Many people know mine is called The Wench, but fewer know why. It’s because she’s colourful, flashy, noisy, demanding, hates being ignored, likes it rough, smokes a bit, drinks like a fish, strictly for amusement, prefers to have her top off, and if you’re inside her for more than an hour your bum goes numb.16 points

Plain and simply “Tommy” after my dad who encouraged me in all sorts of car naughtiness and never got his own “7” due to me arriving4 points

Mines is called Frankie... but I never refer to her like this. Why? well... Back in Spain, owning an MK and being part of a club called Lighweight maniacs... we was following UK forums and sharing amusing or interesting content between us for a laught. When @AdamR started all the technical treads developing the car, we used to follow them and call her Frankie... because it looked chunky, fast and aggressive. (like Dr Frankenstein monster) I never thought I would end buying the car several years later.4 points

My first was named Roary by my son ... as it's red and looks like Roary the Racing Car (starring Peter Kay). The second is Maverick and was named by a previous owner in the mid naughties.4 points

Bagpuss-named by @Julie Hall - AO Representative, Peak District AO as my pi55 poor flower knowledge suggested Primrose, given @Geoffrey (Buttercup) - North Yorkshire AO naming!4 points

I had better go next then. Mine is called RITA after the ride at Alton Towers - RITA The Queen of Speed. I don't have to go to Alton Towers to get my thrills anymore. Naming services can be provided foc3 points

Day 7 - Sat 9th June Up with the lark, on our way west by 7.30. Dry, but cloudy, bit chilly, glad of the heater. Nice roads through Tenterden, Haywards Heath, and on to Petworth where we stopped for Breakfast in Tiffins Tea Room. Nice welcoming place, friendly service, good food and coffee. Highly recommend it if your thirsty or hungry in Petworth. Refreshed, we carried on west through Petersfield, Winchester and Salisbury, then headed towards the A303. Stopped for a quick snack lunch at the Black Dog Inn at Chilmark. From here we picked up the A303 just east of Mere (deliberately avoided it around Stonehenge!), not long after we were home, having covered a total of 1020 miles. Tucked Westie in the garage, staright to kennels and collected our dogs, both of whom seemed really glad to see us. Verdict A great trip, we both enjoyed immensely, weather could have been better, but we laughed it off. Car went like a dream after initial hiccup. Have checked it over and found nothing of concern. Checked and tightened all air hoses, been following up on water hoses as a matter of course! Did find that of the 4 nuts holding the fan onto the rad, 1 was missing, the others were still in place but finger tight. Have now fitted secondary locknuts. I didn't fit nylocs deliberately, as I was worried about shearing the M6 stud off where it's welded to an Ali bracket. The various grounding I've done has all been on the chassis hoop as far as I can see, so really pleased, Dread to think what it would have been like had I norpt changed the sump and done the cooling system mods. Half hood has been baptised, and worked a treat. Found the heater was really useful for de misting, and taking the chill off on fresh days. Up on stands for check over after washing Nose off to check and tighten air hoses! Chassis hoop been doing its job! Thank you for reading, hope it's not been too boring. Adge3 points

Meet at Artist Corner Car Park, Matlock, DE4 3PS at 10.30am for a drive north through some of the Peak District's finest scenery to arrive at The Rambler Inn, Edale just in time for lunch, with views over the Mam Tor ridge. For anyone wanting more, we will wiggle a route back down and finish with tea and cake. It is Father's Day so I am not expecting anyone to be able to join us, but just in case you can I am posting it up, ever the optimist.2 points

So last Weds we travelled up to Valley in Angelsey for a cheap stop over at the Valley Hotel £48 per night and it was ok for that sort of money! Thursday we did the track day at Angelsey - superb weather and possibly the best track day I have ever had Only down side was that Kev broke the gearbox on the MK later in the afternoon2 points

Having been with the club for a couple of years now we now know nearly as many Westfields names as we do members, but what are the stories behind the names? Ours, as some of you know is Mrs P. We were asked why Mrs P very early on by @Julie Hall - AO Representative, Peak District AO and to us it's simple. Mrs as it's Gail's car and the P is for pipe dream, one we are now actually living.1 point

Same place I got mine from but their supplier were discontinuing the black ones. I ended up painting a set of the stainless ones. Looks a very nice trip adge.1 point

Adge, Excellent write up, I’m now looking for windscreen wipers like yours but in black. Nice ‘kiss’ on the gearbox rail - after nearly 20k miles mine’s now about 1/3rd of the way through and slightly bend back. See you next week on the way to Shelsey, Jon1 point

Now confirmed that they made a mistake and will change the Regs to show that the Speed Series are invited so you can enter the event1 point

It's, perhaps, less of what they lived in than what they lived on! Fascinating part of the world and your excellent films make it more likely that we'll go and spend some time with the midges again.1 point

Thank you for all the birthday greetings and yes, there was cake involved in the day. We went yomping through the Peak District on Bleaklow, which included a drive up and down the Snake Pass, followed by a meal in the Ladybower Inn with Bakewell Tart for afters. We had planned to eat at the Snake Inn but the barrier is across the car park and it is all shut up with a For Sale sign on it!1 point

It's ok Dave. The scenery is here all year round. The «issues» only happen once a year when a certain person from Englandshire comes to visit us and causes mild havoc and lots of fun in his yellow machine, together with whoever wishes to join him (I suppose that includes me!). We have the remainder of the year to recover! So it's safe to move up to the Highlands (at least for 50 weeks of the year).1 point
