Another great day of silliness to add to the usual festive madness! It did end in an eventful manner as Julie has reported the headlamp departure situation, I have to report that my left DRL is still going on and off, fault not found yet and my repaired alternator has failed again, poor soldering by me . However, the biggest blunder is shown in the picture below! Yes that's right, the hood roll is not on the boot box where it belongs as I leaned it up against the fence whilst rummaging in the boot! Yes you are right again to think that this complete numpty then drove off without re-attaching said hood roll on to the car! Fortunately it all ends well as the kind staff at Peak Rail have rescued it and are looking after it until I can return to claim it

I'm a little OCD when it comes to cleanliness so every car I have ever bought has been subjected to a deep clean, even brand new cars. End of a few days of intensive car cleaning with BMW waxed, Merc fully machine polished and waxed and today was the Westfields turn in readiness for a North Wales trip on Tuesday Front wheels off, cleaned and waxed, full clean and checkover of all suspension, bodywork clayed, prepped and topped off with a layer of Mitchell and King Japan, a lovely soft wax that I borrowed from a friend, not that the 20+ waxes I already have would not have done but always keen to try different ones

Yep, nutter for sure, but I think I might be changing the route if the roads are icy. I am definitely going to come home in the light, I expect my head lamp to fall off again. @Martyn Vann - Joint Warwickshire AO the staff at Peak Rail are only there at weekends at the moment, so we can call in for jammy tea cakes to collect your hood bag. If you can find a couple of repair washers big enough, put one top and one bottom then refit the light. That will help prevent a break in future.
