  3. Sense of humour required. I recently sent this email to bollockybill69@hotmail.com. ”Dear Mr Bill, It appears that our email addresses are similar. I have recently received unwarranted correspondence from several sites and have asked them to unsubscribe me. However they need to talk to you as you are the account holder. The sites are:- phil and ben’s proctology for beginners. bug.ger soixante neuf.co.org. However I am happy to keep receiving emails from:- babesinthewoods.org.asm thanks for your understanding, bollockybill33.” Anyone with similar problems can get help and advice from notinmybackyard.goodness me. Also Amazon have a sale on sense of humour plug ins. Whatever they are.

  4. And now for something completely different........ I'm a fan of the US magazine "Grassroots Motorsports" and almost always like their take on car stuff. Late last year they sponsored a "Show us your shop contest" with three categories - small, large, and commercial. One of the prizes was a welding machine and I would love to be able to weld car projects so I cleaned my place up, took a few photos, wrote a description and sent the whole mess in. I was surprised and pleased to learn that I won the small category and a new welding machine, along with some other cool stuff, is on its way to Bozeman. I look forward to the print article coming out in a few months so I can send a copy to my mom! If you'd like to see the online article you check it out here - https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/ar...ers-announced/ Now it's time to go back into the shop and make it dirty....dirtier maybe? Dave

  7. You don’t need to wait to go along to local meets. It’s not a requirement to turn up in a Westy, Just nice if you can! Your budget should stretch to a Duratec build I reckon. Always best to go for the most modern engine available and a Duratec can be easier to get more power further down the line. Having said that, nothing wrong with the Zetec. You do not have to source your engine from the factory which might give you more options too.

  8. I would suggest if you think you might want an LSD, go for it from the very start as to change it out would be a b*******, if my experience of getting it in is any guide FYI Sport 250 does not come as standard with an LSD, its an option, in my experience. I would not read to much into what the press say, there are people on here who are a much better judge of the WF family and a few 250 owners who have made it to the road. My view, and it's my own as my 250 is still in-build, is that any jurno is going to be bias from his own experiences, and lets be real here, not many of them love the 7 family, and would naturally compare to production cars, and IMHO thats not the only part of WF ownership. I took a lot of time looking at 7 type cars, and the best advice I could offer would be to have some idea of what you really want to do with the car, and then get along to a local group meeting and have a chat with them, you will probably get more from that than you can imagine. Did you have a budget in mind as this might really determine what is possible? I don't think any particular model in the range is any easier than any other, maybe just more bits to start with, but at the end of the day its a space frame chassis/engine etc. with a lot of variables down to choice.

  10. I hear you. The rubber is a tad wider than the wings! My race rules say that 1/2 the tire needs to be covered by the fender so I'm fine there. In reality the car sits on its street wheels 95% of the time and they fit under the wings just right I think. dave

  13. Yes I noticed the cycle wings and tyres..reminded me of when I had my Westy in Texas.. and went to get it tested.. like mot.. to take it on the road.. when the tester started down his list and couldn't find many things that applied..he said wait a minute while I sort the guy out waiting.. after ten minutes he came back and said ok I will just sign the paperwork..but had to get rid of the guy waiting as he was the local sheriff!

  14. I'd have thanked the Belgian B*stard for that, then would have reminded him that if it wasn't for the Brits, he would be speaking German now....
