  1. Sorry can't make it next week. Shame to miss it. Glad I checked my computer, was just about to set out into the cold. Staying at home now under the love blanket.

  5. Adge, you were the 'play' I've just see your post and realised that the trip to Bridgwater was to pick up a pick up, hope it's warm enough for you to fit the sump this weekend. Jon

  6. Chaps, as the weather isn’t great, and the pub is on the less well travelled and gritted roads, I think we’d better give tonight a miss. Can anyone make it if we reschedule to next Thursday, same place and time?

  7. Very "atmospheric" photos, anybody would think you did it deliberately. Still remember the winner of 1963. Went sledging down a railway embankment (branch line I should add!), found a a sheet of corrugated iron, so we bent the front up and it went well six up, till somebody fell off and sliced their hand on the edge! Hadn't heard of risk assessments at twelve years old!

  13. I am pleased to join you on Sunday 11th but only meet up at the lodge. I am due back from the sun abroad on Saturday 10th, and due to the snow this week, have put the Westy back in my garage, on the lift so the wife's car is underneath to escape the snow, whilst we are away. So not enough time to sort them out for the 11th blat. We catch a plane this Friday afternoon, providing the Gatwick snowplows are working well. Brian

  15. Don't know which throttle bodies you have, but here you can see it on the Omex version it's the thingy on the left hand side. It will have a electrical connector going to it. Just check the screws first before spending money on a new one... Edited to add: do not undo it! It determines the amount of fuel going into the TBs, so if you undo it, you may need to hook it up to a laptop or (worse) have it set up again on a rolling road

  16. With the Rover V8's ability to drain its oil pump of oil, I would try and start and check you have oil pressure before changing the oil. By removing a partially drained oil pumps oil filter may make the issue worse. By all means turn it over, check it starts and has oil pressure , but by doing that, I would drain it hot rather than cold. Make sure you quickly change the pre oil filled filter too, to keep the pump oil filled.

  17. change the oil cold, after 6 months most of it should have dropped into the sump. I always do mine hot, although this winter I read a lot of reports of the merits of a cold change, so I let it drip for a couple of days cold.
