Friday's advance party. I'm sure that today will be somewhat busier! Bring ear defenders or plugs - the grids are massive and some of the cars are LOUD. The Lola T70s in the Masters Sports Cars are particularly stunning - just watching the drivers set off down a straight, give the car another gear and leap forward again is properly impressive! Here in Oxford (only thirty miles away) the ground is already dry as it was rather thirsty. Yesterday evening's rain was the first round here since May 30th. Simon4 points

Yep. The plan is to fit ARBs but leave disconnected or very soft initially with Adam showing me how to control on the edge of grip (in theory!). Then later sessions we can use the ARBs and see how they help. So all booked up and looking forward to learning how to drive2 points

Also depends what temp the gauge reading starts at? Most cars as standard now need to see 50degrees before the gauge will start to move1 point

That’s perfectly normal Most senders are after the stat so only show a big rise once the stat opens. (Oops lots of iPhone typos!)1 point

Is the sender engine side of the stat? If not, there won't really be any flow over the sender until the stat opens1 point

Ta Simon, would be some cheap power if I was going that route but would mean a fair bit of work as I already have higher compression pistons than standard.1 point

@Blatman Eight spannies would be better (assuming it's paired pistons per head)! Multi-into-one expansion chambers just don't scavenge well enough and confusing back pressures make for a narrow power band - it's better with the drainpipes. I've been there, done that...nice try but a 750rpm power band with a four speed just didn't work! The car is my 1974 Suzuki Fronte GX coupe - 360cc two-stroke, triple carbed, reed valved, needle roller mains. I kept it in NZ for 15 years, after pulling it out of a lean-to barn (amazingly rust-free) and restoring it - only sold it in 2016 to buy the Westfield. Not quite the speed of a Westfield, but the same go-kart handling with your bum scraping the ground!1 point

Just about to put it back together....took this picture earlier today. New clutch, flywheel skimmed, alternator rectifier and loom connector replaced, all flexible fuel pipes replaced with ethanol friendly (and stupidly expensive) Barricade hose, new cam belt and idlers/tensioner. Should see us out. All back together now bar the rad and a couple of hoses. Should be back on the road again tomorrow.1 point
