Its a Yellow FW SE with 2L Zetec - fairly standard at this point - but I'm sure that will change It has been IVA'd in the UK - and registered in UK as well initially - it got very convoluted! Decisions had to be made over IVA in UK / SVA in IoM, first reg in UK or IoM. Simon at the factory has been very helpful / patient whilst sorting out the pro's and con's. Final decision was it was better to have UK IVA and Reg should I ever want to sell it back into UK. So it will exist on UK plates for a few weeks till I re-register on IoM.4 points

Thanks to all that attended our Llandow Track. As has been said above, we had all the weather and even the sun came for a few seconds. Thanks to your good driving skills there were no red flags all day. We'll be holding another event there next year, so keep your eyes peeled if you want to join us2 points

Well, I had the sad experience of watching my baby being driven away to a new home this morning, so that marks the end of my current Westfield build and ownership experience. Who's to say it won't happen again, but for the moment, I shall not be renewing WSCC membership. That said, the new owners have strict instructions to take over my membership, so there will be some new faces soon. I'd just like to say thanks to all of you, especially those in the Cotswold group and those of you who shared track days at Hullavington and Abingdon with me - all of whom have made the whole Westfield ownership experience a real pleasure. The fun, friendship, banter and advice during the build and after and the motoring fun over the last 7 years are a testament to what a great club, this is and what a nice bunch of people you are. We shall meet again, I'm sure, but until then, thanks and drive safely. Mooch1 point

I believe so, Yes it was, but it was a "hard core" event, so paid up members only, don't think it was promoted on the general FB page, though there are some good photos of it there. Looked a great turn out, and a credit to the NWKCOG.1 point

Of course it’s your money and your choice, but definitely buy on spec rather than age I’d say. A 16 plate car often may be nowhere near as good as a 25 year old Q that has had the full blown ‘Deluxe’ Trigger’s Broom treatment! Also, getting a “well known to the forum” car is a good idea as you can often find the build/modification history on here and review the way it’s been built and cared for. Good hunting!1 point

Fair play, enjoy the hunt! Final tip, remember that the value of a kit car is more more about the quality of build than the spec sheet. I've fallen foul of that one before and the 'cheap' £12k car with mega spec suddenly became a £19k car by the time I was done sorting it out, and still only worth £12k... Cars known to / built by certain clued-up club members are always worth considering even if the spec list doesn't tick all your boxes. Bolt on bits are easy to change, a dog rough original build is a nightmare to sort out.1 point

I've driven Atom's and Caterhams previously so I have some (minor) experience of lightweight cars on track. I guess it's all just a personal preference and from a few other cars I've seen I wouldn't be paying £12k for a 14 year old R1 powered Westfield. All helpful comments though, much appreciated and I hope you, or anyone, doesn't feel that I'm just batting them away1 point

Why? Westies on a Q are no problem for anything other than vanity plates. Edit - especially if it’s 99% track use. A number plate makes no difference to lap times Q is not a “devalued” marker on a kit car as we always buy on spec and build quality. In fact it’s an advantage come mot time for emissions and lights etc.1 point

Last price drop to £2250 This is a good strong engine and would be excellent for road use. It also has the plug and play ME221 harness, engine coil pack and the ecu has the map, so would be an easy install. The reason for the sale is I'm changing to a crossflow for age and class structure.1 point

Oh and when you put your Westy to bed (ours is called Mrs P) that evening thank it for the memories it's given and give it it gentle stroke or kiss good night so that it may reward with the same next day. They have feelings to!1 point
