  4. Re the fuel line repair. I'd recheck that area too, you may have a restriction, or be pulling in air under extreme load?

  5. No, that is your TPS (throttle position sensor). Just check the screws are still secure on it. That thing above (yours will likely be on the back above the bellhousing) is the coil pack (without the HT leads). Thats the type I have too, so compare it to yours...

  6. Thanks Kev ,The starting issue only happened once the last time I used it ,and the misfire is a recent thing . ive still got the oil from the last oil change in a sealed container in the garage ,it’s 2000 ish miles old I’m off for a sniff

  7. If it is over fuelling you run the risk of bore wash. If you ruled out the TPS, then the next step I would do is new leads (or swap them if the length allows it). Have a look at the plugs and check for gap/soot, and replace them. These are the cheap options. Not sure what version of coil pack you use (for Zetec there are two with different connectors), but if it is the old 'mushroom' type, then I have a spare brand new coil pack you can try out before you spend £££.

  8. It might be my phone speaker! Sounds more like something to cut the forest down than drive through it

  9. To be honest much is in the quality of the build. A well sorted mk Indy or mnr vortx will pee all over a poorly set up westfield and vice versa. The old mk chassis could be a bit hit and miss but now much improved but then the westfield chassis ain't perfect either. A couple of massive plus points for the westfield. 1. This club/forum 2. Lots of choice for components/upgrades/carbon/roof/half roof/windscreen/aeroscreen etc available to order easily rather than having to get custom made. Engine choice is very personal. Try to get out in a couple of variants if possible. I'm 6ft 4 and 17 stone and fit in a westy, but that was in a car with dropped floors and JK seats. I also fitted easy in an MNR.

  11. We went to supercars of Southport at the weekend. OK, so there were 1 or 2 supercars, and a lot of Focus ST's, but there were a couple of little gems too. I think we got the most viewers, though the supercar drivers might disagree

  13. That’s it, though £30 is the first year, it drops a wee bit after that. The trial membership of the Boardroomis just that, a free sample, we try and give as broad an experience as possible, but obviously, to avoid spammers and commercial entities joining for a months free trial and then using the PM system to spam members directly, (which the admin team wouldn’t necessarily see), PM’s are one of the things reserved for paid membership. However, with insurance discounts from A Plan/Cherised Vehicle Insurance, Northampton Motorport, and regular deals from PlaysKool Motorsport and our other sponsors and Traders, you can very rapidly save way more than the cost of membership in direct financial terms. Weigh in what members have saved other members thanks to everything from the loan of tools to technical advice and help, and your quids in!

  14. Because of my marshalling duties, I was not using my car to the full. Plus the fact that my wife, Rosie was reluctant to be with me in the car (not sure if it was my driving or the fact it wasn't the easiest vehicle to get in and out of!), we also have a VX220 which I've supercharged and thats also not easy to get in and out of. Yes 14 years may be a long time, and I am sure that many of heard the same thing from bystanders "How long did you take to build your Westfield?" Answer: "I'm still building it!" Much enjoyment was found by changing something or other, taking a long look at other Westfields and thinking "That's a good idea!" Yes I intend to still be around, come and say hello when I marshall at Blyton Trackdays and sprints.
