This is probably posted in the wrong place however here goes. Just over a couple of weeks ago the header tank failed on my SE. I put up on the forum that i was after a new or second hand one. Although I got some replies I sent of for a new one on Ebay. When I got the conformation of purchase it said delivery would be Monday 7th (yes I know a bank holiday). I was fortunate to be on holiday that week but needed the car for Saturday 13th. I then had whilst in Lanzarote an email saying that the new header was going to be despatched from Germany on Tuesday 8th. What to do????? Well I got a message from Julie Hall ( AO Peak District ) saying she was at Stoneleigh, had seen a header on the jumble stall, not only that she had put it in the back of her car. Did I want it? A pal of mine picked it up from her and by the time I got back last Thursday the header had been fitted and the car was ready for the charity run on the Saturday. Many thanks WSCC but in particular Julie Hall for going "above and beyond the call of duty". BTW the header turned up but wasn't quite the correct fitting. BIOMAN8 points

Looks like I've upset one of my neighbours. The forecast for today was looking so good i thought id go to work in the westy unfortunately it was a 6am start so leaving home at 530 so i pushed him out of the garage cracked him up and i was off as quietly as i could job done Then i got a call from swimbo , someone had posted a unsigned letter through my door Ive got to say im not fully to blame for this @Steve (stevel) - Lancashire AO told me to be at charnock Richard services for 7am Sunday morning for the trip to stoneleigh .so i think he has to take the flak for that if by any chance my neighbour is reading this please accept my sincere apologies but unfortunately i won't be converting to electric any time soon Tony6 points

You just started your car, you weren't having a party with pulsing trance music for 5 hours. And it was a one-off for an annual event. They need to chill out!4 points

I moved into a house that the previous people were like church mice. When I told them I should be able to get the car in the teeny garage , they raised an eyebrow. The neighbours of the other half of the semi , were miserable old coffin dodgers, who really had nothing better to do with their short remainder of life than moan. So, we moved in and a week later collected the Westfield from mums. Lots of curtain twitching and mumbling from them. Well sadly, the missus sodded off and I needed a lodger to help the mortgage................... it was tight, but we managed to get his collection of superbikes in the garage too We just used to wave at them when we left the house in bikes or cars. Nothing they could have done to be honest. All legal and on the road.2 points

Is it a spokesman for a group of neighbours, or just one assuming that everyone feels the same? It's not like it happens every day, is it? Does someone start cutting their lawn just as you settle down with a beer? We all need a bit of give and take and just get over it and on with yourlife.2 points

Best response is no response. Your car is road legal and you’re being as considerate as possible. If he has an issue, let him talk to you or the council. Judging by the lack of a signature, he’s a blowhard idiot. This was also written by a woman judging from the “selfish man” comment. Of course, considering they can’t spell “you’re”, put this link on the bottom of the note and post it back if you really want to ramp it up. You Can’t Spell2 points

Committee members are endowed with many special powers, they may seem strange to some, but it's all perfectly normal.2 points

I had similar issue many many years ago but I knew who the problem neighbour was. He tried getting a neighbourhood petition against me. I opted to be proactive so I called Sheffield transport police myself and asked if I could take my car in for inspection to see if anything was illegal. They inspected and said as long as I was considerate and didn’t rev etc then I had nothing to worry about and they would keep this on record. One officer came out from under the car and shouted he’d got a problem.....the car was a girls car (pug 106) and the exhaust should be on a 306. I left happy that I’d been proactive and made the first move to cut it dead. The complaints came to nothing in the end.1 point
