  1. To other areas... give this a try. Other than the first minute when you leave home..and you hope no one spots you . It is great fun and seeing all the kids faces is 'good medicine for the heart' ... not a dull minute. @Julie Hall - AO Representative, Peak District AO panorama pictures?... and I may post a video ?

  2. Nothing wrong with the Elite IL200 in my opinion. The early ones were a bit fragile, but they were then upgraded, and the later ones were fine. I ran one in the Speed Series without any problem 4 or 5 years ago, on a high power Duratec engine. Admittedly my Duratec wasn't very high torque, but it was over 270 bhp and high reving. Clutchless upward changes went through like a knife through butter, and downward changes were made with only a slight dip of the clutch. Unlike normal road 'boxes, I think a regular oil change is a good idea, at least that is what I used to do.

  3. Back in my JDM loving youth, I had a JDM MR2 Turbo and I fitted an engine cover with two whacking great fans in it. It had no kind of controller, so sounded like it was going to take off. ETA it made no discernible difference to engine temperature.

  4. Right, I am going to get one in first Mr @Trevturtle Are you posting this years video or last years video? And now I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that I am rubbish at taking panorama photos and I was quietly hoping that you had all forgotten about them, here you are and I will get mi coat. Fear not, Glen has asked that I reassure the group that he is ribbing me about it Now for the good news, the bracket has been welded by my local garage and they did not charge me for it, how sweet is that? The good husband has wiggled all the wires and put it back on for me too, so I am back on the road and a happy bunny. How long will it last before it breaks again, don't even go there. Looking forward to the videos

  5. We could just keep going for a winter curry until we bring our cars out in the summer and then meet in the pay and display above the park then go for a curry repeat at will....

  7. Arriving home. Putting flashing lights on the roll bar isn't so clever when you catch blue lights flashing in your rear mirrors at night

I can confirm that I’m now the proud new owner of this: http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/topic/126756-2007-westfield-seiw-1800-zetec-reduced/ thanks for all of the inputs from everyone, much appreciated and I look forwards to seeing some of you at the various meets and shows. Mods - can you mark the original for sale ad as sold - not sure if the seller still frequents the forum. Mat

  19. Having lived with an Elite and now a Sadev on an S2000 car I'd say the IL200/300 is usable for a standard S2000 engine but personally I'd keep it stick shift not paddle so there's a 'feel' element to the shifts and it'll be less picky than paddle setup can be on them. The issues I had with reliability of the IL200 were primarily due to start line launches and/or overly aggressive tyre warming (my own fault). There never appeared to be any damage or excessive wear done unless something like a launch or missed-shift was involved. With the IL300 obviously the bigger gears will help protect against these scenarios even more. All that said, I'm basing my feedback on mainly sprint events and only a handful of trackdays. If it was going to do more road and track miles change the oil fairly regularly as Stephen suggests and definitely go for the peace of mind of the IL300. The later boxes definitely seemed better strength wise, with stronger shaft designs and the wider gears of the IL300. There's also less choice of gear ratios now, whether that's because some were pushing it strength wise or they just wanted to reduce stock holding I'm not sure, probably a bit of both. Oh, mounting should be dead easy as there's a few mounting holes to choose from, mine was 'hung' off the bolt holes in the top of the case but it would easily sit on mountings at the bottom of the case, just depends where you're tunnels mounts are.

  20. Ooops! I know a few people that have done stuff just like that - parts in dishwasher, parts in the oven etc. This reminds of the time I had an incident in the garage whereby I ended up with my jeans soaked in petrol. Thinking it was probably not wise to carry on working in them, I changed and put my petrol soaked jeans in the washing machine switched it on (I’m very domesticated) and went back in the garage to roll around on the floor some more. When I came back in and opened the washing machine, oh my God, the smell was as bad as when I put the jeans in. They were certainly clean, but I ended up throwing them away anyway. It took weeks for the smell in the machine to die down, I don’t think it ever really went. I think it got into all the rubber parts. Wifey wasn’t very happy with me either. If it happens again I’ll strip off in the garden and put a match to them!
