Thanks all for coming and especially @Julie Hall - AO Representative, Peak District AO for arranging a fantastic run and providing the cake (which she did share). I'm certainly not going to forget this great day!5 points

Well I popped to Screwfix this morning and brought a bottle of zinffer's DIF and a tiger tool guessing I've got nothing to lose apart from £20 if it didn't work and I needed to rip it all out So after 15 minutes soaking the woodchip I set to it with the scraper and boy was I amazed the woodchip just peeled of and I didn't even damage the backing paper of the plaster board . So now the woodchip is of I'll get the plaster board plastered before I carry on . So thanks again @Geoffrey (Buttercup) - North Yorkshire AOfor the top tip4 points

So @Alfascozzesi, you want photo's do you? well prepare yourself. I have legs in black stockings, holding Westfield car keys with pink painted nails, are you ready...open your eyes NOW Today is Ian's 50th birthday, and his family set him up good and proper. He was to come out on a run through the Peak District and then we were to finish near his home so his wife and 2 daughters could come and join us all for lunch. The car was trimmed up with '50' banners and Ian was.........well I will let you decide what Ian was - a ruddy good sport for being brave enough to entertain us all with it, I think. It's the hairy chest in the dress that disturbs me the most A mad granny making a run for it Hilarious, I haven't laughed this much since.....since we all dressed as Santa in the cars last December....it was so funny and really set the party atmosphere going It's a good job that Marks and Spencer are up to date with their gender neutral facilities because Ian was not sure which toilet to use, ladies or gents. Dry your eyes and stop laughing for a minute while I get on with my story. We met at Ashbourne - Ian and Charlotte, Jon, Dave, Stuart, Paul (VX220) and Pat, Rob, Luke and Lucy, Andy, Scott and Emma, and Stephen in the XI. That made for a 10 car convoy, we set off through Ashbourne to very soon leave the main road and onto the finest of Peak District routes, especially found for Ian's birthday treat. They were empty, twisty, there were fast bits and there were scenic slow bits. It was a thoroughly good run and we arrived in good time at The Rudyard Hotel. Leaving Ashbourne Cars as far as the eye can see Through Ashbourne. We picked up Jordan and his father at Hulme End, which is where we regrouped. At this point we had lost Jon, who was a little bit over hot and went home to sort it out. And to The Hotel Rudyard Ian's wife and other daughter arrived soon after, then the Manchester Mob arrived Richard Paul and Margaret Jim and Julie Graham and a couple in a Tiger were there too, but I did not get a photo, sorry. Thank you to Paul for adding to our day by bringing everyone down with him. I had booked a table for 18 and there was actually 27 of us, credit to the hotel though, they coped very well with it. Ian and his daughters with the 50 candles blazing on his cake The Hotel is on a lake so we went down to have a sea-side moment. It certainly was a day to remember, we will laugh about this for a long time to come, it's a good job that Ian takes it all so well, he is brilliant like that, always up for a mad moment, happy birthday Ian and enjoy the rest of your day. Next weekend Ian is back in his normal attire, I hope so anyway, he did seem to get quite comfortable as the day went on, with his Dyno Day in Warrington. We hope to see you all the weekend after. Jon, you looked great, it's the first time I have seen your Westfield, I need a peek under that bonnet though. Hope you get everything fixed ready for next time.4 points

Sorry I didn't find you again. After 10 minutes the starter cooled but you were long gone. Just an unfortunate set of circumstances. Will be coming on more if weather permits. Ian was an absolute good sport. I actually wondered if he does it more often, he seemed quite comfortable.......2 points

Reluctantly for sale is my 2009 Westfield 2.0 Sport Duratec Yellow & Black (The best combination ) 2000cc Ford Duratec Engine MT75 Gearbox Limited Slip Diff KMS Throttle Bodies & ECU Simpson Custom Made Bonnet Exit Exhaust System Alloy Radiator Long Range Fuel Tank Team Dynamics Pro Race 15” Black Alloys with Toyo R888 Tyres Westfield AP Racing 4 Pot Front Brakes Westfield Rear Anti Roll Bar Race Technology Digi Dash Savage Switches LED Rear Lights Carbon Fibre Dashboard Carbon Fibre Boot Lid Carbon Fibre Rear Panel Carbon Fibre Aero Screen Carbon Fibre Tunnel Top Carbon Fibre Half Doors Carbon Fibre Side Panels Carbon Fibre Sill Strips Caged Full MSA Roll Cage JK Composite Seats Procomp Shocks Cobra Immobiliser FIA Cut Off/ Kill Switch Removable Momo Steering Wheel Oil Catch Tank Wide Track Front Wishbones Detachable Rear Arches Lightweight Gel Battery 4 Point Westfield Harnesses High Level LED Brake Light (I think I have covered everything) The car was built by me from Westfield supplied parts and registered on 1st March 2009. It has covered 8750 miles and has been serviced every year regardless of the annual mileage. I have always used synthetic oil and replaced the filter. It has always started on the 1stturn of the key and has never let me down in all the time I have owned it. It has evolved over the years to the current setup, and I have enjoyed every moment of ownership The car is track focused but equally suited to touring, having done 2 trips to the LeMans Classic. The car was rolling road tuned at NMS in 2013 and got 160BHp at the wheels. The car is in excellent condition however there are a couple of minor cracks in the gel coat and some stone chips on the rear arches which are to be expected on a 9-year-old car. The powder coating on the lower front wishbones needs touching up. MOT due 14/03/2019. The car is currently on a private plate which will be changed on the sale of the car Very reluctant sale due to not having the time to use it. I am sure I will regret selling but at the moment it seems like the right thing to do. I am located in SW Birmingham (B31) 10 mins from M42 J2 or M5 J4 £12,750 ono PM me if you have any questions or call me on 07790 779787 I haven’t advertised the car elsewhere at the moment, I wanted to gauge interest from the WSCC collective. I will add more photos when I get time Thanks Paul1 point

440 on the drivers side and 430 on the passenger side. (The diff bulge isn't that bad and I've never heard anyone say the seats don't fit because of this) The end of the foot well is 5mm smaller on the passenger side as well 230mm rather than 235mm.1 point

Thanks Dave. Not wrong of you at all ‘cos I agree that it’s probably a unique car in terms of spec, build quality, setup and cleanliness. Indeed the end of an era, but the car is going to a passionate owner who will continue its story.1 point

Thanks guys. There was only time for a few small jobs this weekend. Firstly the chassis for the Carburol Special was lifted down from the rafters where its hung for the last few years. This necessitated a tidy-up of the garage to make enough room for it to sit on the floor. I'm currently exploring options to give a bit more building room. The axle assembly has been trial fitted and needed only a slight reaming of the fixing holes to allow the bolts to slide in more smoothly. then a trial fit of the bodywork. The Carburol presents a few challenges for fitting the body since the chassis has been substantially modified from it's JW4 origins. The new dash hoop projects higher than the top of the bodywork and the forward stays to the rollbar will need some cutting of the cockpit sides. I've got a small piece of damaged bodywork that I'd picked up a couple of years ago with some other stulff that I'd kept for such a task. As it turns out this is the same bodywork that adorned my other JW4 but had been removed from the car 30 years ago.1 point

Dave I was really surprised how well it worked on one wall there was 3 layers of lining paper on top of the woodchip which started to peel if the wall by its self as it zinffer's was soaking in . Just take a look at the review's for it on the Screwfix website1 point

Just go ahead and remove the plasterboard, in the long run it’s going to be less work. don’t wallpaper it again, paint it with emulsion in the future. No wallpaper in my houses for the last 30 years so a lot easier for a re-dec.1 point

I found this. I cannot i'm afraid help you with regard to the damage to the trunking. The removal of painted woodchip is one of the most tiresome and frustating jobs a decorator will come across. Add to this a plasterboard substrate and it can often turn frustration into a nightmare. The use of a steamer here is not recomended and therefore should be stopped before more damage is caused to the substrate and trunking alike.Useing something like an 80 grit sandpaper break through the paint film thus allowing moisture to penatrate the woodchip, then fill a spray bottle with a squirt of detergent and hot water and concentrate on an area of no more than 1M2 at a time. Spray the walls and allow 10 to 15 mins soaking time then spray again wait 5 mins and start to strip.Use here a quality sripping knife with a good clean edge and adopt the attitude of patience and hard graft, grit your teeth and wonders will be achieved. Any advice you require to the damaged plasterboard will be forthcoming if required. and this. Use a wallpaper removing liquid. Wallpaper removal gels and liquids like Zinsser’s DIF Gel use special patented enzymes to completely breakdown the wallpaper paste and consequently, do all the hard work for you. All that you need to do is roller or spray on the solution and wait for 15 minutes to allow it to work. Reapply and wait for another 15 minutes (yes go and make yourself a nice cup of tea and read the paper for a while). You’ll then find that that horrible woodchip wallpaper that you’d been having nightmares about simply glides off. There’s very little, if any, sticky mess because the old wallpaper paste is no longer sticky (the enzymes in DIF Gel breakdown the stickiness of the adhesive). And that’s really how simple it is.1 point

@WINGNUT apologies for the delay. Only remembered again when I had to fill up this morning You can see (just about) the exit of the hole inside the recess. I can't actually show you the entry hole as it is somewhat hidden on the lifting tab. If you disassemble the cap it should be straight forward to see. It's only aluminium so easy to drill with the smallest drill you have.1 point
