Ok so you were warned..... as we’re enjoying some warmer than average weather, took the westy to work today, and after a hot sticky ruff day gave Trina a quick call and cancelled tea, Home showered and we were off in gloriously hot sunshine had a run up to aviemore for a chippie and 99 , then had been tipped off about a lovely little spot down some wee roads so off we went exploring and discovered a truly hidden gem in Loch eilaan from here we took all the back roads home and only saw three cars and a bus.... for a spur of the moment thing we had a great 3 1/2 hours tootling and exploring...... happy days4 points

Just wanted to say a massive thanks to @Arm for all the hard work, help, advice and perseverance in rebuilding my engine. Totally over the moon with the quality of the work done (bracket manufacture is top quality) and advice given throughout the journey. The outcome today on the rollers was better than envisaged. We aimed for 240 bhp as a strong figure and got 242 bhp at a very sensible rev limit of 7300 rpm along with 179lbft at 6,000 rpm with a good spread of torque aligned with the gearing. The engine is a C20XE on ITBs with SBD valve train and QED450 cams. Standard valves and no headwork. The car pulls so hard that I would never need more in a road/occasional track car. Thanks Ash - top job from a genuinely nice bloke!!2 points

In addition to your own plans and the ever popular GF meal on the Friday, I'd like us to build on last years BBQ Social on the Saturday night. This is aimed at Members and particularly those that are putting in the efforts over the weekend in support of the Sprints. Essentially we will make available the BBQ and if we can manhandle it, the marquee. We already have @Ian Tolfree (tolf) - North London AO lined up to cook for you and the BBQ will be available from Thursday night and throughout the weekend for your own use. It will be a bring your own food and drink deal but we will supply the equipment and a Tolf. If you feel you want to get together on Saturday, would you please let me know by voting in the poll and I'll do all I can to get the kit there and consider other things we might want to bring... If this is well supported, we will seek to do this every year and indeed make it bigger where possible. Any further ideas on this please let us know.1 point

Hi all, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that made us feel welcome at the double header Snetterton weekend and particularly to Steve Carpenter and Rosalyn Kennett. (I would have still been rolling around on 3 cylinders if Steve hadn't solved our little spark plug issue!) The support from everyone was awesome and we're really grateful being part of such a good crowd. We're hoping to get out later in the year and we'll look forward to seeing everyone again soon.1 point

Best to get the owner (landlord's) view regarding the work and any financial contribution; maybe even writing him a letter (or email) and getting a written response, so there is no confusion over what has been agreed. What you don't want is to go ahead and later the neighbour (or owner) claims your work has undermined their terrace and they try to bill you for remedial work. Good luck.1 point

Try a fencing contractor. I would go for 8' or longer concrete posts well into the ground, then concrete panels at the bottom up to the required height, then wooden panels above. I would also ask for a contribution from next doors landlord, because it's his height difference that is causing the problem.1 point

I can’t help directly, but in the past, members have often found Past Parts - http://www.pastparts.co.uk/index.php?route=common/home very good for replacement t seal kits and even re-sleeping the bores on master cylinders etc. Might be worth a try, if you have t already spoken to them?1 point

Ian and I will be there from Thursday night, I can do a full day Sunday too. Just thinking about how to get the BBQ, flags, etc there... Ian has agreed to man the BBQ (again), thanks @Ian Tolfree (tolf) - North London AO.1 point
