  2. Your planet needs you. Should we play our part? Can we play our part? Don't drive a diesel car. And don't drive an inefficient petrol car, such as a Crossflow on twin 40's, or a V8 on a 30 year old ecu. Our planet has taken care of itself from time immemorial, remember the ice age a few (earth) years ago? They say there is another one coming, so that should sort out global warming and save the penguins. A mate of mine went to buy a new Ford. "Why on earth do you want a petrol car?" the salesman asked, obviously nothing to do with the 27% fall in diesel sales. Yes, diesel and petrol will soon be history, replaced by electric, solar, hydrogen, pedal, huskies, cow dung and whatever else. In the meantime I'm looking forward to 1,500 miles around Scotland this summer in my V8. And long may it last. Just hope it doesn't rain.

  9. Maybe Graham or John could print off a map (Google Maps for example) and mark with coloured felt tips or similar where everything is for this weekend, then attach a copy of that to this thread, with a narrative of what is what by reference to the map? If you see what I mean? It isn't a big problem for me as I am booked into a bed & breakfast, but I'd like to know where I can park my trailer overnight, if anywhere. Most B & Bs don't have room to accomodate a BJ trailer!

  11. Not being familiar with the venue doesn't help me here! So the showers are located remote from the camping area and are limited...as in there might be none? Only thinking if my better half comes I will get a load of stick if the showers are not immaculate, and close by!......I would also guess I won't be the only one.

  14. I wonder if Caterham will try to copy the pod design, get slapped with a litigation from Westfield leading to the development of a post lit/pre lit pod for future users to debate endlessly....

  15. I went to look at a G40r to buy , rather than build the westie. But , yes they are a race car , but being the road version, I hoped it would be reasonably screwed together. It had done 2k miles . And in the boot was all the bits that had fallen off and there was plenty of bits. The airbox was already broken, the fuse box hanging down. I was really disappointed. Yes, they were fixable, but for 27k , I expected more. Plus getting in was worse than the Elise with a roof on. So, that spawned the immortal words to the wife ' I could build a better car than that ', which she said ' well, why dont you'............ and the rest is history.............

  16. Cheers To be fair I can't get a consistent read of the wheel, and I'm none to impressed with the QED bracket. I get the impression if and when I drop the sump, it'll be an A*** to get it lined up just so again. I'm going to have a rethink, and perhaps go with the Webcon kit I was contemplating at the outset. QED have been helpful up to the point of saying they've sold loads ( nearly 100 ) and this is the first time someone has had an issue, so I sent them, the details of other people I found with the same type of tolerance problems. I am at the whim of the weather gods though, as I don't have a garage, so it'll probably be a few more weeks before I progress further.
