  2. Optionally I have 2 in the garage both from narrow cars and I will never use them. Sure you could try one and make a donation to the air ambulance if one is suitable.

  4. Having just cut out my nosecone grille from this honeycomb mesh, I have the other half available. (It comes in 100x34cm but only half is needed per Westfield nose.) The edges are all radiused so no issue for IVA. The 1m sheet is £20 so £10 for the half? I can bring to Stoneleigh on Sunday.

  6. Yep. The morning was pretty much dangerous levels of aquaplaning.. ( A GT86 lost it on the straight and clobbered the Armco) And as Russ says, stopped raining after lunch and for a while half the track was bone dry and some places still very wet. I can confirm those Hankook 180 wets are somewhat awesome on a proper wet track, but a bit lively when they overheat on a dry surface. Supposedly there were only 26 cars booked, but I think half of them stayed at home. There was plenty of space on the track at the end of the day.

  7. @Garyt @Ali and Gail spoken with a certain lady in the Orkneys today. All I can say is that it will be the best time ever up there and it’s already started to be a bonkers adventure. What a trip.

  8. Sadly not, I’ve had a few quotes a few years back from other recommended trimmers - who were quite keen to get stuck in to the challenge, and they were in this sort of ballpark too. Again though, that was no pattern, as I’d asked for basically starting again to fit the existing hood frame and side screens, but to come up with an improved design based on their experience of doing classics.

  9. You will also require the support bar, that bonds behind the rear panel, to which the spare wheel is bolted. Without this the wheel carrier is unlikely to take the weight.

  11. Finally got to trial fit the zetec /type 9 combo today! Now on the look out for an offside engine mount, but haven't ruled out making my own yet. It's only a trial fit as I needed to check whether the flywheel /clutch from the original mondeo would fit and actually work in position with the cable fitted on the type 9. Lo and behold it would all seem tickety boo! Need to remove and refit new flywheel bolts and give the whole lot a bl**** good clean now!
