationship. With regret we therefore intend to leave without a deal in March 2019. If the EU have any further ideas or suggestions they are welcome to visit the UK to discuss them. As always we look forward to a continuing friendship with the people of Europe and confirm that those EU members who currently live here are welcome to stay. Goodbye.
