  4. As Dave says that does look like an AP1 engine which also have a few other different parts like a lighter flywheel & different clutch slave cylinder I believe. Here’s some pictures of mine to compare And as Ian said cost can vary greatly, I effectively got the engine for free after breaking an s2000 which I would say saved me £3000-£4000. I also sourced a lot of parts, so it was sub £17000 build on the road. But that was 3 years ago.

  5. A good shout to move the meeting to the Thursday, 6 cars, should have been 7 my throttle cable snapped just as I set off, so I jumped in with Roy. Adam turned up in his new toy Ferrari 430 so I swapped cars for the run out...Awesome night Steve

  7. Spax for me, can't tell you how good they are yet as not fitted them but I have had them done in a custom colour and they look like a quality product for the money. I thought I would diverge from the usual protec option with the MD of Spax being personally interested in Westfield, as in having one himself. Thanks @Damperman.

  8. Changing to a full cage so my narrow MSA roll bar is for sale. Includes fixing bolts and 'sleeves' for the backstays as shown. Centrelines of backstays are 770mm apart (which I think means it is the 'live axle' version, but I'm not 100% certain hence the dimension supplied! The chassis it came with is a narrow / live though, and I bought it from Luke so it'll be right ) and outermost bolts are ~905mm centre to centre. Can't say it is 'brand new' as it has been lightly bolted to the car, but for all intents and purposes it is a new item and still in original wrapping as shown. SOLD Any questions, fire away. Cheers, Adam

  9. Tonight I have been making the final preparations for a trip to Switzerland in the westy Nakkib and myself have been lucky enough to get away at least once a year for a holiday in the westfield abroad with various WSCC members and this year in no exception although the logistics have made this one a little different..... @Terryathome and Caroline have been swanning around Italy for the last two weeks (and don't I know it as Terry has been rubbing it in) on their 3 week European vacation - unfortunately Nakki and myself could only manage a weeks holiday this year so a plot was devised and preparations made for a rendezvous in Switzerland for us all to meet and spend a week together on a road a road trip home I met up with Terry and Caroline 2 weeks ago on the start of their journey when they passed by my house on their way to Hull P&O Ferry - check out the dodgy white tyre lettering lol When I got home I started thinking about my preps so got down to oil/filter change and car check over etc and noticed belt was looking a bit perished so I decided to replace it, when I loosened off the alternator the alternator bracket fell apart! In one respect it was good it happened now, but bad in another as I need to get it fixed! I didn't want to weld it as the break was close to the holes on the tab plates so luckily @Westfield Parts Dept had one in stock (great service guys cheers!) and posted it the same day so I have fitted a new one now so all is good :-) more to follow ....

  14. I emailed from my work email to the Gmail account you gave... The Email above is recieving emails and working... to many emails!... Sometimes people use a Dash not an underscore? Usually I get it a few days later after its been in the catchall. Email content... slightly edited for public reading Good morning Julian We supplied Westfield for may years and throughout the whole time I believe we supplied the same part numbers. But throughout the time there was various changes in the designs. The outcome is that I've seen dampers with the same part number which are quite different. Also there was no account for live, independent axle valving requirement differences. ! The dampers are £75 + VAT each. Front/ rear.... And i can tweak the specs to what you need, There's almost no internal or external parts of the dampers common to the old dampers but they will have a similar appearance. The Krypton range of dampers offer a great range of flexibility in use. My car is Largely road use and rides nasties better than my 3 series BMW, But I also do a few track days and nothing Westfieldy passes me unless it has seriously more power. Maybe not of interest can offer other powder coat colours. Koni red, British racing green, royal blue, black, silver, white... But my favourite is Spax Yellow... I'm not 100% of the exact details of the Pre-lit's.. To be sure we supply the right dampers I will need the Static length (the length of the dampers at normal ride height) and the extended length of the dampers with the wheels off the ground. Measured centre to centre of the bushes. It would be good to have a few pictures also. Sometimes the loops are larger to allow clearance to brackets...Other times not! ... The joys of kit cars / low volume cars I'm on holiday next week and for right or wrong no longer pick up emails/ stress over emails when they arrive. I have a week of ignorance and deal with the fall out on returning.

  17. That looks like a pre 2004 or thereabouts engine to me, the valve on the rocker cover that connects to the inlet manifold comes out vertically, before turning through 90 degrees to connect to the inlet on the earlier engine. In addition, it's got an air temp sender mounted on the inlet manifold, I'm not 100% on this, but I'm sure I read that the later engines, 06 onwards, that were drive by wire, had this relocated further away from the engine heat, and in the trunking that connects the throttle body to airbox. you can also, I think, just about make out the coolant plumbing that sits above the idle control valve. The Drive by wire car doesn't have the IACV, and lastly, I think you can just see the front of the cable operated throttle pulley in the second engine shot. You're absolutely right though, for that money I'd expect decent shots of every side, and of the sump. The engine prices have risen strongly over here, too. It reflects the S2000's move into appreciating modern classic territory. I've not looked for twelve months or so, but the average seemed to be creeping up past £3500 last time I did look. (Though there are always a few extremes, at either end of the price scale).
