  1. MoT time for my Z3 2.2i Sport today, and I had a brief word with the tester beforehand on the matter of the rubbish BMW hand brakes, and he agreed. Good start. Later, he comments that the rear suspension is very similar to his E36 Compact and this starts a conversation about handling and track days during which I mention my Westfield. A few minutes go by while he tries to wrench the wheels off my car, then he says "what engine has your Westfield got then?" "Pinto" says I. Turns out he's restoring a Mk2 Escort with a 2.0l Pinto, twin 40s, Maxflow head, 205 block, and FR32 cam - exactly the spec of my Pinto engine. We're firm friends by now! The upshot is a pass with no advisories which I put down completely to the magic of Westfield ownership - by proxy. Hats in the air time!

  4. Wouldn’t it make you feel better if you could give someone that truly deserves it just one really good slap? If the answer is yes, this thread is for you. i’ll start us off... There’s a local who drives past my house 6-8 times a day (even after midnight) in his modded and slammed Citroen C2, of all things. The C2 has a 1.0l petrol engine taken from a lawn mower and hooked up to the gearbox from a sewing machine (no speeds, just patterns - stretch stitch, buttonhole, zigzag, etc). That’s fine, each to their own My issue is that he has invested in an aftermarket kit that shoots raw petrol into the exhaust every time he backs off the throttle, enough to create 2-3 backfires per second. Thus he spends most of his driving accelerating hard up to 10 mph over the limit and backing off, making it sound like we’re under sustained gunfire from an AK-47. It can heard up to 1/2 mile away. He wakes me up very early and very late with his stupid attention seeking device, and he needs a very badly. Your turn - who needs a ?

  14. Cheeky....it was a posed shot especially for Marcus. I actually took salad sandwiches with me but was pressured into having a burger. It was called “A dirty pig”. £7.00. And I didn’t eat it all.

  15. I have something similar to Scott. Chap around 30 who lives at the opposite end of our cul-de-sac to the entrance. He thinks it a great idea to go up and down the street as fast as he can in his civic type r. He says its because his car is loud. I've had a few civilised words with him over it but it doesn't seem to be getting through. There are only 20 houses in the street 10 either side there's just no need for it with young families in the street in my eyes he deserves more than a slap.

  19. Yes we had a cracking day! Not too many cars so lots of track time, plenty of which was pretty much clear and hardly any red flags. Weather was good too with a slight bit of drizzle around 4.30pm. But the icing on the cake was the superb tuition provided by @AdamR as I think @Matthew Haynes will no doubt agree. Has to be the best value for money “upgrade” to date that has made the car quicker! I’d also like to thank Adam for setting up my new ARBs which combined with the tuition and fresh geo from @Plays-Kool has turned the car into a much better track day tool - and importantly I’ve learned a bit more about how to use it. I'm very happy!!!
