Westfield SEI.docx The car is at my home in Looe, Cornwall The price is what I paid for it £2500 Westfield SEI (narrow) fully registered (Q plate) as a Westfield SEI, the V5 is in my name. The story so far, I bought this unfinished rebuild from Ralphy on here back in December. My intention being to use all the body and engine parts of my unregisterd pre-lit to build one car and move on the extra bits Today was the first chance I’ve had to offer up my pre-lit bodywork to the SEI chassis and found that it will not fit as various measurements and angles just do not match. I don’t have the time or space to build two so the SEI is for sale. So what is included in the sale? SEI fitted with a zetec blacktop 2 ltr engine with Ford fuel injection rail and Mikuni throttle bodies, type 9 gearbox and Westfield front and rear suspension. All connected up with brakes and an Omex 600 series ecu to make it run. The engine reputedly came out of an accident damaged rear-ended Focus which had done 77k miles. I cannot comment on the condition of the gearbox, axle or brakes as I have not driven the car. The good bits; The body tub, bonnet and nose cone are previously unfitted – no holes. Only loosely put in place for the photos but not attached to the chassis. Genuine Westfield parts but not in matching colours. It has fitted alloy injection tank with fuel sump so no need for a swirl pot. Bias brake bar and pedals fitted and appear to be working. Stainless exhaust manifold and silencer. Windscreen, sidescreens and roof. Ralphy spent considerable time and effort blast cleaning, zinc spraying and painting the chassis and it appears all sound. What needs to be done. Electrics – the wiring is mainly present and some is labelled but all untested. Plumbing needs improving, the pipe runs are wrong. Engine mount needs a spacer to lift it so that the exhaust clears the chassis rail. Dials and gauges need fitting and probably replacing. Alternator bracket is wrong and the belt fouls the engine slightly. Price £2500 firm.1 point

You lot are lucky! We got absolutely drenched. Left 10 minutes after you and spent nearly 3 hours driving in the rain! Pot hole avoidance is much trickier when everything is disguised by water so had to be even more careful. Arrived home at 8pm just before dark so that bit went according to plan. Just a quickie - when Michael & Marie say 'please do call in as you know where we are now' - they mean it. More visitors the merrier as it perks Michael up and takes his mind off things. Thanks for a lovely day again - next time please remember to book the weather!1 point

The angle depends on your seats. So a laid back single seater might need a 30-40º angle whereas a saloon car with bolt upright seats might need 10º. Good pic on Merlin website explains it: I went for 20º as that seems to be the norm for our kind of cars. The size (ie S/M/L etc) relates to 'collar' size really. The one I have is a Medium and it just goes past my neck! The Schroth HANS I got looked a bit narrow for the Harness straps, but I checked and it is fine with the 3" shoulders as well as the more Hans-specific 2". HANS is not required unless you are running in a class with slicks or certain sticky tyres (I think) - certainly not needed for the road going class I'm in, but figured I'd not pass on one when it came up at a decent price.1 point

Boots aren't a requirement for the class I'm in - but if you haven't got a pair, might as well go the whole hog - I got carried away and blagged a Hans too1 point

I would expect so! Don't see it being any different to all the years I've been. There may be an event taking place on Thursday which may mean we have to hang back from setting up shop until they start leaving.1 point

I strongly disagree with this point... Anyway. Great car here, and one of the fastest "Arrive and drive" cars you can actually have without spending serious money or go to the actual only sprint focused cars and single seaters. If I was on the hunt for a competition car... I would go for it without any sort of doubt.1 point

not sure if this is the right section or not (mods feel free to move if needed) but is it possible for me to put my name before my fourm name so that people can put the name to the forum name at the local meets1 point

Great to meet up with you all, seems months since we did, Oh! it has been. Pleasant trip back, wipers not needed once. Thanks for all the kind words about the "Bank" Julie but you didn't mention the diffuser. Looking forward to the Oil Can meet later in the year where I'm sure Glen will give me some more of his inspirational advice. Take care all1 point

You did well then to miss the rain. It was constant light rain from just before Leek to the outskirts of a Congleton for me, where it turned into a biblically hard downpour, stopped at a junction to turn right, and the rain on the roof drowned out the engine! (How very dare it!) Another great day though, and some new favourite bits of road, well, as long as you ignore the couple of small stretches that feel like downtown Basra, the pot holes were so bad.1 point

The Mega S2000 uses the standard Westfield upper steering column. (It’s inky the lower columns in the engine bay that are different). So yes, it takes the standard Westfield IVA wheel and boss.1 point
